Coming from the kilometer long access road you really feel like arriving in an oasis. Really green with 3 cheetahs, an ostrich and more animals beloning to the place. The food was amazing and the staff is very lovely and friendly. The cheetahs are fed every evening and this is amazing to watch. We definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Another Namibian gem. We stayed for three nights, and it was absolutely wonderful. Granted we where upgraded to one of the chalets overlooking the game farm. The effort the owners spend on protecting endangered animals is commendable. The rooms are well equipped, clean and spacious with WiFi at the lodge. The food was prepared by Dalene who also manages this lodge. The food was excellent, with friendly and professional service, a nice fire place, good wine, well what more do you want.
Never managed to get into the gate. Arrived at the scheduled time - after managed a very poor (deep sand) drive from the road from Maltahohe - at the gate. Despite 20 mins of trying, the intercom was not answered and I was forced to leave again. Those who know the area realise that this is not a good thing - the nearest lodge is at least 70 kms away - with darkness and gravel roads, this is stressful. Several attempts to call the Farm on all the numbers they listed (by myself and locals who tried to assist) also failed. Emails to the Farm have as of yet been unanswered. Booking.com, who made the booking, has been in touch. For this reason I am unable to recommend this facility. I am sure it is nice but this experience is not good and given the lay of the land, should be avoided at all cost.…
We stopped at this guest house and very surprised. The cleanliness, beautiful set in, the service and most of all nature at its best. We highly recommend Burgsdorf as it is value for money and a great stop over for either a day or two days..
If I knew the hotel offered luxury cottages instead of the rooms that set up like stables, I would have definitely chose them. But at the time of booking, I wasn't even given a choice other than a double room. The room was large, but very cold (the a/c didn't work as heater), cleanliness could be better - there were lots of ants on the floor, you could see a black line formation. There were also no tea making facilities in the room, but the owner was kind to give us a thermos with warm water. I also liked that the mattress had a heated pad which provided for a warm sleep. Bathroom was small but had warm shower. Breakfast was fine, too. The best thing in this guest farm was a cheetah experience. Being able to pat a cheetah, observe it play and roam around was such a nice experience, that I didn't regret my stay. I hear there are rhinos as well, but we didn't see any during our stay. The Burgsdorf farm stay was the most expensive accommodation of all our stays in Namibia, perhaps the price of animal encounter is factored in.…
