We took a taxi from Preveza (Aktion) airport on 20 Sept (cost 50 Euros, booked through hotel). We were greeted at the door by Zios, helpful and friendly. Our shower needed attention and it was fixed within a couple of hours. We stayed a week in room 14 which was large with lots of storage and the balcony faced the sea and taverna. The bathroom was OK. There was free Wifi and a free safe (key operated). The fridge with freezer and kettle were useful. The TV wasn't up to much as all the channels were Greek except for one from the USA. Free slippers were provided. Watch out for mosquitos! You need a plug-in deterrant. The nights were quite cool so we needed the top sheet and the bed-cover. At night a lot of noise (Greek women talking loudly came from the balconies a few feet away -…
We booked for 10 days at Avra Beach in Nydri for this month, but due to family illness, have had to cancel and will rebook for next year. We just wanted to leave a 5* review for the customer service provided by Avra Beach during our cancellation, and thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We can’t wait to rebook with you for next year!
We have stayed at Avra Beach several times , twice this year ( myself and my husband and our son and partner ). The rooms are clean , breakfast buffet is good and location excellent. The hotel is easy to find on main road in Nidri , there is plenty of car parking and the hotel garden goes down to the beach with free sunbeds. The view of the Ionian Sea ( just a few meters from breakfast area ) and the mountains and island of Skorpias is breathtaking. The welcome is very good at the hotel . We always choose to stay there : there is a taverna attached on the beach and usual Greek meals well cooked .
We stayed here 3 nights. Avra taverna and hotel has its own beach front, deck chairs and umbrellas. The rooms were clean, and adequate with separate balcony. We had a sea view, although huge plane trees covered most of the view. It was a short walk into the town centre, and further for the marina, where most of the tavernas were. Breakfast was satisfactory. We ate in the taverna, and the food was delicious.
The room was very clean and just what we wanted, everyone in the family run hotel and taverna were great and fantastically friendly and helpful the breakfast was presented well and all you could eat from cereal, fruit, toast, eggs, salad, yogurt and fruit both fresh and tinned and a selection of juices coffe tea. We couldn't fault the whole experience it was right on the beach with shallow clear water the sun beds have to be paid for as the beach belongs to the council and has to be paid for each summer by the hotels, small price to pay for an ideal location including the gardens were you can also sunbathe. It just a short walk to a great Taverna were home made traditional Greek food was served by friendly staff who were so helpful and attentive can't wait to go back this year.
