Storms River Guest Lodge is located in the peaceful village of Storms River, in the heart of the Tsitsikamma, which forms part of the Garden Route. Tsitsikamma is a Khoi/Nama word meaning 'place of abundant water.' The region is bordered at the north by the Tsitsikamma Mountains and in the south by the Indian Ocean. The village is surrounded by natural occurring indigenous forest, Fynbos and commercial plantations. This charming lodge is a Bed and Breakfast (which is suitable for small and large groups), consisting of a double story building with 14 spacious, en-suite rooms. The top story has a large veranda that offers panoramic views of the Storms River Mountain Peak and the tranquil lodge gardens. Other facilities include a private swimming pool that the whole family can enjoy. In addition, the lodge is in close proximity to a variety of exciting activities that cater to both the adventurous, and those looking to put their feet up for a relaxing break. The area also hosts a number of meandering hiking trails, the Tree Top Canopy Tours; Black Water Tubing; mountain biking; segways and horse riding. The area also boasts the highest commercial bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge. The Storms River Mouth - with its spectacular shoreline - is the start of the famous Otter Hiking Trail and is situated in the Tsitsikamma National Park and is a mere 10 kilometres away. For a more relaxing experience, there is the Tsitsikamma Mountain Spa where you will be pampered. With such an abundance of natural beauty, it is hard to resist the allure of this magical place. What better place to settle in for the night, after an exhilarating day outdoors, than the Storms River Guest Lodge? Indulge in cool breezes and the sound of chirping crickets on the veranda in summer or cosy up to an intimate log fire in winter with a decadent mug of hot chocolate (or even an indulgent glass of red wine!). The lodge offers a little slice of heaven to everyone, and even the weariest of travellers will leave rejuvenated! Should you need any assistance during your stay, the hostess, who is also the owner, will be able to assist you with any needs you might have, and even help you to plan your activities.

Maria, her husband, and Lizzy are extremely hospitable and welcoming, making you feel at home as soon as you enter their establishment. The bed is very comfortable, with fresh, white sheets, and there is an excellent fridge to keep all your goodies perfectly chilled. The breakfast is delicious, consisting of freshly made fruit salad, a variety of bread and pastries, and a hot breakfast cooked on demand. This establishment is worth staying overnight, or even longer. I wish them all the success in their new venture.

here you get what you see in the picture. Rooms are spacious very clean and provide anything the traveller could ask for. It is situated right next to the famous bridge and has places to explore within walking distance. The views of the mountain range are spectacular, and the restaurant next door has the most impressive menue, even to real foodies like us.

The room was very nice and large. everything Clean and comfortable. It felt like being inside a mountain chalet. Host very kind and available to provide all the information. The structure is walking distance from some restaurants where you can eat very well. However, make sure to check (if you are on the ground floor) that the French window of the room is closed because by pure chance during the night we noticed that the window was completely wide open and we are sure that someone entered while we went to dinner. We didn't say anything to the owner because she has always been very very kind but it is right to let us know first. I don't do my best for this very reason.

This guest lodge is conveniently situated at Stormsrivier village. The service is friendly and the reception and staff are excellent. The rooms we had faced the breakfast and common area - it was quiet when we were there so this was not a problem. The rooms are spacious with clean linen and convenient in terms of the bed and sleeping area. Coffee and tea in the room and an honesty bar if you would like a drink. We enjoyed our stay as one-night sleepover on our way back home to Cape Town. We went out to dinner in the village - this was also fine and very easy to get to. Good value for money!

A warm welcome from Maria and precise instructions about when there would be a power outage and which devices would still be powered by the generator.
Large room and large bathroom. Good breakfast.
All of the surrounding restaurants can be reached in just a few minutes on foot.
Thanks again to Maria for her good tip about where we could buy hiking boots.

The facility is in good order. My room was spacious. The host was really kind and went extra mile to make special arrangment for me even though I arrived late way past the check in time. All the employees were warm to me and my family. I will certainly stay here whenever I am next in the Tsitsikama area.

No aircons in the room, fan speed very low, stuffy and hot in the room. No insect shield on windows, therefore unable to open windows to prevent insects entering the room.
Room has minimum privacy when curtains are open.

We had to cancel days before our planned stay in the guesthouse because my daughter had to go to the hospital. Since the house is always fully booked, I was hoping that the room would be released and that it could be booked again if necessary. Unfortunately, the accommodation didn't suit us at all.
