What does Lisander stand for?Lisander is the vernacular version of the name Alessandro and it’s typical of Lombardy. It’s often linked to the writer and poet Alessandro Manzoni, commonly known as Don Lisander, who set his masterpiece “The Betrothed” in the Brianza region of Lombardy. Lisander is also a recurrent name in our family. The Bed and Breakfast is located in a wing of the Silva family home, who have been living here for more than 200 years. Over time, annexes have been added to the main building which was known as Palazzo Odescalchi, whose origin dates back to the late 1.500 A.D.The main building originally belonged to a cadet branch of the powerful Odescalchi family. Legend has it that Pope Innocent XI, who was a member of the Odescalchi family, was accidentally born here, but promptly registered as born in Como.Bedrooms.The three bedrooms are very different, so if you would like to come back we suggest you choose a different one. All of the them offer a spectacular view of the main building and on the immaculate 19th-centuy courtyard, a modern and confortable breakfast area, a fantastic south-facing terrace with a great view over the historic park so you can relax in the open air and also a workout area to keep fit.All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, tv, internet, wi-fi and a safe. There is a common minibar in the hall. For guests on business it’s a great opportunity to stay in a totally different environment from a hotel, to feel more ”at home” in exclusive and quiet surroundings. For guests who simply want to relax and for families we offer the chance of a handy place to stay where all attractions are close by (tourism, nature, entertainment) with the knowledge that you are going back to an oasis of peace. For sports lovers, cult places such as the Monza Grand Prix Circuit, the Villa D’Este Golf Course, the skiing pistes of Engadina or Lombardy in winter are all close by, and on your return you can treat yourselves to a well-deserved, exclusive and undisturbed rest.If you are an enthusiast traveller, you can base yourself here at Lisander, while you enjoy day-long tours to the great lakes of Lombardy, or to the mountain passes of Switzerland and Stelvio (feel free to ask Alessandro Silva for information, he belongs to that category of people for whom the epitome of travel lies in the journey rather than the destination)For the fans of Milan shopping, you can enjoy the exclusive experience to be found in the fashion area of Milan knowing that you can rest and relax in the evening leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behindAnd for the lovers of the “La Scala” Theatre, undoubtedly the most famous theatre in the world, the chance of living this experience as a true Milanese, both before and after the performance. Andrea Silva will introduce you to this unique experience thanks to his passion and knowledge he has acquired over many years. Why Seregno?Seregno lies in a privileged position in the Brianza area, it’s very close to Milan and Como, both reacheable by a frequent suburban train service, and to the Prealpine hills.Seregno is also the strategic centre of industry in Brianza, with its many manufacturing and commercial districts. So, the big city, the wonderful Lake Como and the economic heart of Brianza are at your feet.We are in the centre of Seregno, so all services and shops are within walking distance (Train and bus station, restaurants, hairdressers and barbers..)

We had a wonderful stay and we were looked after so well. Laura is extremely kind and helpful and we would love to return for another stay soon. Close to amenities and the train station-really a perfect spot!

I felt so safe and welcomed here. I wish I had written this earlier, but I kept forgetting. I was on my way from Milan to Switzerland and needed a place to stay. I always look for a location close to an SSPX Mass when I travel and this place was perfect. I'm from San Diego and I was so pleased with how walkable and safe the city felt. My hostess was a lovely lady and her daughter was just as kind. I was blessed to have a moment to grab some delicious refreshments downstairs with them. I enjoyed that each room had its own charm and it's own bathroom. If I am ever in the area again, I will most certainly choose to stay at Lisander again. I highly recommend this experience.

How fortunate to have selected the Lisander B and B. Laura and her staff are terrific! You can depend on their advice on everything from travel times, places to see and restaurant recommendations. The House is a little tricky to find, but is within walking distance from the main sightseeing areas. Thank you very much Laura.

I think this is my seventh visit in the last five years, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Seregno is only a short train ride from Milan, Monza, Como and many other places that you should visit, and Lisander b&b is lovely. Clean, quiet and very stylish. Run by the lovely Laura, who speaks good English and will take care of you. Better than a five star hotel.

