3440 hectare game reserve and farm in Karoo biome with 21 species of antelope, many small mammal and bird species and some sheep, Wild Cat breeding and research centre for the Endangered Blackfooted cat, Serval, Caracal and African wild cat. Wonderful home cooked meals and very comfortable modern accommodations with friendly and helpful staff. Highlights on our game drives are Aardwolf and Aardvark - though no guarantees on seeing them as they are wild!

Detailed Reviews
We booked this stay to break a long journey and were so pleased we did. The game park is excellent for walking and the wild-cat conservation tour fantastic! Marion is an excellent host and did everything possible to make us welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the pool splendid and the evening meals excellent, all for an incredibly reasonable price. The WiFi was the best we found in our three week trip. If you are in the Karoo its well worth a visit.

We stayed for only one night which was not enough, but we had just limited time for our travel across ZA. Marion and Richard are perfect hosts. We enjoyed the cat feeding together with Marion and wonderful dinner and breakfast. If you want to see real wildlife far away from crowded locations then this is the place. The small shop has some wonderful articles available.

Judy and I visited Richard and Marian at Clifton May 2015- we have had many photo safaris to Tanzania Kenya Namibia Zimbabwe.
It is clear that small cats do not get the big press or big money afforded to the larger cats and they are often persecuted due to lack of knowledge.
I was on my third visit to them - its a great place.
The cats at Clifton are studied and well cared for and help to educate all, including visitors like us. There are no vegetarian cats there and true care for animals and all conservation must be based upon knowledge of the animals, their needs and forming practical solutions. Childlike emotion is the enemy of conservation!

Awesome spot, peace and quite, natures paradise. Wonderful cottages, simple and pleasant. Extra special bonus of cat conservation trust project on site. Here you can witness black footed cat and other small African cats being rehabilitated. Grass root conservation work at its best. Totally recommend a visit to this farm.

We were treated like family when we visited. Terrific food and company! Really enjoyed the true African experience. The scenery was fabulous and the side trips into Craddock and other farms was stupendous!

A rustic, comfortable place in the heart of the Karoo, where everything is about caring for cats and educating the world of their importance in the ecology. Too many wild cats are being killed through ignorance. A first hand close-up look at four different types of wild cats, very special.

Our family of 5 visited Marion and her cats in December 2014 and found it so interesting we recommended the experience to my parents and brother visiting from Australia. They recently stayed in the new visitor accommodation and thoroughly enjoyed their stay and the whole experience. Herewith their feedback - "Very comfortable accommodation and interesting cat experience with Marion. A must for any Karoo traveller. The conservation work you are doing is invaluable for the preservation of these much maligned and misunderstood cats. We so enjoyed staying at your Lodge and found everything interesting in your big dining/sitting area (and had the ginger cat share the fire with us!)" regards Pearl and Derek Scotney

We stayed at Karoo Predatours on four occasions. The rooms are comfortable with ensuite bathrooms. The meals, which are mostly prepared with game meat, are excellent. The meat is harvested from their own farm – definitely organic and free range. There is no TV but this adds to the sense of peace and quiet on this game farm.
A must is a visit to the Cat Conservation Trust to learn more about the smaller, less known, wild cat species in Southern Africa.
A great place to unwind. Richard and Marion were welcoming and very informative about the environment around them – we learnt a lot! Fantastic views on the game drives with lots to see. Good home cooked food! Rooms comfortable and consider this value for money.

We stopped over for the night on our way to the Cape from Johannesburg. What a find! We had an adventure upon our arrival, due to the river being in flood, getting our 87 year old Granny across the suspension bridge but Richard and his staff were so helpful. The accomodation was rustic and homely. Marion made us all feel at home and we enjoyed a yummy home cooked meal after our long road trip. Waking early to go an watch the cats being fed was a humbling experience. The work involved in caring for these cats and running the farm is emmence and Richard and Marion make it all looks so easy. We learnt so much and as avid bird watchers and photographers, the surrounds offered plenty of spectacular opportunties. We definately wanted to stay much longer than 1 night.

We had a most pleasant stay at Karoo Pred-a-tours. The location was very convenient for canoeing the Fish River Marathon as it is fairly close to the starts on both days. We didn't have to worry about catering as our hosts provided us with delicious evening meals and pre-packed breakfasts for our early starts. The rooms were comfortable.
Marion also taught us a great deal about the wild cats that they breed and return to the wild. Sadly we did not get to use the facilities much as our days were packed with the canoeing race.
