There is a range of self catering accommodation available in the 3 to 4 star categories with private swimming pools, gardens and hot tubs. The venue is exceptional, dramatic, secluded and replenishing. Well situated for local wine farms, the coast (Kleinmond & Hermanus- 40mins), Franschhoek over a spectacular pass (45 mins). Great walks and mountain bike rides on the farm, swimming in the pools and the dam. Silence and tranquility with mod-cons should you still need.

We booked Klipboks for our two families with kids for a weekend. Close to Cape Town, but a beautiful valley that seems more remote. The house has a great layout, two bedrooms on each side of a living area, each bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Plus there is another communal bathroom and shower as well. House is very well equipped, but rustic. The cast iron stove, outside kitchen and braai area is amazing. Especially in foul weather, because you can still share spaces without feeling couped up. The district road and farm road was muddy due to rain, but not a problem for any standard SUV or even an adventurous sedan. Hikes on the farm are great and moderate enough to do with older kids. The spaces are well ventilated, making it a bit cold in winter, but there are enough blankets and a fireplace to warm things up, plus hot water bottles for each bed. House has solar powered lights and gas heated showers. A few plugs to charge phones as well. Large fridge. No oven, but epic gas stove and fire powered grill plate outside and a large well-equipped braai. Epic outside washing up area makes doing the dishes an unusually pleasant chore!

What a thoughtful and considered appraisal - thank you for the time you took to write this. We are happy that you enjoyed what is a continuously evolving and improving space. We are adding to the Klipboks offering now - a (solar powered?) hot tub, a pavillion next to the river and in addition the Zenshed... watch the space and thanks for the support.

Just back from my third visit to this incredible farm. After a couple extraordinary big group weekends in the past, sure enjoyed this quiet, cozy, romantic weekend in Caracal. The degree of privacy you experience at porcupine is incredible. Love not being disturbed by other guests or staff and the cottage is outfitted with everything we needed to be as comfortable as possible. Appreciated all the nice touches like big candles, wood, blankets, and even finding shot glasses when we suddenly felt like tequila--we kept remarking on how kitted out the place was for good times. Didn't leave the next much, but the farm has some great walks avail.

A truly magical stay. The farmhouse is nestled in a secluded part of the hills with amazing views and the most incredible private pool. It’s a quaint, traditional farmhouse that has been decorated beautifully inside and out. The kitchen was fully kitted out — everything we needed was there including their amazing olive oil. There were moments we felt like we were in Tuscany! We can’t wait to return.

Very beautiful and relaxing, what more can one say? Amazing places to swim in and hiking a must. Owners friendly and accommodating. Kitchen in Farmhouse (which is very private) was fully equipped and braai area needs nothing more.

We stayed in one of the river cottages for 2 nights. We love the location, being tucked away in a quiet gorge surrounded by some beautiful hills and cliffs.

The decor in the cottage was very comfortable, the kitchen was very thoughtfully stocked with everything we'd need to use to cook a few simple meals.

There is an easy hike signposted from the farm road that will take you to some great viewing spots for the local scenery.

I'd really recommend this place if you want a quiet weekend away and you want to see the beauty of a starlit night from the comfort of your own stoop!

The property has a very lovely feel - accomodation is spotless, homely, with quirky artful touches throughout. Kitchen very well equipped, indoor fireplaces effective against the chills, outdoor fire pit wonderful gathering spot. Walking trails well laid out and beautifully scenic, pottery workshop was fantastic experience

We have had an absolutely unforgettable stay. The house was not only clean and well appointed, but with many nice touches like little bunches of flowers, olive oil of the farms olives in the kitchen, ample wood for the braai and hottub etc. Everything we Neede was there and the setting is stunning. We've made walk around the farms grond that were quite enjoyable and we definitely hope to be back next year to stay longer! Thank you Cha and Tony, you are doing a great job!

Our stay at Porcupine Hills was incredible. I had my 30th birthday there with about 25 people. We stayed across Klipboks, Eyrie House and Farmhouse and each one was clean, well stocked and incredibly comfortable. The decor and finishes are lovely.

Klipboks is the perfect place for an event. The outside entertainment area is so well laid out and the separate bedrooms are perfect for privacy.

The campsite was great for friends and family who wanted to stay extra close to the party and the campsite bathrooms are even nicer than you would imagine.

The location is spectacular.

We absolutely loved our stay. Highly recommend.

We visited Porcupine Hill Farm on the weekend of the 1st October 2021 and stayed in the Farmhouse villa.

The villa was fully kitted with all the amenities (kitchen, bed and bath) you need to make yourself super comfy and to feel right at home. (They even provide hot water bottles).
The Farmhouse villa has 4 hot selling points, the master bed bath, beautiful swimming pool, a hot/fire tub and built in braai, a rare find because there are not many places that offer all this and your private swimming pool.

A big requirement for us was to be able to bring our dog along and she seemed more comfortable here than she does at home. We went on a guided tour with our guide, a beautiful young border collie who kept our dog entertained and well-exercised. The trails are worth the hike and visiting the farm dam is an added bonus even in the rain 😉

Porcupine Hill is very well thought out providing you with everything and more you need for a full quiet getaway. They even have pottery classes for their guests.

I would like to mention Rob who we met personally and who makes you feel very welcomed with his gentle soul that makes you feel right at home. We did not meet Cha but she helped us orchestrate our arrival details and I can imagine she did it with a smile on her face.

Undoubtedly we will return and we look forward to it.

Thank you Porcupine Hill for a wonderful 10yr Wedding Anniversary experience.

We had the privilege of starting the year by staying in the Farmhouse at Porcupine Hills Guest Farm. The farm is just 90 minutes drive from Cape Town and it offers a beautiful and tranquil safe haven from the madness that 2020 has heaped on us all. There are a variety of accommodation offerings on the farm, ranging from glamping (in a yurt - with hot tub) to luxury living. We walked in the mountains, swam, relaxed and even spent one evening enjoying a raku pottery firing, an optional-extra offered by the resident potter. The farm is also home to a pair of Verreaux's eagles (black eagles) and they currently have a not so small ‘young un’ who has yet to be evicted from the nest. It was awesome to watch these majestic birds circling above us in the afternoon thermals. Cha, Tony & Rob are friendly, helpful and gracious hosts and we recommend a Porcupine Hills getaway without any hesitation.
