The accommodation is most acceptable, clean and spacious. The male staff are very attentive, the female staff on the other hand are lazy, ignorant and difficult. This place would be wonderful if it honed in on better customer care. Using cleaning products while guests are trying to eat breakfast is poor. The breakfast selection on the last day was a joke and when I asked for a full continental deselection I was advised there wasn’t any despite the hotel being fully booked for the upcoming weekend!
Thank goodness for Anton and Caesar, they worked tirelessly to accommodate their guests and always with a broad smile.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this beautiful lodge. From our arrival to the check in we received an excellent service.
Unfortunately, due to one of our guest being disabled we had to ask for a room with an accessible bathroom which meant that staff had to rearrange all weeks bookings to accommodate us which was done with no issues. The accommodation was prepared within an hour which was really helpful and really made a big difference in our stay.
The food was cooked to order and was always fresh, staff were attentive, friendly, kind and always made sure we had everything we wanted, rooms and all of the surrounding areas (including pool) were cleaned daily. I would advise to have breakfast included with you booking as it was SO FRESH and TASTY, all cooked to order and served with smile :) We also had dinner on the first night of our arrival and it was really lovely. If you like cocktails I would advise their mojito - I have never tasted anything like this in my life.
I would say that the lodge is difficult to access for disabled customers so if you have any mobility issues contact the lodge before you make your booking to avoid any disappointment.
Game drives - don't waste your money on safari if you travel with your own transport. It was a killer 4.30 start and unfortunately we did not enjoy it as much as we did when going in our own car. We also travelled later and saw way more than at 5am.
Otherwise, you will have a wonderful stay in the most perfect location :)

We spent one week at this Lodge. We enjoyed everything about it. The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful. They all went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Unlike an earlier review we did not find any of the staff inattentive. Accommodations were very comfortable, clean and well stocked with towells, toiletries and beverages. . Thank you to all, we look forward to seeing you again next year.

Expected a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the crocodile river, instead got a tiny claustrophobic room with the air on and fridge not working. After travelling for hours, we were moved to a hastily half cleaned unit at the back of the lodge at 21h00. No toiletries or tea/ coffee. I had to go to our vacated room to get tea. My view was a unkept courtyard and dirty table and chairs.
We were compensated for the inconvenience by the manager by offering that we do not pay for dinner, a dinner that was very basic and honestly not up to what they would have charged us.

The lodge is situated in a park with roaming wild animals. Impalas and warthogs visited the lawn in front of the hotel. Great experience. The service was great and the manager really nice and almost always available. The food in the evening was good and plenty. The pool was cold but clean. The room was big. Safaris were organized by the hotel staff.

Our family was robbed during our stay at the lodge – we were told by the staff and police after the robbery that the safety in the area has become a concern in the past couple of months. It was clear that the owners of the lodge did very little, if anything, to ensure that their guests are safe. Furthermore, they have removed themselves from any responsibility to cover some of the items that were stolen even after committing to assist us in covering some of our stolen items.
I would definitely not recommend this lodge to anyone.

I booked a room at Crocodile Kruger Lodge in Marloth Park in December 2012 to celebrate the night of my wedding with my husband on 13 October 2013. We confirmed this booking two weeks before the wedding. We also booked the 6-sleeper house for our wedding party from Thursday 10 Oct to Sunday 13 Oct, so we were present at the lodge the entire weekend, available for any communication if there were problems with our booking. When my husband went to check us in, we were told that our we were double booked and the other party was in OUR room, but we could stay in the 6-sleeper. When he asked to put the people who were NOT celebrating their wedding night in the 6-sleeper, they refused and said they would throw in a free dinner. The price of the dinner was included in the room charge so was already paid for. They then offered a bottle of champagne for the trouble. My husband explained that it was the room or a refund. They chose refund. 48 hours later, we have had no refund, no phone call of apology and no attempt at compensation for ruining a night that can never be replaced. The manager's name is Jaques, and their number is 0825708172. I suggest you cancel your bookings now to avoid the same disappointment.
If anyone is thinking of visiting Marloth Park, please do, it's a wonderful place, just don't stay at Crocodile Kruger Lodge. There are many wonderful lodges with wonderful staff including Maqueda, Grand Kruger Lodge and the Kruger Inn Backpackers. Crocodile Kruger Lodge is a disgrace and they should be ashamed at their utter disregard for their clients.

Response from ABRILR, Owner at Crocodile Kruger Safari Lodge
Responded 23 Oct 2013
We apologise for the booking mix-up. We did offer them an upgrade to a bigger three bed unit that they did not want to accept. I personally spoke to them and we had e-mail correspondence where I did apologise for any inconvenience ,where after I made a refund for the one night that we couldn't accommodate them in the room of their choice due to a problem that occurred with our booking system. They demanded a refund for the four previous nights that six of their wedding guests stayed with us. We refused this and therefore this unfair comment. Please note that they did not comment about their stay with us as they did not stay with us themselves but used our facility for some of their guests. I request all travellers to have a look at the other recent comments on Tripadvisor to get a true reflection of what we are all about.

