We went from London to New Forest for a Family wedding for a few days . Bartley Manor was just amazing . The location is just so handy to get around the area . On Saturday after the church wedding ( nearby) friends and relatives came back to Bartley Manor for the Wedding Reception. *. What a setup and the weather was fantastic . The staff were very courteous and helpful throughout our stay for two nights . When we first checked in , and one of the receptionist - Louise asked us if she could help us with our luggage . We were very touched and were so pleased for her offer of help as we had loads of luggage because of the wedding attire . From there on , we were well looked after . * wedding Reception Back to the main event . The canopies, welcome drinks well organised . The wedding breakfast was sumptuous. The party went well into the early hours and the brekki was fantastic the next morning. The General Manger - Norman introduced himself right at the start of our stay and was most accommodating. He ensured a very smooth event throughout . We would like to show our appreciation for the management and all the staff at Bartley Manor . WELL DONE . Keep it up . We would definitely visit here again . Ahhh by the way when we checked out on Sunday morning, we drove to Avon beach before heading back to London on Sunday late afternoon.

Our first outing since lockdown Certainly didn't feel Covid safe nothing showing room was clean to Covid standards and sealed and despite being told no one would enter the room during our visit unless we requested it a gentleman came into our room unannounced early in the morning No WiFi in our room Room was rather tired and the bed certainly wasn't king size We had an afternoon tea using a Virgin voucher and as the waitress felt it necessary to mention that we felt a bit like second class guests The manager heard my husband mentioning some of the issues and applogised - asking for a chance to show us how they did things - this amounted to an email offering us a good rate midweek off peak if we contacted him at least a month in advance All in all a very disappointing visit

Dear Jumbo Surrey, I am very glad we were able to discuss this with you prior to your departure. Despite the overwhelming positive feedback we get and we are very proud of, it is always very disappointing to us when a guest has a less than perfect stay. The senior team discuss all feedback on a daily basis, as putting the guests at the heart of everything we do is always our top priority. On the specific points in your feedback, the WIFI was not brought to our attention until departure and apologise a team member attempted to deliver room service to your room which was a genuine error. Our website strive to be really clear about the room types we have to offer, there are pictures and description of all rooms . I am sorry if this was not clear and did not meet your expectations. I am delighted you enjoyed the afternoon for which we are renowned for and it is our policy to ask for the voucher on arrival. We normally get great feedback on the comfort of our beds, I am sorry this was not to your satisfaction We take all feedback incredibly seriously, and are always grateful for the opportunity to listen to our valued guests. As already mentioned, I am glad that we discussed this feedback directly at check out, after this the review was posted. I am glad we resolved this and you were happy with the resolution provided. Warm regards, Norman Cardoso General Manager

Work colleague leaving the NHS after 42 years! Bartley Lodge staff and manager couldn’t have been more attentive. Plenty of refills on tea and coffee….. amazing afternoon tea…. Catering for several different diets. We really enjoyed ourselves….. loved being outside on the terrace too. Thank you

Disappointed to say the least, if they put your in room 17 ask to move, room is large but extremely dated. On arrival in the room there were cobwebs round the window (not a huge issue) and 2 dead spiders in the corners of the windows- cleaners should have picked this up. Tele has no sound, bathroom is from the 60s no power to the ‘power shower’. Toilet makes a horrific noise whenever flushed, website states king size beds was a small double. Defiantly not even a normal size double as we have this at home and is not as wide!! Curtain grubby and frayed all over. Furniture is grim- wooden again from the 60s - pieces of wallpaper at the bottom of the draw trays, very cheap. Plastic cups wrapped in a plastic bag, very cheap. Not value for money whatsoever. The list could go on!! I will say one of the girls on reception was very pleasant when we mentioned this but couldn’t move us due to hotel being full. Offered 20% off drinks when we eat at the restaurant which was all we could accept. Overall very disappointing as website is very misleading in how they sell rooms- some may be refurbished but ours seems forgotten. Looking forward to leaving tomorrow, which is such a shame as the New Forest is a beautiful place to be. Have stayed in many hotels all around the area and this is by far the worse we’ve had. Think may need to take photos of crap rooms to pre warn customers of worse possible scenario. I work in the industry and can’t believe how misleading this is. Honest review from 2 very disappointed people :(

Dear Dan, Devastated to read this review. My team work tirelessly to ensure every guests has a great stay with us. We are incredibly proud of the great feedback and positive reviews we have had since we have reopened the hotel on 21st June. When a guests has a less than perfect stay it matters to us greatly, and we always welcome the opportunity to resolve. I am delighted our receptionist Louise was excellent and tried to resolve the feedback and move you to another room, but could not as we are a popular destination within the New Forest with picturesque grounds and a amazing team. The Bartley Lodge is going through an exciting phase were an extensive amount of refurbishment has been done on bedrooms and the second phase of it will commence shortly. I am sorry for the housekeeping issues, we take this very seriously and will establish who cleaned and checked the room, and will conduct retraining. This is not the normal high standards we are proud of and you should have expected, I am sorry for this. My team will be devastated to read this, but we are also grateful for the feedback, to help us learn and get better. I would be delighted to discuss further my email address is bartleygm@newforesthotels.co.uk Warm Regards, Norman Cardoso

We were the last wedding here on the eve of lockdown and we were the first guests to return when they re-opened. The brand new manager and his staff have done an excellent job. Food and service was amazing, and the newly decorated rooms are perfect for a nice peaceful nights stay.
