Detailed Reviews
This was our 5th visit to Chalet Altitude and it would appear after two seasons of Covid, the quality and service has gone downhill
To rate the accommodation as 5 star on many UK websites is misleading!
I cannot fault the location and views from the apartment if you are lucky enough to get a high floored room but that’s the only positives.
The apartments are now very tired and need updating, the self catering facilities were poor, with a lack of basic cooking items such as oven dishes, servicing bowls, chopping boards and the list goes on!
What I would say is when we asked for items we were given them but they should already be there.
Both shower rooms were in need of repair with broken fittings in the shower that caused the whole room to become wet.
The walls were paper thin and we barely slept due to the noise all around us.
Parking reservations had changed, in the past we always got allocated a space for our apartment, not this time, so after a 12 hour drive we had to find alternative parking in the village as the car park was full!
After being a loyal customer for a number of years here, the stay was disappointing and we will not be returning.

Nice views but this is far from 4* experience. There is plenty of space but the place feels tired. We had a family apartment that slept 14. The towels we were given were tiny and threadbare, there were no towels given for the spa. The rooms are of a decent size, but several contained no plug sockets apart from the ones the lamp was plugged into so we couldn’t charge devices. There were very few hooks to hang ski gear and the doors and windows didn’t partially open so the place was either stifling hot or freezing cold. The wifi was so poor, it could not be used for accessing the internet, and there was only TV in French making evening entertainment for the kids difficult.
The kitchen is a decent size with plenty of utensils and the spa downstairs was nice and clean….but the pool was very cold and the jacuzzi was Luke warm. The Sauna was not switched on the 3 times I went down there.
All in all, this place is ok, but just about the every aspect of the stay felt like it should and could be better if someone had actually given thought to the things any modern family wants from a ski chalet/apartment. It is just a lazy approach which does not focus on the customer, which seems fairly typical of French ski resorts.
We will be sticking with Austria in future, where the overall focus on the customer is much more thoughtful.

Very nice chalet apartment, clean and modern accommodation throughout. Had everything we needed for the week, little shop was useful. Pool area small and busy in the evenings, steep deposit of €500 was a shock but overall would definitely recommend.

We stayed in Chalet Himalaya.
Chalet itself was fine, good location short walk to the slopes, good size living room with balcony overlooking the slopes. Rooms were small but bathrooms nice and everything worked fine. Great bar with open fire and pool table on the ground floor.
Espirit reps were however really, really disappointing. So many examples of poor service it was farcical by the end. Couple of examples- chalet host arrived late back from his day of skiing with his mates, bad enough considering my 3 year old nephew was waiting for dinner, but made far worse when he then had the cheek to say "I'm 45 mins late, but what are you going to do"!!! Food was poor (frozen cheesecake, burnt chips, really small portions). Kitchen was horribly dirty. Just a couple of the 10+ examples of really poor service, the reps did nothing to hide the fact that they couldn't care less about our stay. I should mention that one chalet host, Charlotte, was fine. Also the childcare was good.
Overall though, the reps were unprofessional to the point of being disrespectful. We raised this with a manager whilst in Les Arcs and three of us gave our honest and negative feedback via the form submitted at the end of the stay, we have never heard back from Espirit. Luckily the Paradiski area is fantastic and we didn't let the chalet experience ruin our holiday, but this was our first and last time staying with Espirit

Amazing stay great location. Great apartments clean and well equipped.
We had 4 adults and 4 children 8 to 10 apartments was a perfect size. Would comfortably have 8 adults as well.
Can't wait to book next year!

Lovely chalet in a good position near the centre of Arc 2000 but quiet and convenient. We had a 5 en-suite bed chalet that was well equipped and had a good mix of bedroom and communal space.
The pool/sauna/gym was superb.
Very accommodating staff. I will go back says it all.

