When we arrived, we were met with the warmest welcome by people and animals alike.
Surrounded by nature and the Drakensberg mountains the grounds are kept immaculate, the rooms are spacious, clean and fitted with all necessary amenities and do not get me started on the food...
All meals were included, and boy did they feed us. The Chefs ensured we had a hearty warm wholesome meal 3 times a day, and tea served twice a daily. We all went home a little heavier…
The staff really went the extra mile to make us feel at home. When we returned from our day out there was a cake waiting for my mum’s birthday and upon leaving there was a little something from the staff next to the car to say goodbye.
Regarding Covid-19, all protocols are strictly followed, and all equipment and dining areas are sprayed down regularly.
This is a definite return trip!

The perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life - any time of the year. My kids (teenagers) loved it.. Wyndford staff always go the extra mile to make everything perfect. We also spent numerous Decembers on the farm as kids, and wouldn't trade those times for anything. Food is delicious, tea time is a spoil, rooms are comfortable,... highly recommended for a week-long visit or weekend getaway.

This has been our fourth visit to Wyndford Holiday Farm where we have just spent seven nights. A wonderful place to go for amazing food, comfortable and clean accommodation and where one can either rest, be escorted on the most panoramic walks or make use of the amenities to hand. The hospitality of the staff and attention to detail and friendships that are always made on each visit with other guests, just draw us back to this happy and peaceful place in the Free State situated on the Lesotho border.

We had some enjoyable stays at Wyndford Holiday farm many years ago and decided to try the facility again as a break and stopover on our way home. First impressions were good and staff friendly. However very little progress over the years was evident at first glance. This in itself was not a problem
The room we had was pokey with no TV. But the big problem was that there was no hot water! This was reported with no action taken. Saturday it was reported again and after checking by the supervisor on duty it was determined that it could not be fixes at that time. Still no bathing or hot water. Could a room change possibly have been recommended? – Or ablution facilities elsewhere?
A washbasin plug was dirty and my wife asked for it to be replaced or cleaned. No action was taken. On departure this was highlighted and the response was “ It was reported”. The instruction was obviously not followed up.
Over the years my wife has developed mobility issues. This was highlighted at the time of booking. The end result is that this was not fully understood and movement was strenuous at times, particularly towards the dining area. Wyndford farm is definitely not mobility friendly.
We cannot help feeling that we got the short end of the stick. Looking back it appears that securing the booking was more important for the facility than explaining the different options (TV and mobility for instance). Overall the experience was disappointing. Will we return or recommend the farm? Not sure for now. Maybe. The general feeling is that as we have now advanced to the pensioner status apathy and short changing is part of the experience at Wyndford Farm.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of your concern and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We pride ourselves in homely stays and friendly service. To help our guests choose rooms which best suit their needs, our website offers comprehensive descriptions and recent photos. At Wyndford each room is unique, with some offering mobility access and some with TV facilities. We are sorry the hot water wasn't as hot as you wished. Although our team had understood that they had resolved this for you, we're sorry to learn that this wasn't to your expectation. We trust you continue to stay safe during these times and look forward to welcoming you back to Wyndford. Like all guests, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your accommodation needs in advance of your booking to ensure the most enjoyable stay.

Situated in one of the most beautiful areas in South Africa, surrounded by sandstone mountains. Wherever you look, there's beauty to see.
The hosts and all staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are well appointed and warm with underfloor heating.
Lots of optional fun activities are offered throughout the day and evening.

I have been to Wyndford several times because of the excellent value, beauty, and relaxing atmosphere; and this trip was just as wonderful. They met my vegetarian needs with delicious food that even a carnivore would enjoy. Their staff is so helpful and friendly. I can’t wait for my next visit!

We have been visiting Wyndford farm as a family since I was a baby and now we love to take our kids there. It never disappoints. We recently had a wonderful 5 day stay. The food is excellent as always (homecooked 3-course meals with tea and biscuits in between), the people friendly and welcoming and the surroundings beautiful and peaceful. We loved the hiking and my kids enjoyed visiting the farm animals, riding the tractor and the horserides. There is never a shortage of things to do and you can keep busy but you can also relax. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather and the changing Autumn leaves made the atmosphere almost magical. The staff of Wyndford will go out of their way to make your stay more than pleasant, just mention something and they will make it happen! I came home feeling revitalized and refreshed. We will definitely be back, hopefully soon. It is such a spoil and worth every cent.

From the friendly welcome when we arrived to the fond farewell at the end of our stay we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Wynford.
The farm is old style, with lovely thatched roof accommodation with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms. It is not a modern five star destination.
Meals are taken in the communal dining room from a set menu and the food is wholesome country style. Typically consisting of three courses (soup, main and desert with tea/coffee and cheese to round it off) In between main meals there is morning tea and afternoon tea with delicious homemade pastries and biscuits.
Wynford is all about being outdoors in the most beautiful countryside indeed. Horse riding, hiking, bowls, tennis, swimming, cycling, bird watching, relaxing, sleeping, reading, running, action cricket, catchers the list goes on.
You cannot help but make new friends across all age groups.
We loved Wynford and will definitely be going back.

This is our 2nd visit and still absolutely great and value for money. All inclusive and my wife is vegetarian and they catered for her with also lovely meals.
The room was very clean and cleaned daily, nice bath and shower.
All the staff from the management to the cleaners were very friendly and the dogs - Rocky and Milly (turbo charged) and Humphrey the cat who also comes on all the walks even up the mountain to the absolute surprise of all first timers.
The guides whotake the walks are very informative and very interesting local history stories. Then the best thing is coming back to tea/coffee and freshly baked cake or biscuits.

Its important to keep in mind that this is a farm and the presence makes up part of the natural surrounds, for us, it brought home clean air, brisk mornings, awesome sunsets and getting used to eating 3 times a day with cake and tea or coffee, both morning and afternoon. The staff are now friends and the food wholesome and brings back fond memories of my youth when I worked during school holidays on friends farms.. Never to be forgotten and built an appreciation for nature and resolve. Peace and quiet, nature and location in the sandstone mountains,..... Slept well, ate well, made new friends, and hopefully also made some small contribution to everyones presence, be it staff, or other guests during our visit.. Loved it and look forward to returning again.
