My husband and I stayed here on the first night of a three week European vacation at the height of summer travel season. We booked a Deluxe Double Room Balcony (Monaco) for 195 euros. We arrived after a full 24 hours of transit and were pleasantly surprised with our room and the hotel's location. The hotel is situated on a one way street which has no area to pull off to the side and unload luggage or to park, but is near an underground parking garage which is about a block from the hotel. Because there was no parking or stopping area in front of the hotel, we couldn't unload our bags and had to roll them through the street to our hotel - not a huge deal, but a minor inconvenience. The car entry to the parking garage was very close to the hotel, but the pedestrian elevator to the garage was around the block from the hotel - confusing the first time we exited the garage with our bags, but easy to find subsequently. It actually would have been easier for us to simply walk up the garage ramp to exit where we had driven in. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff. He quickly got us checked into our room so that we could get out immediately to enjoy our first afternoon of vacation. He provided us with a city map and directions to our evening destination - it's advisable to tour the area on foot, as parking is at a premium. Our room was fairly small, but more than adequate for two people. It had a double bed as well as a sofa which apparently had a sleeper bed in it (we never used it). We had 4 suitcases between us due to the length of our trip so there wasn't a whole lot of spare space in the room after we deposited our bags (which also included 2 laptop bags and my giant travel purse). Even with all those bags, we had enough space to move around - thanks in part to the sofa which served as a luggage rack. The room also had a small desk with a small flat screen tv and a Juliette balcony which had a view across the street toward Monaco (because technically, the hotel was in France, not in Monaco). There was a small closet which barely held anything, but considering we were staying for only one night, was adequate. The a/c in the room was great, we were comfortable all night, despite the heat and humidity outdoors. The internet was ok for browsing websites, but was glacially slow for any upload/download tasks and kept needing to be reconnected. I didn't try to watch streaming video on it so I can't address that. There was a weird logon process at this hotel as well as a few others in France, which is apparently somehow related to information collection for anti-terrorism efforts - at least that's the explanation that was given to us. The bathroom was unexpectedly large by European standards - had a shower, sink, and toilet, no bath tub. It didn't really have any shelf space, which would have definitely been a problem if we were staying there for more than a single night. The shower was really nice with a great rain shower overhead. The towels were decent, but not super fluffy or soft. The hotel has a small elevator which fortunately just barely fit the two of us and our bags. It has a small dining area in the lobby and offers a continental breakfast which appeared to consist of fruit, yogurt, and cold pastries. We did not eat breakfast there, though, so I can't speak to its quality or flavor. The hotel's location was extremely convenient to walking to the center of town. It was an entirely downhill walk, though, so be prepared for an uphill climb on your way back to the hotel. There are some public elevators in the town, so if you are mobility-impaired, ask where they are before you leave the hotel. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to friends as well. Overall, it was a great experience.…
