We stayed here twice; once on our way to Walvis Bay and the second on our way back home. It is in a stunning location in the desert with absolutely nothing around! We loved the pool - it was a lifesaver in the heat! And our dogs had a wonderful time! The sunsets are spectacular!

The lodge is situated on a hill, 17 kilometers from the main road, so it's a remote location The view (and sunset) is amazing. We took a 5 km walk from the lodge. Staff is friendly. Room design and bathroom are poor. Reception/bar are nice. Dinner and breakfast were ok.

Although they are situated on a breathtaking hill, the establishment dates back approximately 25 years and could need a bit of "tender loving care" to make it worthwhile and the stay more rewarding. Unless you have to overnight exactly in the Maltahohe vicinity, look somewhere else, there are definitely better options...

We just stayed here. I payed about EUR 117. The room itself was OK-ish. The bathroom reminded me of my younger years where I had a very low budget. The staff was friendly. As for the dinner: quite frankly it was a waste of money - very pricey and the quality of the food was below expectations. Compared to all the other remote lodges we have stayed in Namibia this one is definetely very overpriced. We have stayed at EUR 50 a night lodges that were by far better than this one. When staying here, make sure you have a 4x4 because there is a 12km dirt road trail that would not really suit a normal car.

We stayed in this lodge for our first night in Namibia having driven from Windhoek. I stumbled across it while looking for a stop on the way to Lüderitz and I’m so glad I did. Simply, this place is stunning. I wish we could have arrived sooner but we got there in time for sunset and to see some Wildebeest walking to a waterhole in the distance! The welcome was warm, the room was great, the meal was fantastic and the beer was cold! We were the only guests which made the place seem even more secluded and peaceful! The next morning we woke up at 6am and sat on the patio watching the sun rise over the vista in front of us with Dassies sitting 10 metres from us! After a delicious breakfast we went on a well marked 5km hiking trail, where we saw some beautiful Gemsbok! I wish we could have stayed longer, it was just perfect!
