Good night's rest in well appointed suit. We had a huge bathroom with separate shower. We were well fed come breakfast time. Enjoyed the fresh fruit salad and great omelette. Made very welcome by the owners. Lapa type dining room with large fireplace for the cold nights and aircon for the hot days.

I have been staying at Cranberry Cottage regularly for the last two years while on business trips in the area. Cranberry Cottage is the best owner operated guest house I have stayed in. The standards rooms are not luxurious but are comfortable. The normal amenities are there and the bathrooms have baths and showers and all are air-conditioned which is a necessity for the area. What is really outstanding at Cranberry is the hospitality of the owners who are there for the needs of their guests from dawn to dusk. The highlight of any stay at Cranberry is the dinner which if you choose you can precede with a couple of drinks and a lot of humour served by the owner. Dinner is a formidable buffet comprising a very wide range of South African cuisine at its best. Red meat is a feature and chicken is always available for those that prefer something lighter. The meat is prepared barbecue style at least twice a week and to miss it will be a big disappointment. I have stayed in a number of boutique style guest houses situated in the Kalahari Estate at Kathu and they have been a big disappointment. These establishments may be state-of-the-art in their design but they totally lack any hospitality. I liken the experience to checking into a hospital and being treated like a patient instead of a valued guest. Non of them I ever stayed at even had a Wifi service. Cranberry oozes genuine hospitality. The WIfI access is very good and they have a standby power generator on order so black-outs during load shedding will also be a thing of the past. My only advice to prospective guests is to book early otherwise you will be disappointed!

This is not my first stay, and will always be my first choice when travelling to Kathu. Oom Johan, Magda and Leandrie are the best. Nothing is ever too big or small to make for a great stay. Hospitality, friendliness, great food and comfortable clean rooms just make this a superb place to stay. Oom Johan's stories at the bar are the best. Thank you again!

I spent four nights here. I called making reservations over the phone with no hassles. I arrived late in the evening and after a short wait was taken to my room across from the main house. The room was clean and comfortable as was the bed. The air conditioner worked well. The shower in the morning was nice and hot, but the pressure was a little low. The linens were clean and towels changed daily.

Breakfast in the morning was really nice. Typical African breakfast. I didn't eat the dinner meal, but I was told it was a good meal.

The owners and staff were all very friendly and made the stay that much more enjoyable. They both greeted me each morning for breakfast.

The only negative I have to post is there were ants in my bathroom.

I plan on returning for a stay in the future.

This quaint guest house has really nice rooms with all the necessary comforts from multi channel TV to air-conditioners and little bar fridges.

The owner of the guest house will also look after you during dinner and breakfast time with awesome company over some really great home cooked meals.

The atmosphere is warm and the environment is relaxing and peaceful. A must to stay over in this establishment when visiting Kathu.

I have stayed at Cranberry Cottage multiple times while doing business in Kathu. It is a very good, clean place to stay with warm hospitality and good African Cuisine.
The gentleman serving drinks at the bar in the evenings is very pleasant and a top host. There are so many people staying over but after the first visit he remembers my name everytime i come through the door, which makes the experience so much more personal.

Truly a place i can recommend for travellers and business men. Good food, great rooms and good company!

I travel to this area a few times a year and always stay at Cranberry. It's a great little place, with nice spacious rooms with simple and comfortable furnishings. There's free wifi which is normallky pretty good, a tasty breakfast is included, and you can eat here most nights... and that's one of the best parts! Hosts Johan and Magda are brilliant and perfect for keeping the party going. Whether you're travelling with others or alone, you can be guaranteed a good time here. Tuesday's steak nights are not to be missed! There's free and secure parking too, and even a small pool to relax in after a day in the Kathu heat! It's a great spot and I'll continue to stay!
