Extraordinary views over the countryside, Tenuta Saracone has six self-catering apartments. We stayed in a one bedroom; the apartments are quite spacious. Each apartment has a table under a pergola from which to take in the view. And there is a lovely, large swimming pool. The owners, Stefania and her partner, are warm and welcoming. This was an incredible value!

The building was formerly a farm and four appartments were built in it. Besides these four appartments, also another eight smaller appartments were available. Our appartment was very clean sufficiently equipt. We had a livingroom/kitchen, two big bedrooms and a big bathroom (with shower, bidet and toilet). Outside for every appartment there was a table and chairs where you could relax en have your breakfast and dinner. The beds are quite hard. But you get used to it after two days. On a lower terras the swimmingpool was located. Large enough to swim with a couple of people. And very clean. Also beach beds, little tables and parasols were free to use. The appartments are about 1km from the main road. So it is very quiet in the evenings. Lovely. From the terras you could see the village Monalto di Castro. Our host Stefania was very helpfull and understands and speaks English. My wive forgot her eReader and Stefania happily sent it to our home. You really need a car to get somewhere. The airport at Rome is about 125km away, as Rome/the Vatican is.Sienna is a two hours drive. Really worth to visit. Tip, go to Rome by train. Cheap and comfortable. The trainstation in Montalto di Castro is about 3km away. And you can park your car for free, Monalto de Marina is the place to go to for the beach. Clean, not busy (in September). When you want a quiet and relaxed holiday, this is the place to be.

the staff was not friendly and efficient at all. When we booked,we requested a bright appartment with a private terrace just in front of it. We were booked in a dark appartment with tables (for commun use) about 10 meters from the appartment. First we were "welcomed" by a lady who only spoke Italian, she finally called another lady who did absolutely nothing to make us happier and was very unkind. Wifi was only available close to the reception (on "booking" it was mentioned that it was "everywhere") , we booked breakfast included which was not served. Instead they gave us a breakfast "packet" composed from food they bought at the closest H discount (Italian Lidl) the first day for the coming 5 days. So far for the cappucino we hope to have every morning... We asked for something to put our wet towels etc on, we didn't get it. The from the swimmingpool was quite nice apart from the clear view on the Nuclear Power Station....Shall I continue.....? Luckily, before and after this unpleasant experience we were in very nice agriturismo with very nice and welcoming people.

We spent 2 weeks here in August with our two children aged 9 and 11. It had everything: close to the beach, close to beautiful towns and villages, and close to the train station (not that we ever went anywhere by train as we were happy visiting local towns.) The apartment was very well decorated and the terrace was so attractive with the views down to the fields and across to the town of Montalto di Castro. The swimming pool was very clean and large enough for the children to have a wonderful time whilst we lay on the loungers. I would certainly recommend this place, as it has something for everyone.