We stayed 2 years ago as the finale of our dream vacation ( 5 weeks ) to hang around Kruger for a week. We loved our experience here so much we came back !
Crocodile Kruger Lodge is a big part of why we returned. So close with easy access to the Kruger National park.
Having loved it so much we wondered if our memory was a bit off. To our delight it was better than the first time. They are always improving things !
This time we had our own car and rented the suite with the kitchenette, its much nicer than the photos show online. It was a bit of a dream place for us as it has its own huge private deck and braii, they even started the fire for us when we wanted to BBQ / Braii
Lots of game were next to the fence in mornings when enjoying coffee amongst the singing birds. We had our own heaven & with privacy,,, blisss,,,,
30 seconds walk and your in the lodge, if you want to use the pool, lounge around at several spots. The most popular is the balcony on the 2nd floor that overlooks the pool, courtyard, watering hole and the Crocodile River with Kruger park in the background. A beautiful & magic setting. Bring your camera !
Always people there sharing their experiences with such joy and happiness. Lots of room to spread out. One wants to find out what others saw and experienced.
One never knows what you might see, from nothing
,,,to WOW look at the Rhinos & Elephants. Even Lions at the river & lots of Hippos when we were there.
Or having Zeebra, Warthogs & Giraffe, grazing while you have an elegant romantic dinner on the patio overlooking the lodges own small watering hole. Marloth park is gated and protected by electric fences with NO predatory animals, its just wonderful too see and experience.

Jaques the chef and manager is a special person who really cares about your experience and works his butt off to give you a unique dining experience every night. Every meal is prepared from scratch, enjoy African culture with his unique touch and Passion !
We were lucky as every evening you could dine outside under the stars with candles in an elegant and romantic setting. Lots of room for everyone from romantic couples, gals and guys groups to families enjoying their special vacation.
The lodge is well set up in that there are many places where you can each have your own social area, 3 spots on the 2nd floor patio, a lounge and TV area off the bar, and a 2nd bar with a view of the pool. Of course the living room on the main level as well as several sets of patio furnishings around the pool.
Down a few more stairs is the large main outdoor dining area where they have a lovely fire at night, during the day lay back on one of the lazy loungers and read a book. Or walk around the grounds to take in mother nature.
Lots of room at the entrance for parking your car in the shade ! Yes they have covered areas for this. They will even wash your car if you want. Wi fi in the lobby and bar next to the front desk.

I can't say I have ever stayed at a place where I had so much fun, enjoyed such great food and did not spend that much. Jaques has a super wine list and knows his wines. Your better off to just ask what he would pair with the food, the wine is never expensive either.
On Saturday night they had what they called a Boma night, it was a lovely outdoor setting across from the entrance, fenced in with artful items on display along with nice lighting, a big fire that no one had to sit close to. Jaques prepared a traditional Potjie dinner, this is a meal that takes an entire day to prepare, its cooked slowly ( 5 hours) in cast iron pots, done over the coals of a fire. Jaques had special small pots, one for each person, it was delightful ! Its not a stew but similar. Better than stew ! Home made bread to die for.
He even made some home made beer ( included for free) that we all got to taste, it was nice. Once the meal is served the staff come out and perform. They dance and sing with drums etc around the fire. Join in, dance, clap and sing if you want.
It's just so special to take this all in while under the stars. 5 star rustic dining !! Thank you Jaques its really appreciated. In the end we got to cook our own marshmallows then dip them in some special chocolate he imported !
All in all we enjoyed ourselves so much we are changing our next years plans and will again fly for 3 days to get to this spot. I would think for some after reading my review it might seem over the top like an expensive 5 star place.
For me it was even better than that in that its small and personal. Every time we asked for something it always worked out. We truly felt at home and slept so well. And on top of that the price is so reasonable. I can see prices will go up over time as this place will only get busier. I have included a few of photos of the lodge and grounds as well as some of my best photos of our last day as we spoiled ourselves and went on one of their Safaris so we did not have to drive. "Killer" our guide (Albert) known for finding kills, he did the magic. They have a new perfectly made safari vehicle. Lucky us. We saw the big 5 in one day ! Shared with a nice family from France. We will for sure next time use their Safari services again as the price was very reasonable. We saw 2 sets of Leopards, a Lion kill, Rhinos, Elephants, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Water Buffalo, Zeebra, tons of Antelope, Crocks and so much other wildlife its hard to remember it all.
Many thanks to Jaques and his staff for a truly memorable stay :)
Keep up the good work :)

The lodge is in an excellent location, quite near to one of the entrance gates Kruger Park. The view from the lodge is spectacular and many animals come within seeing distance. The room was very comfortable and the service really good. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and management. The meals at the lodge were of an excellent quality and the menu varied. We enjoyed an early morning game drive and saw the big five along with many other animals.
