This was my second visit to this property and again i would say that it is a decent medium budget hotel in the main market of the city. the hotel staff has told us that it is one of the oldest hotel in Meerut but despite that the rooms are in good shape, recently renovated. room service is also good with tasty food and reasonably priced.

I have been staying with Hotel Rajmahal since past 4 years, my most recent visit being on 15-16th Dec 2014. Okay, let's clear one thing for once and all, this isn't the greatest hotel in the world. However it is one of the oldest hotels in Meerut (close to 30 years old), situated in best bazaar of town, has been recently renovated. The staff is very courteous and polite. Their food is good and decently priced. However, wifi isn't working 6/10 times. The older rooms aren't up to mark, so make sure you ask them to provide you the newly renovated rooms. Bed are clean and we had a comfortable sleep, despite hotel's busy street location. Overall, the hotel is quite VFM and a decent choice in a town like Meerut. Recommended.

Hi everyone. This is the 6th hotel I stayed in during my India trip. This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. And my first trip to Meerut. It is mentioned as a city but is more of a town. It was over-crowded, dusty, dirty, noisy and hot. Booked this room from Surrey via email. The stay was on 26th April for a night only. It was a double bedroom for me and my friend. We arrived from Panipat in the afternoon by a cab.The hotel is situated by the side of a narrow dirty road called Abu Lane. I was told that this is the high street for this "city". It looked and had the smell of a sewer. The room given to me was on the 2nd floor. No Lift. The stairs are definitely a steep climb. The room was small , outdated furniture and a filthy bathroom. The AC was from 1970 era but did the task very well. The room cooled within 20 mins. The room service was very poor. No keys for us because the previous tenants took the keys along with them . So I had to use the master key from reception every time. There is a bar and restaurant. The bar was filled with young teenagers drinking beer. It was awful. The noise , loud conversations and the occassional fights. We were sitting at one end of the bar and watched the entertainment. The restaurant was rubbish and we preferred to have food in the room. Now the mosquitoes....were deadly. I could see them. They were small, fast and had a sharp bite. I requested the reception for a mozzie repellant. They didn't have any. So me & my friend rolled up newspapers and started to swat the mozzies. After at least fifty mozzies were squashed....we decided to rest for the night. Fully covered except the nose..to aid healthy respiration. No breakfast provided. We have to order from the restaurant and pay for it. This was lousy. After a sleepless night...we packed up in the morning..checked out and ran all the way to the railway station. Everyone in the hotel asked for tips.....including the manager. What for ? I don't know. I was told to stay in another hotel, but it was a tad bit late for that. There are a few more newly built hotels in Meerut but I have no experience, so cannot comment. But Rajmahal.....is something else. I advise anyone reading this......please don't stay here ..alone or with family. It has no benchmarks to be called as a hotel. It would fit the title of a "lodge" or a "back packers" hostel. I made the mistake. Cheap is not the best. That is true in Britain. Same for India. I was very unhappy with my stay at Rajmahal and didn't bother to take any photos. It was a waste of money and time. Don't even bother to ask about swimming pool or gym. There is a filthy bucket in the filthy toilet. Fill it with dirty tap water and sit in it. That is a makeshift jacuzzi......!!!

We stayed at Hotel Rajmahal in Meerut one night as a stop-over on our way to Mussoorie. What works in its favour is its location. We wanted to see the rooms before checking in. The waiter took us to a room and opened it with the master key and voila we had actually entered into a room which was already being stayed in by someone for there was the smell of cigarette smoke, a half opened suitcase and a bottle of coconut oil besides other things. We quickly came out and since it was already quite late decided to check in. There was no swiping machine in the hotel and we had to venture out to withdraw cash. An argument at the reception ensued when we were told by the manager that the notes we gave him were fake! This was followed by the manager saying that he had no key for our room (citing some weird excuse I do not even care to remember) and that we could just lock the door from inside. However, there was no latch in the door and we had to spend the whole night fearing that someone would barge into our room at midnight just like we did a while ago!
We were to leave very early the next morning. We woke up to find that there was no water in the taps. This thankfully was solved almost immediately when we made the call to housekeeping. This and the more or less okay food are the only two reasons that I am giving this place a two out of five.
Stay if you want to. The choice is yours!
P.S. The room was okay. However, the television did not work. We were told that there was nothing wrong with the TV but with the local cable operator.

Me and my gf arrived here by chance, exhausted after a long ride through the plains coming from Haridwar on a bike. We found it by shere coincidence and could not have been more happy! What wonderful rooms! What a delightful deco and cleanliness in the deluxe rooms! And we got food at a very late hour that was just perfect, including an Italian Cassata and we even found some nice South Indian wine in the liquor store just around the corner! The bike we could take into the hallway/court and we had wonderful nocturnal activities including the smoking of a delicious pipe full of Manali's finest! In the morning we were a bit sad to leave for Delhi... Shukrya to the owner and the decorator and the management and everyone employed there!

I have stayed in this property during my recent trip. Hotel is situated in the heart of the Meerut city the main market although a little crowded but if you stay here overall its an amazing experience. Rooms are very well maintained, very neat and clean and wash rooms are very well maintained.
Food was also good i will not rate it as a great. The only problem is that you are not supposed to get morning tea for very early morning risers like me before 7.15 Am.
