The weather was rainy but had a warm welcome at the country Hotel. Very traditional up market hotel with lots of wood panelling and creaky stairs! A through back to the 1920's, old fashioned but not fusty! Love the library and the free port. Some nice touches like cakes in the room and fruit and iced water at reception. It is a little quirky but like that in contrast to a more modern homogenised hotel. Great fun and great people working there, nothing is too much trouble! Only criticism is that the hotel car park is a bit tight!
The hotel is nothing like the photos on websites. However, the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and well maintained. This is an old hotel and in serious need of a make-over. We were disappointed in that it did not look like the photos, but definitely satisfied with the size of the room and the helpful staff. Until the hotel is upgraded I would suggest lowering the rates a little.
After seeing the photo's on the internet me and hubby was so excited to check in and have a fab time at this beautiful place but we were so disappointed. Looks can be deceiving on the internet. As soon as we arrived at our room the soonest we wanted to check out. There was this aweful stench as you enter the room and the bathroom was full of mould and the carpet was absolutely horrible. Then the owner/manager is so rude and did not even apologise. Thats the reason all the guests that was suppose to check in by Napier Hotel checked out because of his bad attitude. The only person who is the star at that place is Leticia. Very friendly. The place need an emergency makeover and a upgrade!!!!!!!
