We needed to get away from the hustle and bustle and needed a place to relax and re-charge our batteries. We arrived at Kimburu Bushcamp and was met by a very friendly and helpful receptionist. She showed us our little house, explained how everything worked and left us to enjoy the tranquility of 'being' in the bush. Our visitors were 2 very friendly roosters, 3 hens, a duck, a goose and a very friendly woodpecker. 3 Raccoons, a squirrel, 2 guinea-fowls were also frequent visitors. The rooms and all the facilities were very clean and the bed were very comfortable. However, if you still want to use your wi-fi, your TV and Radio, forget about it!!! This bushcamp is for getting away from it all and quality family time.
The Kimburu Bushcamp was in the right place at the right time for me as I had been cycling up the steep grades of the N11 to Middleburg. I only made 15 kms. I called the phone number on their sign board and they responded immediately. Nesters met me at the house and walked me down to the camp. I had a nice private chalet with communal kitchen, showers and toilets. The hot shower was great after having been at two other camps with no hot water. The price was good, too at R 180 per adult.
