Checkin was friendly but not fast as they could not find my reservation. Eventually, I got a room, but at rack rate. This was a big disappointment !

Room however was spacious and very nice. Everything was in good condition and not worn down.

WIFI worked well, but was not free.

Breakfast was very good with eggs cooked to order. Also selection of other items was good.

Hotel is next to the casino. Still there is no noice to be heard. Reading the reviews on Tripadvisor this is a much better choice than the Travellodge also being close to the casino. However, price tag is not the same, but I guess you pay for what you get.

We have stayed here a few times and with different restaurants including the casino's buffet restaurant, casino, theatre, tenpin bowling, movies and swimming pool there is lots to do and next block there is a shopping mall as well. Their breakfast is served on lower floor overlooking the garden and swimming pool and they cater for every taste from curry roti to stir-fry to your Traditional English breakfast can't go wrong and all very tasty served by very friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms have baths and separate showers. We always enjoy our stay and enjoy trying the different restaurants every day without having to drive any where! Also close to Airport.

Nice cosy hotel within Carnival City. Adjacent to N12 freeway and easy to locate and access from all directions. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The casino and entertainment centre is only a short walk away.

What a disappointment for our 18th anniversary.we asked them to make it quite romantic with our room flowers or chocolates . We gave them our arrival time as well. we waited for about an hour before our room
was ready. There was no apologies or any special effort put in to make our stay iworth the while. as a Togo sun frequent guest for
many years I thought I would like to try the sun international group. I will never join their rewards program me as the poor service received. My advice is keep to the sun group is stick to the casino business

I have never written a review before, let alone a bad one, but I have to share this for the safety of young females like myself traveling alone. Its 03:31 right now and I cannot sleep because about two hours ago someone tried to open my door. Thank God i was not sleeping heavily so I immediately heard someone struggling with my door and i jumped up and starting yelling. I then heard the footsteps of someone running away and by the time I got to the door there was no one in sight. Needless to say I'll be checking out today, i initially booked for four days. Again I must say I do not like writing bad reviews but since I'm here I might as well share my whole experience. I would not recommend this place at all. The staff is very friendly and that is the only good thing about this place. Check in took very long but I understood because it was the system and they tried their best to assist me. The beds are filthy. When i walked in I immediately noticed a stain on one of my single beds. I always check the beds inside and as I opened the other twin bed it had what looked like a crumb in the bed. I'm not in their bed, i just could not do it so i had to get my own blankets to cover their bed. The tile area is dirty and stained too with a lot of ants on the tiles. Please do your research when you make bookings online and avoid booking for more than even one day if you do not know what the place looks like. Book for one day and if you like the place then you can book for more days but if you don't then you can easily leave. I stayed here on the 24th of April 2016

The good, clean, spacious rooms were a pleasant surprise. Very conveniently placed with easy access to the casino, you are welcomed by very friendly door staff. Wonderful bathroom with complete amenities.

The booking process is not simple at all as you cannot book online, a hotel needs to keep up with the times. You can only book via phone calls, which arent always answered, as emails are not responded to. Once your booking is finally made you do not get a confirmation email which then resulted in my booking being made for the wrong day. This was only discovered on arrival and luckily there was availability to accommodate us.

The breakfast is terrible. On all three occasions we have stayed at this hotel, my partner and I have ordered different items off the menu and we were disappointed each time. The menu description sounds fantastic but when the food arrives it is not visually appealing and all - tasteless and not at all appealing in smell. It does not appear fresh, yet it takes quite long to be prepared. Finding hair in ones mushrooms was the final straw, with no real response from the waiter. And this at R120 per person you are better off with a Wimpy breakfast at the mall next door.

The room may be 4 star but the breakfast is the deal breaker.

Room tip: If you are middle-aged or elderly ask for a room close to entrance as certain rooms are quite a far walking distance.

After many years my husband and I looked forward to spending some stress free time together. However, our vehicle was stolen from the Road Lodge at Carnival City on Friday morning. We were both shocked and devastated as the hotel has boom gates with spikes and security cameras. How is it possible to steal a car without setting off the alarm and drive it without a key?
The armed response arrived as well as the Saps. The car was recovered thanks to tracker. Unfortunately the car is ripped apart and all valuables were stolen including our wedding clothes. I expected a lot more from the hotel. Security needs to be stepped up as soon as possible. To date no response or update has been received from the hotel security. We were stranded in Johannesburg for the entire week until the vehicle was recovered. It seems that many cars have been stolen from the lodge.

The carnival hotel situated @ carnal city cnr R23.
N17 in Boksburg is a spectacular 4 Star Hotel, beautiful taste in the room architecture good spaces, nice sweeping pool, lots of interlinking rooms good for big families and couples, big flat screens and TV stations with many languages good for international tourist who want to keep info on what's happening back home. 24 hours room service typically of 4 star hotels bath and shower in each room and fridges, suites also available. Normally 4 star hotels have face cloths here there is none in rooms so bring yours also good for hygiene. Breakfast standard and environment super, the casino and events area just opposite the hotel and Road lodge hotel within a walking distance.

Stay for 2 nights during June, 2 adults 1 child.

No proper bedding for child, no adequate blanket, pillow and towels for 3rd person.

Room service poor. Had to wait more than 3 hours to be serviced, after several calls to room service..

House keeping a mesh - had to wait for almost a day for any towels, the unit was towelless for the period.

No hot water in the morning, only cold showers.

Breakfast average to poor

Hotel management shown no real interest in addressing these issues.

Loved the room. Spacious with all the necessary amenities. Bedding fantastic and everything worked fine. Did have an expectation of bath sheets and maybe a complimentary small bottle of water. Close to the main complex. No covered walkway from the hotel to the main complex unless you want to walk through the smoking casino (naturally it was pouring with rain during our visit). Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a dissapointment. Staff friendly but felt like the kichen was not on site? Long wait for coffee and hot meal. Will most probably not visit again.
