My husband and I came here for our honeymoon last week and could not have been happier with our choice. This resort has it all! Amazing food (seriously, I don't know what our favorite meal was), gorgeous views, comfortable and spacious villas, and the BEST guardian, Fon. Fon was lovely and attended to our every need. We were very impressed by Soneva's emphasis on environmental impact. As a tip, we'd recommend going with the full board meal option. It's worth the expense and eliminates the need to worry about what each meal or drink will cost. It also secured us better locations at the restaurants and remarkable service. The observatory is a must and we can't recommend the cinema enough. There isn't a single negative thing to to say about this resort!

Dear MandyJ445, It is wonderful to read just how much you enjoyed your honeymoon at Soneva Kiri! I have passed your comments of praise on to Khun Fon and Khun Cat, comments like these bring big smiles to our hosts. It is good to know that you found that the full board meal plan offers good value and that you enjoyed both the observatory and Cinema Paradise. We look forward to your next visit - maybe for your first anniversary? Kind regards Karin

Soneva Kiri is quite isolated and taking the small airplane was not my favorite aspect but it was worth the trip. Clear turquoise water. One of the best beach experiences in terms of service and
variety of free water sport activities on offer. You have to take a 5 minute boat ride to the beach and the transfer is seamless and convenient. We were upgraded from a bay view villa to a super beach villa. Nice touch and greatly appreciated. Rooms are rustic with luxurious details so it may shock some of the guests because it is an expensive resort. But I did appreciate the ecological rustic aspect of the resort. The resort is also not new, about 10 years old but it is very well kept. Variety of food is good but expensive so get the half board option to truly enjoy all on offer. Service is outstanding and they all really seem interested in meeting your every need and whim. They provide your own Mr./Ms. Friday who is well equipped to make your stay enjoyable and stress free. I am now intrigued to visit the Soneva in the Maldives.

Dear Lisa, Thank you so much for sharing your experience here. We tend to agree with you, North Beach is one of if not the best beaches in Thailand and every guest that goes there loves it. The culinary experience is something we are very proud of, on top of four restaurants we have pop-up experiences on a regular basis and ofcourse private dinings such as BBQs or our famous Treepod. Hope to welcome you back soon, either here or in the Maldives. Warm regards Elias Pertoft General Manager

I just came back from Koh Kood, Trat province after visiting an ultra-luxury resort, Soneva Kiri, which has the same owner as Soneva Fushi in Maldives, and are equally beautiful.

I never thought that sea in the Gulf of Thailand is also as beautiful as the Andaman coast. Specifically, from the location of Soneva Kiri, I could appreciate the beautiful sunset every day. I enjoyed having dinner at The View restaurant and watching the sunset. The food here was delicious, clean, and non-toxic because the vegetables are grown in the resort’s garden.

I also had the opportunity to see Soneva Kiri's vegetable garden, called Eco Centro. I was amazed because it's a way of life that I like, focusing on sustainability but still maintain the concept of luxury. It was very impressive. This place gave me new experiences an inspired me how to live my life.

Another great experience was diving near Koh Reat. The underwater world around Koh Kood is beautiful. After the diving, I went to North Beach, a private beach reserved for guests of Soneva Kiri only. I really enjoyed the clear turquoise water and white sand beach so that I wanted to stay here for half a year at least.

My 3 days and 2 nights at Soneva Kiri were such a wonderful time. Stayed in a spacious 2-bedroom beachfront villa surrounded by greeneries, I almost didn't want to go anywhere else. I’m very happy every time I’m amidst the nature. There is a resort’s concept that everyone has to take off shoes while staying in the resort, which I think it is cool (even though it was quite hot sometimes).

I would choose to spend my next vacation at Soneva Kiri again as I’m impressed with all the experiences that would be my lifetime memories.

Unique experiences here I would say from fresh fruits/juices, attentive staffs, free & good water sport activities, spa & tree pod afternoon tea. If you wanna stay & enjoy nature in truly remote area, you should come here. There are many activities you can do from diving, water sports (free of charge), relaxation in private North beach, good quality of seafood buffets, spa, kayaking inside mangrove etc. The shower room needs to be renovated & connect to the main bedroom to avoid lot of insects while showering.

We stay here for the second time since 7 years ago. The best experience we got is the room type” Beach front one bedroom” that is 100% perfect for us because of the decoration and atmosphere. We à are also very appreciated for the sixes that sense spa. The photographer of the hotel also done a very good job. The north beach is very beautiful and the service of the butler is good. Only one point should be improved is the taste of Thai restaurant of the hotel, The tree pod dining is magnificent both view and service but the price may be too high for the value,

Amazing experience!
Every villa gets a personal buggy (golf cart) to drive around and of course, to the beach. There're yachts, surfing, and all the beach activities you could imagine but because we want to spend time in the beautiful villa, we decided to do activities when we stay at other places instead.
You can request everything from ice to a variety of aroma pillows. There was a coffee machine and bar in the villa.
The swimming pool has no chlorine smell at all and at night some frogs jump in. The electricity was off for a while at night but the butler fixed it in no time.
The barefoot butler picks up and returns your call 24hrs and always calls your name with eye contact. All staffs were super polite if you passed by them they will stop and say hello.
The food there, however, was so-so. A bit disappointed with the Japanese-Peruvian kitchen. We booked full board but recommend you to just go there and pay for what you order since you wouldn't be able to eat that much anyway.

