#1 of 3 B&Bs / Inns in Collinas
The flower and vegetable gardens are nestled in the rolling hills less than an hour from the International Airport in Cagliari at the southern tip of the island of Sardinia. Multicolored hammocks are carefully strung between the many pine trees for that afternoon siesta. A play area for children is available as well as the fish pond, Shetland pony and goats to make your stay a joy of being close to the farm. And yet, the view of the ocean is always present for those wanting to combine the mountains and sea.

We had the pleasure of staying two days with Carlos and Gilberta and we can only recommend this place. Not only because of the wonderful location, but especially because of the friendliness we found in the hosts. The place is very clean and a lot of effort has been put into every detail of the rooms. The breakfast was plentiful and a great experience with all the different types of homemade marmalade.

From the moment we arrived Carlo & his family were incredible. They spoke very little English but made us feel instantly at home. Funny informative and very generous, they were the perfect hosts. As for the B&B itself, it's in idyllic surroundings, it'sand cosy, the room we had was very clean, spacious and we even had a balcony with a superb view. You will need a car to get there but it's in a prime location for visiting the southern parts of the island. We definitely hope to go back

A personal way to move (a car) is necessary. Archeologicals sites are every where around. The beach is not so far from the hote by car (40 min). A natural reserve park "la giara" is a 25 min by car, other sporting sites are near the hotel like climbing rock walls of Isilli or mountains of Villacidro. A surpraising giants pizza restorant "a la giara" is a only 15 min by car.

This B&B deserves not less than 4 star. The reason I haven't given 5 star is due to the little choice of food at breakfast which consisted only of home made jams and marmalades. Although they were very good I do not eat so much sugar at breakfast. Of course we had teas, coffee and milk, juices and bread. As far as hospitality is concerned Carlo and Gilberta do their job with great passion and they could give lessons to 4 or 5 star hotels. We arrived at their B&B that we were very tired after many hours of driving. Carlo offered us a drink in the shade of his gazebo while our room was being made. He made us feel at ease immediately. The room with an ensuite bathroom was tiny but clean and tidy overlooking the garden which looked like a forest. Collinas itself is very tidy, I call it the garden village because it's very green and very well looked after. All the region of Marmilla deserves to be visited for its beautiful countryside and tranquillity. Unfortunately there is no much choice for eating out in the evening in the area. We went to Fra Diavolo restaurant in the near village of Villanovaforru.
