What an amazing place, I can not fault anything. 1st class service from the moment we arrived. Staff super nice, friendly and accommodating. Room right in front of waterhole and had warthogs, giraffe and water buffalo drinking there. Game drives were fantastic and over the 3 days we were here we got to see everything we hoped. Lion, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffe, elephants, so many antelope breeds. It was such an amazing experience. Two 3 hour game drives a day at 7am and 3pm. Got quite cold but hot water bottles and blanket ponchos were given out. Food was plentiful and delicious with free house drinks. Also a fridge in room stocked up each morning with cold drink, wine, beer, gin. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, drinking water all in room. Loads of hot water for the huge bath tub with a view of the waterhole. Definitely recommend a stay here!!

An absolutely fab experience from start to finish. Was met by the lovely Jean-Luke and Mandy and went to check into our beautiful lodge. Omggg right near the waterhole with our own plunge pool. The food was 5 star here with a menu choice for each meal, wine, beer or soft drinks with lunch and dinner and a mini bar in each lodge. We were so surprised one night as the staff made my sister a birthday cake and came out singing to her and we hadnt said it had been her birthday recently. The lodge was so comfortable with under floor heating and a fab outdoor shower, bath and lounge area. We took 6 game drives with the very pleasant, knowledgeable ranger Martin and we saw so many animals each time. The leopards and cheetahs were elusive but we saw 7 rhinos all together at one time including a baby, lions walked right near our jeep, I could go on forever it was sooo good. We had blankets and a hot water bottle on the morning drives which were very welcome until we got warmed up by the sun. Wifi worked great here and after our sundowner safari the firepits were lit so we could sit out with blankets and talk about our funfilled days. Jean-Luke is so much fun to be around he is a great guy and will go far, we miss him already. We cannot thank the staff enough for a fantastic safari experience which we hope to repeat sometime. If you are planning a safari you need AMAKHALA SAFARI LODGE you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic lodge and excellent guest service. Very friendly and supportive staff including the Rangers. Food was excellent, rooms are very well maintained (showers could be better though) and clean. Staff and lodge take care of very minor details and are conscious of guest comfort. The General Manager keeps a good eye on the details. Good job. On the 4 Safaris we took it looked like some time was spent by the rangers in just moving around gor completing 3 hours schedule without actually attempting to show anything. This could be slightly better. Special mention of our Butler Unapi. Extremely caring and pleasant person. Took good care.

Absolutely delightful lodge with a beautiful honeymoon suite with our own hot tub and huge bathroom and bath. Staff were very very nice and helpful. Food was delicious and the safaris second to none thanks to our ranger and tracker Philip and Jeremy. Managed to see the big five minus the leopard but still incredible safaris

I had a fabulous three night stay here despite being the only guest in the hotel. The staff were very friendly especially Unathi the Butler, who was also good at saving the day when a big spider decided to come into my room uninvited! The safari drives with Nonee were fabulous. He tried his hardest to find all the animals that I wanted to see & pretty much succeeded. I saw so many animals and many at the water hole at the lodge too. The vegan food was delicious. It was an amazing break and I highly recommend this lodge.

Friends and I decided to treat ourselves for a 1 night spoil at Safari Lodge......we didn't realise just how much of a spoil it was going to be. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Jean-Luc to the minute we rolled (literally rolled out after all that divine food!) out the next day, we were treated like royalty. The rooms and lodge are 5 star, the food is 10 star (is that a thing?) - I can HIGHLY recommend this lodge for an unforgettable stay! Thank you Amakhala Safari Lodge team!

We had the absolute privilege of spending 2 very memorable nights at Amakhala Safari Lodge. From the minute we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Lucille & Jean Luc, making us feel right at home. We stayed in Lodge 1, where we had a perfect view of the watering hole and all the different game coming there at different times. Norman, the Elephant was a huge Wow Factor for us. Besides seeing him 2 mornings in a row at the watering hole, he came right by our lodge and put his trunk in the dip pool. Martin, our game ranger was a wealth of knowledge and his incredible passion for the wildlife, birdlife and plant life, is so evident. Jean Luc looked after us during all our meals and his service, friendliness was truly superb. Lastly, the Chef, who prepared all of the outstanding meals, deserves a Special Thank You. Look no further for the ultimate spoil at Amakhala Safari Lodge. Nat & Greer

We visited here in June 2019 on our honeymoon & we really loved it!! It was all such an amazing experience from start to finish!! Our room was half house/ half tent (very secured though)! It was big & spacious with private plunge pool. We were near one of the watering holes so throughout the day you got to see different animals come & go. We went on 2 drives per day. Early in the morning & then in the afternoon. The morning was a little cold & there were blankets & hot water bottles provided. It got much warmer as the day went on. The food was amazing - we ate so much! It was all gorgeous! We got to see so many animals! We had a fantastic ranger Mnomi! So knowledgable & lovely to all of the guests. We also got to do a private tour to another elephant park too. We had a fantastic experience & would love to some day do it all again!! :)