5 families, 9 children aged 4-12. All levels of skiing ability.
From the meeting at the airport we knew we had made th right choice, and the holiday just got better. The esprit staff were amazing. We were kept informed throughout and all of our questions were answered.
Ski lift passes handed to us as we got off the coach.
Ski hire shop was extremely organised, ready with our children's name stickers.
The chalet was average, big in size but in need of a little modernisation, however if you plan on making the most of you ski holiday you won't be in there that much. It was clean and well organised but looks liked in places. 2 families stayed in #51 Matterhorn. We were greeted by Ollie, our chalet host. He was fantastic and made our holiday. He was polite, helpful, professional and brilliant all round (even saved a couple of our husband from hypothermia due to having a few too many drinks and getting lost, he brought them both home safe and sound).
Every aspect of our holiday was perfect with one exception. The transfer home.
Our flight was at 11.45 yet we were asked to get on a coach at 5.40. It is a 1hr 45min journey and even in snowy conditions it would normally only take 2hrs 30mins. When asked why we were leaving so early, we were told by Conor, our resort host, it was due to traffic as it's a busy time and snow would slow us down. Even though we challenged this he stuck to,his story and so we woke 9 children up very early and set on our way.
The journey took 2hrs 15 mins, no traffic. We arrived at Chambery at 8.27 and had over 3 hrs to kill. The checkout desk weren't even open and we had to keep 9 very tired children entertained in a very small airport, where you are not even allowed to pass through security until called, which was 20 mins before flight departure. This put a real horrid end to what was an amazing holiday. Totally understand that you need to maximise on your transfers but this was a little too much on the 'lets safe money' than 'what's best for our customers' such a shame Esprit.
All that said could not fault any other aspect of their service

We (group of 10 adults/1 child) have just returned from the Altitude complex, Les Arcs 2000, France, after staying for a week in the Belette catered chalet, with holiday company Esprit Ski.
I was very apprehensive following some previous reviews, however i have to say from our experience, they were completely unjustified.
The complex itself is well ran, clean, and right next to the button lift leading onto the slopes. We used both the Pool and Sauna, which were very nice, with our actual accomodation being just as described within the brochure. The living/dining area was a nice size, with adequate seating, with each of the 6 ensuite double/twin rooms, just off it. The view over Arc 1950 from our balcony was awesome, and as our chalet was 2 floors above and away from the complex bar - the Red Fox - i would definitely recommend this chalet for those that may be concerned about that.
More importantly, our Chalet Host (Emma) was brilliant - the food was fantastic, and the wine was on free flow... and the childrens club again ran by Esprit was great, with our little boy being looked after Grace, who again, did a fantastic job.
Definitely book this Chalet for a great holiday - however a word of warning for SNOWBOARDERS... our group was primarily made up of boarders, and found that whilst there is a vast choice of runs available, some of the reds and a lot of the blues have flat sections which leave you no choice but to take your board off and walk. This resort is by far and away for skiiers.

we stayed in chalet matterhorn with the most amazing chalet host, Harriet and went with ski esprit. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble, with catering being brilliant and adapting for various dietary requirements. the rest of the ski esprit team were also brilliant, from attentive and enthusiastic childcare and a really helpful and responsive ski esprit rep Harry. The chalet itself was very practical, living areas were spacious and it was close to the slopes and convenient for everything. The only down side was it was very warm inside at night and the sofas are a little tired looking. saying that, having not stayed here before, we are booking next years trip already!

I had the pleasure of staying in a 3 bed apartment the first week in Feb 2015.
Firstly I have to say the staff are second to none, they could not do enough for us.
This started prior to our arrival when we were kindly given an earlier check, as well as ensuring our apartment had 3 separate bathrooms.
Where the staff of Chalet Altitude really excelled themselves was when it came to coming to our rescue on the day we arrived!
Having driven through the night from the UK, despite having snow chains we failed to make it up the mountain due to the enormous amount of snow that had fallen in the last 24 hrs.
Our car was stranded 6 miles away from the apartments, along with all our luggage and equipment for the week. Most hotels would not have gone above and beyond like Chalet Altitude did.
They kindly sent our very own knight in shining army the resident maintenance man 'Fred' to rescue our luggage, load it all up into his van and deliver it to our apartment! His kindness did not finish there, he went looking for new snow chains for us to be able to make it down the mountain again, and on departure day he brought all our luggage back down to our car 6 miles away and also spent an hr digging it out of the snow!!!
I cannot recommend these apartments highly enough, and not just for the fantastic service, the location was excellent, apartments had everything you could need for a comfortable and memorable stay.
We will be back again next year, this time more prepared for the mountain roads!
Thanks again to all at Chalet Altitude for their help and kindness.
