Have recently stayed at the Burn Hotel. Staff are very efficient and friendly. The room is spacious and has everything you need. Very comfy beds and so peaceful throughout the night. Breakfast is excellent, all very fresh even the coffee is freshly brewed. There is an excellent fresh fruit salad . The toaster works really well and the brown bread is really good. They cook either fried eggs or poached fresh. Outside it is really nice to sit out with a drink. The gardens are lovely. The Wi Fi works very well, the only thing I can say which was a bit annoying, not all the stations on the T V work very well. I T V and channel 4 not so good. A very enjoyable stay though.

Stayed with a Groupon ( £109.00 + £10.00 extra for a Saturday night) for two nights bed and breakfast for two, including entry into York Bird of Prey Centre. Can’t believe the value, the staff were all very friendly and attentive, we only ate breakfast in the Hotel, as we were meeting friends who live in York, but the breakfast had a good selection, a good idea was that you had to order fried eggs, so many time fried eggs on a buffet have gone hard. The staff were again very friendly. There was a wedding on when we stayed with a party at 9.00. But we never heard a sound in our bedroom which was very comfortable and clean. I would recommend this hotel, even without the Groupon, as it is only seven miles to the Park and Ride at Clifton Moor. So excellent if you are visiting York or the surrounding area.

This place is like a magnet. If you want a truly relaxing break with lots to do, it's Burhall. We've now even got our friends hooked. It's in lovely gardens and staffed by cheerful, thoughtful staff, who really are there to help. The food is always excellent. The salmon is my favourite. There's a lovely stroll along the back of the hotel, spot the Pear Tree, or there are stunning walks a short car ride away. Castle Howard has a lovely perimeter walk, totally free. We caught the park and ride into York. The railway museum is mesmerising and again free. The river walk and the walk walk are also free. And this fab little hotel even gives you free entry into the Bird of Prey Centre next door. This is an experience not to be missed. When you look directly into the eye of a Chilean Blue Eagle, perched on your arm, you will not forget it. The owner and volunteers are so caring, knowledgeable and humorous. It's great. Can't wait to go again. (Maybe I should have given it a bad review. I don't want you all going at once and not being able to book a room lol)

After booking our 2-day Spring mini-break, I read some of the reviews. I wish I hadn't because some are a little scary. "DON'T STAY HERE" time and time again. I'm really pleased that I took no notice of these "ne'er do wells". All the staff that we met were pleasant and always willing to help. The food is hearty and always served hot. We were lucky to get some late afternoon sunshine and enjoyed a sundowner or two in the grounds outside the Bar. The Burn Hall Hotel is what it is... a 3-Star hotel, set in a lovely part of rural Yorkshire, with lots of interesting places to visit within a short drive. We visited Nunnington Hall and called in at Harrogate on our way home. The Birds of Prey Centre that is situated next to the Hotel, is a must visit. Allow several hours to view the shows and note that it is closed on Tuesdays. If you are a Hyacinth Bucket, do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. For normal people, Burn Hall Hotel offers a lovely setting for a quiet, value-for-money mini-break.

We’ve had a three day break here. Excellent base to visit so many paces. Thoroughly enjoyed the on-site Bird of Prey centre visit. The room was comfy and clean with all we needed. We enjoyed the evening dinners and breakfasts and the bar. The staff are very friendly, efficient and really take care of their guests. Would recommend and we’ll be back.
