For our 40th wedding anniversary, we had a dinner, bed and breakfast here. The food cannot be faulted , with excellent service and attention to detail. Room was very comfortable , and we used the swimming pool , and had a very good massage . A real treat!

The setting is lovely and Headlam Hall has well tended gardens together with attractive outside seating. All staff with whom we came into contact were pleasant and friendly. Food in both the restaurant and at breakfast was generally good. However, service at both breakfast and dinner was, at best, haphazard. We didn't feel as though we had been singled out as we overheard apologies issued to other guests, both in the dining room and at reception. We stayed in a mews room, described on the Hall's website as set back from the main drive. It was, but at the entrance and by little more than a car's length. The steady flow of traffic from outside visitors to the spa and golf course as well as guests, meant that for much of the time the room was far from peaceful. The sound of the kitchen extractor fan didn't help. We would stay again but next time we will, instead, opt for a room above the spa or in the main hall.

One night stay. Excellent hotel with a very clean and comfortable room in the main hall. Evening meal was excellent too, good menu and wines. Breakfast great. Really impressive grounds. Definitely recommend. Only minor down side is the selection of whiskey; need more malts, less blends (but that’s very particular to me!)

We had a lovely few days celebrating my birthday here. It was our first visit, having been recommended here by a couple friends. We stayed in one of the spa balcony rooms- quiet, comfortable bed, and directly above the spa, which made it easy for us to access the facilities and our treatments. As someone else mentioned, they do not clean the rooms daily because of covid but you can request this if needed, or additional toiletries etc. Water pressure in the shower could be a little better but manageable. Our spa treatments were excellent and although the spa is on the smaller side, was still relaxing. We had the breakfast and dinner package. Food was superb on all days and service was generally good. The main host on the evening was very welcoming and charming. The service was a bit slow at breakfast on our last day because of a wedding party staying there but nonetheless, was still fine. (Speaking of, there were weddings on every night of our stay! But didn’t really hear any noise from our room or in the main hall). Grounds are beautiful and tranquil. A great place to get away from it all. I would definitely return.

We went to check in and we not greeted by the somewhat unfriendly receptionist. When i telephoned from the room to ask why no TV I was told I should have read the sign at check-in! We had asked for a quiet room and had been recommended to the spa block. We were given a room overlooking the hot tub so we suffered from the noise of people naturally enjoying themselves. We had breakfast and dinner in the pannelled dining room and were superbly looked after by Daniel.
