We stayed here after completing the Lost City Trek on our G Adventures tour, so this hotel was luxurious in comparison! I really enjoyed my stay though. The shower pressure wasn't great, but that's the only downside. The courtyard area where breakfast was served was really cool. The hotel is in a great location, close to local tiendas and only a short walk from the beach area.

This hotel is basic but would be all right if it weren't for the noise. When we were there, the music from next door was so loud we could feel the vibrations course through our bodies, and it lasted all day and well into the night. Our room also had a view of the urinal across the street.

Rooms were clean and staff very friendly and helpful.
Good breakfast. Noisy area but everywhere we went in Columbia I’ve our Christmas tour was noisy, just a busy holiday time. We stayed here with a g adventures tour, looked like one of the nicest hotels in town

On the positive side - the hotel is close to the beach. But there are many negatives
Wifi doesn't work, bathroom sticks from sewer. No hot water in the shower. This is a 2 star hotel in the best case

We stayed at the Casa Holanda for seven days, eating at the restaurant for most meals. The staff were very friendly. I put a small amount of washing in to be cleaned, only 1kg which equated to $3000 pesos. When i went to collect it, the owner told me i needed to pay it before i took the clothes, so i went and brought back the money to the office and paid a member of staff and took the clothes. Over the next four days i was asked a number of times by different staff who i paid, i couldn't remember and said they should ask others. As we were checking out, the owner asked me once more who i paid, accusing me that i hadn't. i said i had already paid, but couldn't remember who. He became very aggressive, jumped up from his seat and screamed in my face continuously stating that I'm a liar, asking why i would want to steal the equivalent of $1.50US. After 8 months in south america i have never been spoken to like this. Obviously a mistake in their office, but he was not willing to listen to his customer who had spent over $200 US in a week, instead screaming at me and my girlfriend that im a liar. Obviously he has some anger management issues he needs to sort out. He may appear friendly at first, but really couldn't give a damn about his customers, which it seems like people are realizing.

Sorry, everybody has to pay their bill. You just can’t walk away without paying. No matter how many nights you stayed. But, we take this review very serious and we regret that our guests, who stayed 7 nights in our hostel and ate every night in our restaurant, left with an unpleasant feeling. We have taken steps to avoid such situations in the future.

We stayed in Casa Holanda recently for one night only as we had absolutely NO sleep. This was due to the noise from the bar next door (til1am), followed by blaring music coming from a private house a couple of roads away. To top it off, the aircon unit was the noisiest ever. Speaking of aircon, this is only available from 8pm to 8am (unless you pay extra) and the fans do not cool the room down during the day. The bed has a plastic undersheet which makes it all the more sweaty!
We were also disappointed by the staff who had been so so lovely when we looked around but barely cracked a smile once we had checked in. The breakfast was included in the 80000 COP we paid for the night but was tiny.
So if you are going to Tatanga to party - even though the hotel itself isn't a party hotel- this is your place as it is near the seafront and near bars and noisy corner shops.
And to end on a positive note, the hotel itself is very nice, the rooms are large enough and clean and there are 2 nice terraces. We stayed in room 5 and think the upstairs rooms may be cooler although just as noisy.
You can't book a room without paying in advance.

UPDATE: Casa Holanda contacted us after this review was published and apologised; they offered us a full refund which we really appreciated. Furthermore, they say they will take our comments on board and check the aircon unit and provide a larger breakfast.

I fyou are looking for a nice clean guesthouse with a friendly staff and even more friendly dutch owner (Edwin), lots of services, outstanding individual spanish lessons (in house), lots of advices for your stay and to get to your next destination, restaurant with excellent food and daily fresh fruit juices, away from the disco drum, but only one street from the Boulevard and the beach, then don't miss Casa Olanda in Taganga.
We were sorry that we had to leave.

We had a vegetable pasta at Casa Holanda at their pasta night for 9000 pesos, but that was 9000 pesos too much. The beer was good, but the pasta was terrible. Vegetables where not fresh or cooked much too long. They put a tip on the bill, but this food was not worth any tip.
We came here because we heard about good reviews of other travellers, but our vergetable pasta was realy terrible., one of the worst pasta's in our 6 month south america trip. The name is dutch, but the food has nothing to do with dutch quality.

We are surprised to read this review. Every day we sell many vegetable pastas and everybody seems to like it. We have two golden rules in our restaurant. First; if you do not like your food, you do not have to pay for it. Second; tips are completely voluntary as it says on the bill. If you do not want to leave a tip, no problem at all! We believe in our product and every day we are doing our best to keep up the high quality. Our small restaurant is completely certified conform Colombian health regulations (BPM) as well as our staff. We only use fresh ingredients of the best quality and our cooks are well trained. Even our toilets are very clean. Because of our high standards and good prices we receive many guests every day. As we read this review, we kept on wondering: why does someone, who ate his free appetizer as well as his food, leave such a negative comment on the net?

I stayed here for two very long nights in December with a group. I was in room 205 which is at the front of the hotel and right below our window is the liquor store that cranks music and serves alcohol late into the night. If you want to drink and party then go here in December! The hotel was clear and the best thing is the courtyard and the roof top hammocks but the noise is almost unbearable even during the day!

Great location and excellent value. My boyfriend and I would have happily stayed here another night after our scuba diving trip but it was already booked up. Nice patio and good breakfast in the morning.