I booked Lisander B&B for two nights stay in July 2016 for a work trip as it was close to where I was working; had good reviews and was in a nice area. I am very glad I did. Firstly, I arrived extremely late (early hours of the morning) and was worried that there would be no one to receive me. To my delight, Laura Flora was waiting outside for me and found me as I wandered round Seregno. Not only this, but she was happy to have breakfast prepared for 0730 the next morning to meet my work schedule. For this I cannot thank her enough! The accommodation was excellent, bright and clean, with a lovely room and bathroom. My breakfast was delicious with local ingredients which was a lovely touch. Seregno is a quiet town with lots of shopping and good transport links. I had dinner there and enjoyed my wander round the town. The B&B was right in the heart of the town, 5 minutes from the train station. Laura Flora also helped me out with transport, advice and an insight into Italian people and the local way of life. For me, this was the most valuable part of the trip and something that a hotel would struggle to compete with... Without a doubt, one of the best stays I've had anywhere.

We decided to stay at the Lisander B & B for one night before a morning flight from Malpensa (it's about 40-50 minutes to MXP on the new autostrada) What a treat! We occupied one of three rooms at the B & B, and were all alone that night. Our room was quite large--the bedding quite comfortable. Residents have use of the kitchen and outdoor patio that overlooks a park; Laura, the host, lives in the adjacent building with her family. She was most gracious upon arrival. We particularly appreciate how she woke up earlier than usual to go to the local bakery to get the freshest baked goods for our breakfast! We hope to stay here again on a future trip to Italy.

This is the place to stay if in the Milano area. Myself and a friend stayed here year in October 2015 and I've felt guilty ever since that I haven't got around to leaving a review until now. First, the location, Seregno is a gorgeous suburb/town conveniently situated on the train line and to be honest, we decided to skip a day in Milan over the beautiful atmosphere in Seregno and nearby Monza. Laura and her helpers offer amazing hospitality, warmth and generosity. Laura arranged and took us to her hairdresser and stayed around to help translate all the extra stylist tips we were given. It was so much fun and like we were with old friends. As others have written, there is always cake, fruit, yogurt, drinks and snacks available and the property and terrace are for a very comfortable and relaxing experience. Her daughter also helped us with some restaurant suggestions and we really enjoyed the chat we had with her. You won't regret staying at Lisander B&B. It truly is value for money!

My husband and I booked the B&B for our family coming to Italy for our wedding in October and we could not make better choice. We spent days in Milan trying to find the right place to fit 11 people and guarantee a pleasant stay. As soon as we saw Lisander B&B we fell in love with the place. The deco is modern yet cosy, the rooms are all decorated with high standards and the kitchen is new and fully equipped. The terrace and courtyard gives that amazing Italian feeling we were looking for and Laura, the owner, has been so welcoming that our guests are already planning another visit. Breakfast was fresh every morning and full of choices for every taste. We really cannot thank Laura enough for making our family feel at home in a foreign country where they have never been before. Highly recommended, perfect location in the center of Seregno town and just 5 mins away from the station that takes you to Central Milan.

I didn't stay at Lisander but my friends did for 8 days in November 2014. I stayed in a cheaper b. & b. nearby and met my friends at Lisander every morning. Laura, the landlady, was wonderful and couldn't have been more welcoming, offering me breakfast each morning which a local baker delivers fresh every day. The croissants were better than any I've tasted, a different selection each morning together with yoghurt, fresh fruit and a plum tart one morning all served in an ultra modern kitchen. There is also a romantic balcony off of the kitchen and overlooking a park. The coffee was delicious. I tried to pay but Laura would not hear of it. The old house has been renovated beautifully over 2 years. My friends' room was a small living space with a large window overlooking a central courtyard and an upstairs loft bedroom, beautifully designed with a large bed and lovely modern bathroom. The Lisander is difficult to find as there is no obvious sign outside so you have to find the Via Pozzoli (a narrow street a few minutes from the centre of town) and then look for a grey door with a small label indicating Lisander b. and b. and press the button next to it. Lovely memories of Laura and her home. Thank you so much Laura.

It is the perfect place to stay when you visit Seregno because it is situated in the center of the city, close to the train station in a building with history and an amazing energy. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished. Mrs. Laura, who runs the hotel is very warm and helpful making you feel like home. The fridge was always packed with water and soft-drinks (free of charge) and the wi-fi worked perfectly. The best place I have stayed in a while and I will definitely return here! Thank you so much, Laura!
