#2 of 11 Speciality lodging in Maltahohe
We are a small intimate lodge in the south of the Namib desert bordering the NamibRand Nature Reserve. It is located away from the main road, ensuring peace and quiet, no passers by and no interruptions. The lodge itself is comfortable and perfectly suited for just relaxing at the pool, downtime from travelling, catching up on travel journals, stargazing and simply watching the view. We largely depend on Solar power thus limiting our carbon footprint in this sensitive area. A central charging facility is located in the lounge/dining room area where guest are welcome to charge any gadgets if needed. We offer scenic drives and walks. These traverse the property and give our guests an impression of the vastness of the land and the incredible adaption the resident animals here make. The meals are freshly prepared by our resident chef using mostly home grown produce when seasons allow it. A well stocked bar with a small but versatile selection of wines, beers and cool drinks are available for your enjoyment. Come and experience true desert hospitality!

This is an undiscovered jewel in the Namib. Everything from gravel plains to rocky koppies to red dunes to camel thorns to enormous weaver nests to oryx and a musical mountain (I kid you not - a glockenspiel-hill!) all on the same property, expertly run.

magnificent nature and 4 very friendly stuff people, beside this there where always too less. Bring enough food and drinks on your own to get through. 2 people one towel for the pool, 1 blanket, breakfast 1 slice of things, 1 spoon of cerials with 1 spoon of dairy, not enough ice cubes for cold drinks, not enough drinks, no water boiler in the room, so not hot enough water for early morning coffee without milk. Gamedrive without instructions, bring your own drinks. Tiny and narrow feeling when everything is counted and restricet This magnificent nature can't balance the price...

Thanks for the review, so sorry for your experience. We have been awarded TA's 2019 Certificate of excellence. To be awarded this, a very high level of service has to be reached and maintained, we are very successful at it. In our defense, there is a gas stove in the kitchen area for early morning coffee. There are towels supplied for every guest, in rooms. Each room is supplied with needed bedding, at all times. We have been greatly complimented on all meals, quantity, and quality. The package does, unfortunately, not include drinks on drives, this is for your own account. Our guides have been trained to cater to all our guest's needs, sorry if you feel that there was a lack of communication. Our success has been due to our fine care of our guests' needs, if management were informed timeously to correct the issues it would be addressed immediately. Thank you

After a 3 week Namibia roundtrip, we spent the last 3 nights in the wonderful Greenfire Desert Lodge. It was perfect to relax, walk and enjoy the dreamlike landscape. The lodge staff was very friendly and warm - we become friends in this very short time. The lodge is perfect for quiet and relaxing days. The night sky is just amazing - never before we saw the stars and the milky way so clear!

We booked this lodge in June last year for four people through Booking.com. One month before our arrival we were simply told by Booking and Lodge management that they cannot accomodate us, because of the alleged “overbooking” which they have “overseen”. Ooops! They offered us alternative lodge of the much worse quality and more than 100 km away from our route. We are not with any travel agency, but travelling ourselves so this unexpected complication has caused us tremedous problems with finding the alternative accomodation. We have finally found one, more expensive and not so much in line with our travel plan, because one month before arrival are all the lodges in the area fully booked. I consider approach of the Greenfire Desert Lodge highly unprofessional and extremely rude. I am of the opinion that they kicked us out because of the bigger group. (No matter what they reply on this review will be.). Don't risk by booking this lodge bacause you may end up sleeping in the desert!
