Picturesquely situated on the beach with a beautiful view of the mountains on the other side. Very clean, nicely decorated, tea and coffee making facilities present in all rooms, and a bottle of wine as a welcome present (much appreciated as we arrived after midnight and all bars were closed). Good quality cosmetics in the bathrooms. Staff is extremely capable and very friendly and polite. When we were displeased with our room, because of the loud music being played in the bar below, we were given another room in a quiet location immediately. The beach is very nice, there were enough loungers and a bar close by, with a good service. The swimming pool is also nice, but on the smallish side, and there were never enough loungers. All the covid regulations were adhered to religiously, all the staff wore masks properly, they also wore gloves and the food was served in the restaurants, so people were not touching the serving dishes and spoons, and everything felt really safe. The service was always with a smile, and the smile was genuine. The food was fresh and plentiful, although a bit bland for our tastes. Overall, a very nice hotel, with a very welcoming atmosphere - we really felt like wanted and appreciated guests.

This hotel satisfied all our needs which we have for a relaxing holiday.

First of all this hotel is in a very good shape, not least regarding to the active maintain from the hotel staff.

The Rooms (we had a room with lateral sea view on the second level) have a good size and they were very clean. So the cleaning team does a very good job.

According to the number of guests, the size of the pool is good and the water is very clean and refreshing.

The sandy beach has enough deck chairs and due to the pleasant breeze it is not to hot - its perfect for relaxing and sunbathing.

There are three restaurants (main buffet, italian, tavern) which serve delicious food. The waiters are very friendly and attentive, so there is no wish missing.
With the additional main-,pool- and beachbar there is at every time a possibility to get a drink or a snack.

To prevent boredum for active people, there is a fantastic animation team around worldclass animator "Dimi", which do some functional fitness, stretching, yoga, pilates, table tennis, boccia, evening entertainment, and so on.

The hotel is rather rural located, which means there isn't a lot of trouble in this area. According to this fact, the next city Rethymno is 20 minutes away by taxi.

We had a great holiday and would recommend this hotel.

this review should be read by the resort property and not by the professional lady sitting in reception behind the trip advisory awards frame desk or by the friendly help desks at reception. this review in a very honest way wants to give an opinion on 7 days spent by me and my family in this 5 star hotel. there is a lot and a lot to improve.
5 stars does not mean being ready with a restaurant that is always open (even at night) if the choice of dishes (many) is exactly the same every lunch and dinner, in any restaurant you go to, also open bar does not mean good choice. the themed dinner organized in the dedicated restaurant or on the beach is nothing more than the revival of some dishes that you already find in the central restaurant every day. zero coordination (you see it from the little things); missing a Resort Manager who works as a watchdog; you cannot start cutting the gardens and not complete the work at least in the most crowded areas in the same period /day, same is for the sand, rakes it all, not just the piece in front of showers and beach bars; inconsistencies not worthy of 5 stars) you cannot have the rooms not cleaned and then for a mistake (room 144 day 30/08) not be ready to send someone to perform the service cleaning in the room and at 10:30 pm (was still not cleaned yet from the same morning / afternoon)forced that poor lady at the reception to put on her gloves and come and clean the room as best as possible (there is no excuse, many people, many arrivals, many departures), many people are always there all days, all weeks, all months. it is not acceptable.
the staff at work are delightful, they go out of their way and try to do their best. I repeat, there is no real coordinator who works as a watchdog. I keep saying that arrival information such as booking compulsory themed dinners or booking gazebos on the beach do not tell you and you only realize the last 2 days of vacation that you are there or we are take opportunities (they are small things but done well they make the difference between a 3 or 4 star). there is no organization, you are open in the structure and you manage (seeing is believing). It will always go well here because the planes will always arrive, the autobus will always be full but a lone tourist who does not fly on a charter here will never come there independently; believe me.
I would prefer if possible not to receive any comments on this post from the resort. it would be useless to say that we were unlucky, which happens in a moment of so many people, change of period, change of season, etc .. I personally do 2 vacation trips W.W. a year for more than 15 years I confirm that I will never return here. my experience says that the money they ask for is not worth the proposed quality (don't just look at the positive side of the coin, in front of the money spent in a 5 star hotel you have to be sure).

Dear valued guest, Thank you for choosing the Mythos Palace for your holiday and for taking the time afterwards to write a feedback about our hotel. Unfortunately, the wording of your feedback is somewhat incomprehensible, and we cannot fully understand why we did not meet your expectations. It is a great pity that you did not inform us about the points you mentioned during your week's stay. Our reception had only the information that the housekeeping didn't get into your room one day, because you had the “do not disturb” card on the door and you informed us in the afternoon that you need the cleaning service and after that we did the service directly. Unfortunately, we were not able to convince you of our house and hope to be able to convince you of our host qualities again in the future. We have been to the Mythos Palace Resort & Spa Hotel twice in August 2021 and June 2022, and the best proof of how delighted we are with the hotel is the fact that we will be there again this October. The Mythos Palace is a high standard hotel in a great location with direct access to the beautiful, relaxing, wide sandy beach with a beautiful view.
Upon arrival, we are greeted by smiling and very friendly hotel employees. The rooms are decorated in an elegant style, clean and spacious. The bathroom also smells clean and equipped with the necessary things
In the restaurant, the food to choose from is delicious and varied so that everyone will find dishes suitable for themselves. The restaurant has very nice and obliging service, it remembers us and from the second meal we felt like good friends, expected and wanted.
All hotel staff, including the manager and receptionists, were very helpful, helping to quickly and efficiently solve the problems we were addressing.
We strongly recommend this hotel.

