Imagine a setting for a break-away, a wedding or special occasion in a valley created by the Maluti Mountains on the one side and the Rooi Mountains on the other side. Cliffs coloured by nature in hues of tan, yellow, brown, black with the late afternoon sun adding that spectacular orange glow on the majestic sandstone rock cliffs and cattle, sheep and horses grazing peacefully in the abundant valley. Oranje Guest Farm is situated between Clarens and Fouriesburg, on the R711. The stately homestead for the guests and renovated sandstone barn for functions were built when the cost of building, time and space were not in consideration and craftsmanship was still a matter of pride.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The rooms were much larger than expected. Not only that, the rooms were very well equipped! The rooms had wall heaters as well as heated blankets. The bedrooms and the bathrooms were very clean. The service was very friendly. And the scenery was impeccable. You can watch the sunrise from the stoep of the guesthouse. The shower water was lukewarm, but I took the showers at 05:00, so maybe the geyser was turned off overnight to save electricity. Other than that, no complaints!

After travelling the Western Cape and Eastern Cape for nearly a month, Oranje Guest Farm was our last night on our way home. The farm is beautiful, the indoor swimming pool is amazing. The cottage had everything we needed. Braai meat and sides was arranged for us - the Pap and gravy was delicious. Was so nice to sit and watch the sheep being herded by the horses and donkeys. A wonderful experience. Will be back.

Great location and farm. The personnel made our checking-in efficient and easy while also sharing great insight on things to do in Fouriesburg and Clarens area for the family. Great getaway to Eastern Free State, offering relaxation & tranquillity as well as outdoor experiences through bike and hiking trails. Overall, a great place for a family getaway and ideal for unwinding

The accommodation is well appointed and everything you would require of a self catering establishment is available. This is the 2nd time we've been there and will hopefully return more often. The accommodation is central to both Clarens and Fouriesburg making travel between all that both towns have to offer easy.

The Oranje Guest Farm is loacted in a beautiful area towards Fouriesburg. The venue is stunning with beautiful views of the area. The accomodation was very comfortable and very clean.There is also a Wedding Chapel situated behind the Guest House which is stunning. Well worth a visit.

A chic farm getaway, beautifully decorated cottages set right up against the mountains. Amazing walks, horseriding, biking and heated pool on the farm. A definite visit when traveling through this area. There is also an option to dine in and food is delivered to your cottage which is great option if one really wants to relax!

Oranje Guesthouse is beautiful! Set in the most idyllic location the scenery surrounding one is stunning. The rooms are beautiful, well appointed and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and we are planning a trip back in the winter to see the area in a different way.
