Originally built as a farmstead in 1747, Battlesteads has recently been converted into a comfortable Northumbrian Inn and Restaurant complete with secret walled garden and sunny conservatory. The 22 rooms are all en-suite with colour TV, hairdryers and ironing facilities. The restaurant features mouth-watering home cooked dishes using top quality, locally sourced produce. Easy to find and park, friendly efficient staff, lovely atmosphere in bar with good ale,
terrific food local and grown on site. Such an interesting place so take a tour of the gardens, polytunnels, biomass boiler, solar panel and observatory.

Just back from a couple of nights here. Had a night at the observatory which was very good. Food excellent but it's the staff that make the place. Such a lovely welcome and great, friendly service throughout. We hope we'll be back again soon.
