We stayed here in September and it was certainly not as expected. The place is very tired and in need of some TLC. The kitchen is very small and nowhere to prepare food. The bathroom is tiny and not able to stand under the shower. Bed linen never felt clean. Overall I found the apartment of very poor standard and definitely would not return. I have travelled to many places (third worlds) and feel this place is worse than some of the places I have stayed. I most certainly would not recommend. There is a wasp problem and I also got stung - ouch for a few days and obviously with this being nature is not something I blame the owner for. There is also a rubbish problem on the island of Corfu- which is most disappointing, even though in a previous report the owner has stipulated it has been resolved - very untrue!

When we arrived at the Anna apartments we were welcomed by Anna who gave us our key. We were ushered into Apartment 2. I have to say I was not a happy bunny when I saw our accommodation and I don't think the photos on the booking.com website are a true reflection of the real thing. The bathroom was tiny and grubby and the shower curtain and walls were mouldy. There was a socket in the shower itself which I thought was dangerous. The kitchen was tiny and ill equipped for someone that is supposed to be self catering. The fridge stank and there was nowhere to prepare food. The apartment is 2 bedroomed and both bedrooms were fusty and had the beginnings of mould on the walls and inside the wardrobe. The balcony is probably the best part of the building where you can see the sea and watch the world go by. The beach (I use the term loosely) is opposite the apartment. It is a small stretch of sea weed and large pebbles where you can barely get a sun lounger on. You have to have shoes on to get into the sea and you don't get much sun either as it is north facing. The apartment wasn't cheap either we paid 615 euros for 7 nights. Boukari is a small village and there are a few small taverna's that mostly sell fish but other than that there is nothing to do. If you are self catering then you need to go to one of the bigger towns nearby as the supermarket in Boukari is not well stocked. You need a car to really see what Corfu has to offer. I think Corfu has a huge problem with waste and you can see piles and piles of rubbish left by the wayside everywhere you go and also in September there is a big problem with wasps.

Upon your arrival my mother, Anna gave you the key and kindly gave you a drive to the closest mini market to buy some staff. She show you the apartment and there was no sight of mold. I respect that it might had developed later on while from the bathroom water vapor it is possible if an apartment stays closed all day. As we were there o now that you where missing from the apartment till late at evening. The kitchen is the one seeing in Booking photos that concerns this apartment. It is not big but certainly before someone makes a booking can see how it is. We have 5 different apartments. So at the photos you can see all of them and if you click the link for the specific apartment you can see only the photos of it. So if you say that the photos are not true, I suppose you just show all the photos and you did not click on your apartment. Our reviews rate 9.3 confirms that we advertise the true photos! Concerning the kitchen equipment. We provide big oven and fridge. Boiler for hot water. Espresso and French coffee machine. Many pans and pots. While we were speaking every day, it would be wonderful if you had ask us to give you what you were missing or ever a second table for extra space for food preparation. The beach is just 10m in front of the apartments. It has small pebbles and bigger inside the sea for the first meter. Then inside the sea it has sand. Photos shows exactly how it is as are uploaded from our guests. Boukari is a small village with some excellent taverns for fresh fish. Perfect place for relaxation at the picturesque scenery! Closest mini market is 500m away and many bigger supermarkets, shops bars etc are only 3km away at Messonghi. After you make a booking I send to all our guests an email with all the information needed for Corfu sightseeing and our place. So they all know what they can find closed to us. Corfu is a big island so a motorbike is car is the best way to explore the island. At the moment of your stay there was a problem with the waste but by now is already fixed. Concerning wasps... As beginning of September is the period we collect grapes to make wine, there are more wasps. So if you have close to you fruits or food, they will come for it. I believe that most of the things you did not enjoyed would have been easily fixed if you have let me know during your stay. Our aim is to share with our guests the Greek hospitality and make your holidays a nice memory to remember! With kind regards, Aristea

The accommodation needs updating. There was a constant smell of damp that made me nauseous for the entire week. We found it rather cramped and depressing, The beach is directly on a busy road and faces north so the sun is rarely on it. There is very little to do here other than spend a fortune in tavernas. Would struggle to recommend this place for any reason.

My partner and i and 8 month old baby paid to stay in the apartments next door originally. (Villa Alexandra) However we were moved to the studio on the ground floor of Anna apartments so to have easy access. Big mistake! The ground floor studio is like a cave, damp, dark and dingy. The decor of the whole building is circa 1960s. Nice view yes but horrendous accommodation. The tv didn't work at all, the wifi only connected from outside and worst of all was the drainage. Or lack of! Water from the shower collects in pools throughout the studio, resulting in us having to walk through sloppy puddles every time we used the loo or went to the sink. No one asked if we were ok or needed anything the 5 nights we stayed there. Luckily for the last 2 nights we were moved to hotel Penelope. Kostas was very helpful from hotel Penelope and thankfully is the one that moved us so our holiday didn't end as bad as it would have done otherwise.

I stayed at the Anna Apartments for a week with my girlfriend. I booked the accommodation direct on the internet and got a great deal. Anna the owner is part of a large family who have other accommodation and a taverna in Boukari (Boukari Beach Restaurant) - they all pitch in to make your stay the very best – nothing is too much trouble. We had apartment 5, which is a lovely big space on the first floor. It has a stunning balcony overlooking the sea (photo included) and a fabulous living space with sofas to crash out in at night. I spent many a night sat on the balcony watching the world go by! The beach is only down the stairs and across the road. The sea is warm and swimming easy no strong tides here. Boukari is a small compact village with a selection of tavernas and a supermarket. Kostas at the restaurant can help with boat trips, fishing, boat hire and is always on hand to help bring luggage up to the rooms. The outside stairs are steep so won’t be suitable for everyone, but I for one will be going back.
