Great find for us. Hotel is fantastic. We were in a sea view room with bed on a mezzanine. Plenty of space to relax with a superb view. The staff were warm and welcoming from the start to the end of our stay. The restaurant and lounge area are very comfortable and the food was outstanding. Can't wait to go back. If looking for a negative, and it was difficult. The WiFi drops off a lot, and walls at staircase marked with wear and tear

Stunning sea view from the FRONT of the hotel as advertised. The hill directly behind a couple of hundred static caravans was a surprise! Our Executive family suite - comfortable but tired. The food was mediocre.

Having taken the day to digest my Sons wedding yesterday, here is a review based on this experience. The welcome, service and food in the main hotel restaurant and bars was excellent. The rooms were clean and had everything that you would expect from a hotel in this class. Wedding venue/arrangements - Unacceptable. The communication and general attitude of most of the staff involved in the Wedding was unacceptable and I am lengths to understand how this side of the hotel survives. Having raised a number of issues on the morning of the Wedding with the “Wedding Coordinator”, Master of Ceremonies……….and Mr Wallace senior himself who by chance was having a walk around the grounds there was a blatant message of “take it or leave it” from the establishment and left my Son, family members and external event planners upset and angered. It wasn’t a good start to the day and reoccurred later in the evening with complaints from guests re the attitude of the staff member serving the buffet and a “cash only” service at one of the bars which was miraculously resolved after a number of complaints from guests when the other bar was closed. This morning, despite the 11am checkout, guests door cards were terminated at 10.30am which again resulted in unhappy guests having to trek up to reception to have this resolved. All of this is a real shame as the views from the sea facing elevation of the hotel and terraced Wedding area is simply stunning and once again I would highlight that the service in the main hotel and restaurant was first class with very welcoming and helpful staff.

Lovely stay on a beautiful setting. Views to die for. Amazing table service in restaurant. Will be back. Only suggestion would be to put a partician up between room 126 and the public seating area to the left

We booked the function room for lunch for a group of ladies from the Scottish Women’s Institutes. The staff were very good at accommodating our ever changing numbers. The meal was delicious and enjoyed by everyone. Many of the ladies had never been there before, but they really loved the venue and the fantastic view. The fact that there was access directly into the function suite was appreciated by some of our less mobile members. On the whole the event was a great success, and the food was delicious.

The Bay hotel exceeded our expectations! We had a girly family night away. We had a 75 and a 70 yr old smoker, a 48 and 51 yr old smoker and a 13 year old girl. The reason im mentioning smoking is that some hotels dont accomodate "us" these days. So we booked an exec family room and a deluxe double. Both with balcony. I waa here several years ago and we smoked on balcony. Thats now stopped. However my mums deluxe double is a side room with side balcony and it accomodate smoking. The rooms are spacious, warm, comfy beds, clean, just lovely. The restaurant was fab. We arrived early so had pre booked a table for lunch. It was superb! So cheap and delicious. After we checked in the younger 3 of us went to the pool. It was a bit disappointing. In desperate need of TLC. Lots of areas closed as broken. And very unsightly tape around them. Also pool totally mobbed with families! No covid in the water😆😆 The sauna and steam room was nice. Changing rooms heaving and not very clean. Anyway its shared with caravan park which we knew but def needs updated. We booked dinner and the same poor staff were still there. They worked tirelessly, were fantastic and so professional. Infact id like to make sure they get told this. Very smart, so informative and happy. Special mention to the lovely waitress ( blonde bob) who chatted to me as i mentioned my aunt had had cancer. She had been through a lot of personal issues and i felt so sorry for her troubles, she was so lovely! Again food fabulous and wine. Had a fantastic nights sleep beds so comfy. Breakfast was fantastic aswell. Cannot fault this hotel and the sea views are absolutely to die for from all angles of rooms, bar and restaurant! Cant wait to come back! Julie, Nicky, Shena,Lena and Megan ❤

We stayed here last night for 1 night and absolutely loved it. We had room 122 executive suite and the views were amazing. We had lunch dinner and breakfast in the restaurant which was all lovely and very reasonable priced. Anne in the restaurant was fantastic at dinner. I would definitely book a room with a view if thinking of going well worth the extra money. The evening entertainment was brilliant. All round lovely hotel ans staff. Already can't wait to go back.

Stayed in room 122 with my mum and daughter and we had a fabulous stay. The room was spotless, and as for the view, just breathtaking. Restaurant and bar staff were all fabulous, but a special shout out to Donna who couldn't of been more helpful. Overall, had a brilliant stay and we will be back. Many thanks to all the staff at The Bay. x

Our stay was average. Came here for my 21st, room was lovely but needed a better clean as it was very dusty, i actually had to take some napkins and dust it myself as i could not sleep in it. Would like to mention blonde haired receptionist who was absolutely lovely, as well as the ginger haired waiter, they both went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect! However ‘Janet Murray’ ruined my time spent there, she was extremely unprofessional and very unkind. I have never been spoken to like that by a “restaurant manager” ever. She did not want to help, even my question “do you know if the sauces are coming?” was met with a dirty look and a sarcastic comment. She also needs to train her staff better if she’s the “restaurant manager”, out of all the drinks we ordered i got a slice of lemon once in my drink, we actually had to go out of our way to ask for a slice of lemon and a straw absolutely ridiculous. It’s the attention to detail she is missing. She is definitely not training them right, as we also had to ASK for our table to be cleared, like who has to ask a waiter to clear a table???. Old black sketchers are also not the appropriate footwear for a “restaurant manager” in fact it reflects how professional she is and how much she cares, which is none, not one bit. I think if you’re the owner reading this you may think everything is fine but i’d like you to secretly observe her & her staff and you’ll see all the mess that’s happening right underneath your nose. hope this helps. (I will be putting this review as far and wide as i possibly can).
