The Grand Hotel Riviera, historic hotel in Salento, has been returned to its original splendour after a careful and accurate refurbishing, adding to the chain of CDSHotels. The hotel, which is situated along the coast of the Gulf of Gallipoli, offers you a unique stay in the charming and picturesque village of Santa Maria al Bagno. The deep blue of the Ionian Sea, the green of the pine forests and the lush Mediterranean vegetation, the quaint white houses and the nearby beach of fine white sand are the colours, highlighted by the warm sun of Salento which surround the hotel.

I went to this hotel nearly two years ago in July/August 2017and I fell in love with it. The facilities are outstanding with an amazing pool and mini gym. The views from the front of the hotel are absolutely stunning and the private beach is a bit rocky but very stunning and

Stayed for one weeks half-board family holiday in September 2018 through Fleetway Travel. We were so impressed by all aspects of the hotel. The evening meal was a buffet-style and the choice, quality and consistency of hot and cold dishes was superb. Each evening was themed and

New facility, opened just 2 years ago. Friendly and helpful staff even if not very experienced and not always professional. Rooms clean and quiet even if mine is without balcony (not a secondary problem when you go to the beach and you need to roll out and dry). Good location

Hi Kath Like you we enjoy walking to local villages and the Hotel is very well positioned for this. Whilst we did not visit Gallipoli, it is reasonably close to use the buses as long as you are not travelling late Autumn, as we did and the bus service had finished. We did however visit Lecce and in our opinion, it is a must. The bus service will take just over one hour and half each way. We used the Hotel transfer service with their nice new private car. I think we paid about 30 € each for the whole trip and took half an hour. This is comparative and we found better value than taxi costs. The drivers are very prompt and courteous and will arrange to meet you on your return at a central place at a time of your choosing. This gave us great peace of mind and left us to relax in the wonderful city of Lecce. I also know that they will organise transfers to most places within reach and will give you a quote if you write to them. In any case you will not be disappointed with the Hotel and location and we are determined to return. Let me know if you have any more questions we may be able to answer. Enjoy!

Hi, we went on a package deal so transfers included. It is a long way from the airport and taxis are very expensive, so I would explore getting there by train. The nearest station is Gallipoli and I think you can get there from Brindisi but you might have to get a taxi from the airport to the station and a taxi from Gallipoli. You could also look at any bus services that run to the Nardo area. It is doable but will take a while to get there.

We booked through TUI and went on their tour to Alberobello but there is a travel board in the hotel reception which shows which tours they run.

Where do you organise trips? Is there any shuttle to the remote sandy beaches and which are they?
rental cars is the best option

Hi - Do you provide pool towels? Thanks
Yes they do and you are allowed to take them to the beach. If you require fresh beach towels they do make a charge for this but I can't remember what it is.
