Beautiful lodge with a sea view and beautiful large rooms that were in perfect condition. Friendly owners who are very helpful in providing information about the area. Very tasty and extensive breakfast. Large swimming pool and beautifully maintained garden.

The rooms are pretty, clean, large and comfortable. The view from the Restaurant, Pool area and also our balcony in the sea is amazing. The breakfast is fresh and lovely and the owners were really helpful. The footpath to the beach requires some climbing, but is close and you could also take the car to another beach.

What a pleasure to spend our holiday in such a well managed establisment. Heidi and Gerhard went out of their way to make guests welcome. Rooms are super clean, nicely decorated and excellently maintained. Breakfast and coffee exceptional. Fantastic view and will definitely be accommodation of choice if ever in Cintsa again.

What was supposed to be an enjoyable stay in this hidden paradise has become a nightmare for me. The man of the place has treated me with such unexplainable hostility and disrespect that has forced me to complain and ask for cancellation through Booking.Com, and to write this review. These are the incidents I have experienced; on Monday this week I had a friend of mine who came to pick up stuff from me whuch I had brought for him from Joburg. We were sitting together at the lounge when me and my friend noticed this unfriendly look by the man owner. He kept moving around as if he wants to say something until my friend had to drive out of the parking he had used when a booked in guest arrived. Two days ago after 11pm I arrived and found the place in the dark. I opened to get in and to lock. As i was struggling in the dark to lock, the man came down with the torchlight and in an irritable voice told me I'm not supposed to lock the door. This was the second time I was feeling this irritation with me, which I still ignored. Yesterday I had breakfast and also had to join a virtual meeting. No issues. Today I did the same, but decided to move to the lounge area as I didn't want to disturb the other guests. The lady of the place came to me and told me to go back to the main table as eating was not allowed at the lounge area, and I obliged. Then I was rudely interrupted during my breakfast meeting by the man to be told I should stop my meeting as I was disturbing the other guests. I told him his wife told me to come back and eat my breakfast from there. He then angrily shouted at me to stop, and I told him I'm in the middle of a meeting. He moved away and then all of a sudden the Wi-Fi was cut off. The man has been rude and unfriendly to me for no inexplicable reason. Now I'm battling to cancel with a refund as I cannot stay in a place where I feel unwelcome. The guests who were with me during breakfast will hopefully be my witness to this horror show.

My husband and I set off on our honeymoon down the Wild Coast on 16 December. When we arrived at Cintsa Lodge on 21 December we were welcomed by a locked front door, an Alsatian tied to a rope and another one barking at us inside the house. My husband rang the bell with no response, he tried again, and at last he rang the 'night bell'. The owner, Gerhard, eventually opened up and greeted us with “What is wrong with you? You only have to ring the bell once!”. I then replied with “What is wrong with you?” since we have not been welcomed in this manner at any of the other places we stayed at. Ignoring the rudeness, my husband said that we’d like to check in under our married surname – I called the week before to change the surname I booked under and was told that it’s irrelevant. He then rudely asked whether we booked. As my husband was signing in, Gerhard said to him: “If you wife does not want to stay here, you can find other accommodation.” Of course we decided to rather spend the night elsewhere than stay with such an arrogant and rude host. Never have we been treated so disrespectfully. Please do not support this guest house!

Wilkommen and Gemuchlicheit are not in Gerhardt's vocabulary. Rude, Insulting and Crass certainly are. The Owner should not be in the Hospitality Industry. There are many Rules and Dictates Imposed. Cintsa itself is Full of Happy, Hospitable and Friendly Establishments. I have stayed at Prana Lodge (Luxury) as well as Buccanneers (Backpackers). Both were exemplary within their genre. Cintsa Lodge was not.

We stayed in this guesthouse for 2 nights and really loved the room and excellent breakfast. Most of the customer facing work is done by Heidi - the wife of Gerhard - who could not have done more to make our stay more enjoyable and accommodate our other needs. Sadly as was noted in another review below, (and I fully acknowledge this could be an English language and cultural thing - as German is his first language) - Gerhard managed to offend the friend who I was staying with, with his very abrupt rude manner - and we left feeling quite uncomfortable and not too keen to return.

The views are magnificant and the pool area lovely. Decent breakfasts too. Other than that we found the dogs a nuisance, with doggy smells pervading the lounge. Although quiet, this is not a relaxing place to stay because you feel as if you are imposing in someone's home. In other words they are running the place to supplement the pension, not as a business or with any passion. The owners didn't engage with us and offered zero suggestions for things to do, places to see etc - the info folder in our room was out of date, giving details of places to eat that were either closed down (two) or not open at the times printed in the folder. Cintsa is a lovely spot, but do yourself a favour, avoid Cintsa Lodge, save some money and get better service and more fun down the road at Bucaneers. We had lunch there one day and know people who've stayed, whilst rough and ready, it's a whole lot better than C. Lodge.

European clean style with lovely finishes. All recently done and well maintained. Exquisite pool area if you hit the weather right. 10 min walk down to a beach that goes on forever and is breathtakingly serene. Breakfast delicious, health, fresh. Only knock is that owners are not engaging, one has poor English command & smokes (not in house but odor lingers), 2 huge furry dogs=allergies and smell.
