Kolkol is a very popular place. You'll see when you visit their website and try to find an available date! We stayed there in August last year and I had booked that in January 2016. The wait is worth it! Each cottage is very well appointed and offers enough privacy that you feel secluded without being too far from others....

The hot tub was amazing. I was however, very surprised that KolKol does not offer recycling or composting. I think most of it's guests would compost and recycle at home, so it seems strange that they wouldn't offer this. As the wooden cabins are based in a mountainous area, and surrounded by stunning views of nature, composting in particular seems...

We travelled as 3 couples and stayed in Kol Kol Cabin. It was great to only travel just over an hour from Cape Town city, and reach this hidden gem - away from all the hustle and bustle. We were supplied with some lovely rusks, eggs, etc - and not to forget the huge heap of wood for the braai...

O wow what an amazing place! We stayed in the Bugsy cabin, which we loved, it's very private and you have your own little waterfall and pond right under your nose. The cabin is cosy with everything that you need, including a fireplace, huge tub with stunning views, and a hot tub. Some personal touches was not overlooked, from the...

From the moment we got there, it felt like we had stepped in a different parallel reality where it was just about us reconnecting with each other and nature. We greatly appreciated all the thoughtful touches and the trouble our hosts and their team went to, to make our stay special and memorable. If you enjoy nature, but do not...

As an Australian, I'm fairly accustomed to this form of accommodation, but this place really exceeded all my expectations. Kolkol cabin, the first to be built by Rudi, was absolutely stunning. So much thought and creativity had obviously been put into the design and construction of the cabin. The outlook from the deck was stunning. I could hear the creek...

Probably the best weekend getaway in the Cape area.. First visited them back in 2009, I've been back about 10 times or more. This is a unique destination in many ways.. Hosts Karen and Rudi are gems 👌🏻 A review doesn't do this place justice. Go visit them!!!! Be sure to book a year in advance though..

We stayed at the KolKol Mountain Lodge for a whole weekend in June 2016. The great thing it that it is just a short drive from Cape Town and one doesn't have to drive for hours on end. We booked the cabin a year in advance already as they are THAT popular. Accessibility was really easy even though the owners...

We stayed in Bugsy. All cottages are very private, luxurious, and with stunning views. There is enough wood supplied to stoke the donkey for the hot tub, as well as the fire place inside, AND to braai. Every day! This was my second visit to Kol Kol, and we are going back in February, so that we can sit in...

The perfect romantic getaway. Rustic, but well equipped. All the creature comforts and the wood fired hot tubs Rudi makes are perfect to soak your cares away or spend a romantic evening in. The hiking trail and surrounding area is untouched and makes you feel close to nature. For a home cooked meal visit Goedertrouw 2km down the road. Booking...