We booked not do long before traveling so wasn't the cheapest price for sure, I recommend booking earlier so you'd get the best price.

Always a perfect vacation at Soneva Kiri. This is the 4th time we visit the resort in 5 years. The first time there's this south beach that you can drive the golf cart straight to the beach from villa and this beach is amazingly gorgeous! Our 2nd and 3rd time, this beach wasn't accessible and the resort send guests to north beaches which is accessible via short both rides. Though north beaches are nice, they're uncomparable to south beach. We're so delighted to know that South beach is open again with our recent visit. This is probably one of the best beach in Thailand, super clear water, fine sand and shallow beach, full of resort activities in the very comfortable resort facilities.
The other experiences are also wonderful, we had private beach bbq at the small hidden beach where the setting is super romantic. The treepod dinning is one of a kind experience that you shouldn't miss when staying at Soneva Kiri. You can do treepod dinning for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner but I strongly recommend to take the dinner option as it set out to the beautiful sunset view. The view restaurant is another place you can enjoy the beautiful sunset.
All hosts are very attentive, they always call you by name and take very good care of the guests.
Everytime we visit here, there's always new things which make each vacation not the same, our 4th time is still feel like the 1st time and we're very well looking forward to the next time!

Stayed there a few years back. The hotel is kind of quiet, I reckon the best way to get there would be booking the private jet directly with the hotel. It needs to be booked via email (I think phone calls also work) at least a week in advance. If you don’t mind trouble you can also consider flying to Trat, then bus and ferry. There’s a supermarket not too far from the hotel, about 6km or so, breakfast, service and butler are exceptional, however the pool, beach facilities need to work on. Look forward to staying at other soneva properties in the Maldives. Do watch out for the mosquitoes there

Some comments for manager of Sonevakiri as resort should improve and we give only 4 star resort which is not 6 star anymore.
The host already know we are group of friends in the 2 bedrooms sunset villa before we arrive, they should set up each type of wine glasses, plates , forks spoons and amenities for 4 persons not for 2.

The butler is very friendly and on average standard however at some points she forget to inform us of activities for each day and lucky that we found out in time for those activities.

On the day we have face yoga, the trainer is no professional at all and just try to see and listen from her handphone to train us. We think this need to improve and not upto Soneva standard. That make us never want to join body stretching on the second day. Nevertheless she is nice person and friendly.

Food and dessert are delicious and no complaints . But only the waitress need more training as they bring the wrong food to us many times.

Lastly, most complaints is on departure day, when we board the plane, the butler of other villa, intention to come on the plane and booked the front row seats by putting her customer belongings on the front row seat. We don’t think this is the right way for butler to do so. We explain to her and manage to get the seats back. We think Soneva should fix seat number for all passengers instead.
Overall, we still give only 4 star resort.

Thank you very much for your very helpful review. I take note of your comments regarding your Butler and our Service Hosts. We have had a review of your comments with them and will make improvements. We have also addressed your face yoga comments with Six Senses Spa and they have promised to look into this and to make enhancements to their offering where necessary. With regards to the seating arrangements on our plane, the Butler for two other Guests blocked the front seats for a passenger who was terrified of flying but I believe you took the seats in the end and the Butler was not able to say anything to you due to the flights imminent departure. Kind regards, Antony.

After a rather strange reservation process, we made it to the airport BKK to the check-in counter of Soneva Kiri. An hour plus flight takes you to the airfield of Koh Mai Si. You are greeted by your personal butler and everything will be taken care of after that.
After a mixup of the villa type that was fixed after 1.5h we stepped into our own private sanctuary high up on the mountain with a beautiful view. The villa and the property in general are kept neat and clean, everything we touched was functioning as expected. The "bathroom" is mostly open air, consisting of 2 separate buildings one with 2 sinks and one with a toilet and dressing room. Not super functional but it looks great.
As great the service in and around the villa is, the food and beverage side was falling a bit short of expectation. Everyone is super friendly and attentive but execution is a bit lacking the standard you would expect at this level. Wines are prohibitively expensive (about 3-4 times more than you would expect in a Bangkok restaurant). The corkage fee to open one of your own bottles at the beach is a whopping 3000 Baht.
There are plenty of activities in and around the resort, so time passes quickly. Everything is planned for you and your butler is always standing by. We had a great time and really enjoyed being able to travel during COVID times.

Thank you for your review. I am happy to read that you had an enjoyable stay with us. We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with our corkage fees. We are of course in the business to sell wines, spirits and beers. This is what keeps us operating so when we have no sales, it is very difficult to continue our business. I am also concerned to read your comments regarding our food and beverage service. It is something that I have taken up with our F&B Team. Thank you for these comments. I hope that despite this, we will see you again very soon.