The beach’s resort is with fine sand and the entrance to the sea is not very steep. Rich variety of food no matter the moment of the day. It is a mini club and a pool for kids. The staff was very kind, Gabriela from the restaurant was always careful with all you need. Also Ciprian from the animation staff was careful and with advice very good.

Can you imagine empty Crete? The longest Cretan beach with almost no tourists? That is how the stay in Mythos Palace felt beginning of July this year. Authentic, relaxing, stress-free, personalized, pampering, almost privatized. The world has stopped, the time has no importance, all that matters is to relax, enjoy, explore, to live the precious moments.
We had the most amazing room with huge shared pool overseeing the well-maintained gardens and the magical sunset. Absolutely worth recommending, worth every penny, especially as it felt it belongs to us! The helpful hotel team was eager to make us feel welcome with their small attentions and traditional Cretan hospitality. The long beach walks in the shallow water with sand below the salty feet very amazing and the all-inclusive refreshments after days spent playing in the sun were very much appreciated. It is an oasis for couples, seeking for good food, warm smiles, privacy and tranquility. Perfect for everyone who wishes to get reminded what the true values and thrills in life are.
Location is great to visit charming Rhetymno, Venetian Chania as well as more wild and authentic South Cretan beaches and picturesque places, such as Sfakia or Loutro.

We had a very pleasant and joyful vacation, with friendly staff, which tried to accommodate any of our needs.

The animation team had a very interesting schedule from general knowledge to “mister”. It was great experience, and Olivia actually enjoyed playing and spending time with Vasia. Greetings ti Ciprian, Tasos, Caro, Igor.

I was very pleased by the Cretan massage i had in my last day staying there.

We were also impressed about the fact that superior staff was always present overseeing that everything is perfect.

Mythos Palace is the perfect place to completely unwind, relax and forget your daily trubles. The hotel is very comforatble, staff is friendly and super helpful (I can't stress enough how much they would go out of their way to accomodate guests! <3 ). The rooms are cleaned daily, food is delicious, beach has all the accomodations one needs (including bar) and eveerything is blisfully close. There are animations during the day and in the evening, at least 2 bars open during evenings so you can skip the events too. We loved every minute of our stay. We can't wait to return!

A hotel that is far from any 5 star standard. Compared to all the hotels visited so far, it was a pure disappointment and the first holiday where I look forward to home.

Pros:
- All inclusive offer
- Beach is very nice for the conditions in Crete
- Some staff are really nice (eg. Chariso on the beach, Aristea at customer service), otherwise the service is at a maximum 3 star level

Cons:
- Minibar is the only source of normal drinks (Coca Cola, Fanta etc cans), but this is only refilled every 4 days or as in our case only once in 10 days
- Drinks are just syrupy mixed drinks everywhere else at every bar and restaurant - very disgusting and you can taste the difference
- Breakfast offers only 4 different types of sausage, no warm milk, no tasteless yogurt, no cream cheese: the same every day
- Lunch and dinner very often very cold, unappetizing, ready mixes, meat tough, almost no variety in the selection despite theme nights and much (especially sweetness) not written - you have to guess what it is
- Rooms: very old and old. I was disgusted by the bath. Apart from everything being old, worn, broken etc, after cleaning it was still with the hair from going to the toilet or in the shower, the mirror full of stains etc. The exterior door is pure decoration - you can hear everything outside. Generally very noisy the rooms. Extremely loud music until at least 11 pm and afterwards loud screaming and laughing from other guests until 1 am - impossible to go to sleep in peace.
- Cleaning: after tip the cleaning is a bit better in the room, otherwise very half-hearted; highlight: on the penultimate day the shampoo bottle was stretched with water by the cleaning lady, instead of refilled. Just ridiculous.
- Beach: as beautiful as the beach may be from the sand (but again nothing special) is as absurd the fact that they picked the loungers together as in a sardine can. Between the sunbeds there is maybe 50cm to the next pair of space and the umbrellas are much too small. If you want to take one of the larger beds in the front row, you have to pay 25 Eur per day and get a fruit plate for it, which we then thankfully declined several times because not delicious.
- Stink: Walking towards the restaurant, it always smelled extremely of sewerage, which was very borderline.
- Towels: they are also very worn and you get a maximum of 1 towel for the beach per person. These must be exchanged in the spa and it is located at the very other end of the beach - nicely hidden. You get the feeling that you want to make it harder for the guests so that they don't change the towel every day. There you have to give the room number every time so that they check how often you go to exchange. The staff at the spa (which is not directly obvious to the hotel, by the way) is usually asleep when you get there. There is a sauna that you can use, but you have to register in advance and then they still forget to turn on the sauna and you then sit in a 30 degree "hot" sauna.

For the price anyway a bust - no 5 hotels, maximum 3.

Kalispera, yes Georgioupolis is around 4km from our hotel and you can have a nice walk/run along the beach to get there. There is also a path you can take next to the national road. By taxi it takes takes around 10min.
