We stayed at the Suria Lodge on the Rio Savegre with a group of Road Scholar birders. The road in is terrifying but we had a great driver who had earned all of our trust by trip's end. The roadway would be very perilous in...More

Rooms are nice and rustic with big picture windows for you to enjoy during the day. Very chilly at nights but well equipped with blankets and a heater. Views are amazing and there are lots of birds and flowers. Included breakfast is not the best.

We enjoyed our stay at Suria Lodge very much. The rooms were clean and spacious though we did find the heaters in the room were not adequate to keep the rooms warm and comfortable. In warmer weather, that would not be a problem. The service...More

Hi Motte01, It is probably faster to go to San Jose first and then take a bus in the direction of San Isidro ge General. The public bus from Quepos to San Jose is around $6-7; they go quite regularly and it takes about two... More

Dear Sir or Madam, We are planning a trip to Costa Rica beginning on Dec. 1. Our flight arrives at Alajuela late in the evening so we plan to stay somewhere close by for our first night. I am asking if it is possible to arrange a shared van or bus to bring us from San Jose to the 80 km drop-off point and then be brought into your Hotel de Montana from there. We are hoping to book a room for two or three nights with you (December 2, 3 and possibly 4). Is this possible? Also, from San Gerardo de Dota, we will be continuing on to Dominical on the Pacific coast. Is it possible to then get a van or bus from your area to Dominical? Is this plan realistic? Would a rental car be a better plan? 2 wd or 4 wd? So many questions.... Hoping to hear from you soon and seeing you later this year. Sincerely,
