I can really recommend Mvuradona Lodge, the service was great, the food delicious and the Lodge was very clean and well kept. The location is also fantastic, with a view of the Crocodile River. We enjoyed every minute.
Choosing to visit Mvuradona Safari Lodge, in Marloth Park, right next to the Kruger National Park will prove to be a highlight of your holiday or weekend away. The Lodge is set in unspoiled environment and offers overseas visitors a real taste of Africa. The Lodge is perfect for a family get together, and having 8 bedrooms ensures outstanding service, and with lock down, the absolute perfect or a long weekend getaway. My family, without exception, enjoyed the delicious meals, comfy beds, beautiful crisp linen and the game that wondered into the Lodge grounds. Ryhan the owner of the lodge is a qualified and very experienced game ranger; so the cherry on top of your stay will be to see most of the game in the Kruger Park on a morning or late afternoon drive! A most highly recommended stay!…
I was pleasantly surprised by the Marloth Park area. The entire time of our stay we felt very close to the wild African nature. We were greeted several times a day by various wildlife who freely approached the resort (but don't worry it was totally safe). The lodge offered many good options in regards to outings. We chose to do one full day safari and then a couple of self-drive safaris on the other days. While I enjoyed my full-day safari I must admit that the guide we were given was not the best. We shared this with the lodge and learned that she wasn't the full-time host. If you do the full day safari I would recommend asking if you can go on one of the days the owner leads the trips. I have heard great things about him! And I know for a fact he has some incredible stories! During our stay, we were very pleased with the food. The breakfast was a little different each day and always tasty. The dinners were also very satisfying. We chose to not eat at the resort every night just because we wanted to experience other options in the area. You could choose to eat at the lodge every night and be very happy! There is a great variety offered throughout each week! The only negative for me during the stay was the tension between the staff. Living in Norway I must admit that the South African culture was a bit rougher than I am used to (I am not saying it is bad, just very different from what I am used to). While the white management staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, it was the black support staff that truly made the time at the lodge special! They were some of the friendliest people I have engaged within such a setting and they were always willing to be helpful. I was grateful to have such great service. The tension I spoke about was obvious on several occasions during our stay and left me feeling a bit awkward. I do not want to share any details but it was a challenge during my stay. It is entirely possible that this atmosphere is present in every lodge as it might just be cultural. Overall I really enjoyed this lodge and for the price, I imagine it is hard to beat. It is small and cozy so you will not feel overrun by hundreds of guests.…
We thought that the lodge is a scam because we couldn't believe that the pictures would be reaL. The second we stepped in everything was just like the pictures or even better. No words could describe how amazing this place is. Very helpful before we even arrived and replying to the email very quickly and really accommodating us! After we arrived we were welcomed with drinks and then taken to our room that is absolutely authentic and very cosy. The room was very very very clean even better than 4 stars hotel we stayed at in the city. Everything was available in the room and we just did not want to leave it, we were even welcomed by complementary drinks and snacks! the dinner is made with love! It's a three course and they also asked about our diet and if we have a certain diet. the food was very fresh and delicious. As we were having dinner we saw at least 3 different animals passing by and it is absolutely so beautiful. Last but not least, the staff of this lodge are amazing, they are always smiling and really made us feel very welcomed and truly at home! I LOVED THIS PLACE and if i can go back in time I would have stayed longer. We didn't have time to do the activities they provide but they provide so many activities that sound very nice! …
Unfortunately during my stay at the hotel, my belongings were scrambled and stolen 2 watches and wedding rings. The hotel staff said that nothing could do with what happened. Very disappointing. The hotel and services are good but this was terrible for me.
Not fully what I expected upon arrival. As I shared a room with my mother the shower in the room wasn't ideal. Food portions were huge and very tasty. The room was clean and cosy and most staff were lovely.
At the bank of Crocodile River, the lodge gives you that peace of mind and an experience to a safari at your door step. Relaxing on the poolside whilst looking at the animals. My wife and I spent 2 nights there and it was wonderful. The staff was warm and friendly. we opted for a half day safari in Kruger but felt it was a bit short. The only lowdown was the leak on the thatch roof in the Honeymoon suite, our second night was a bit uncomfortable due to the leak caused by excessive rainy weather. Overall, it was a good stay at the lodge and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
We stayed two nights at Mvuradona Safari Lodge and really enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful lodge where you can sometimes see different animals in the garden like zebras, warthogs and gnus. There are only seven rooms and the service was great. We enjoyed the dinner at one big table with other guests. We can also recommend the open vehicle safari tour in the Kruger that was organized by the lodge. Thanks a lot!
Mvuradona is well located on the edge of the Crocodile River and a short drive to the Crocodile Gate to Kruger National Park. However if your unable to visit Kruger don’t worry as animals like zebra, warthogs and kudos visit right up the outside seated area at the lodge itself. Animals like giraffe, hippo and lion can regularily be seen on the other side of the river from the lodge. The lodge bedrooms are comfortable and well appointed while the lounge and dining areas have a relaxing retro colonial ambiance.
