About 30 minutes drive from Santander along the coast is this hidden gem. It has simply everything. A quality, 16th century Spanish villa with enough character to make you feel like you have stepped back in time. A gated, tastefully restored historic residence with a collection of art throughout, for all tastes. Then there are the rooms. They are big enough to be suites and again fitted out with dark, ornate Spanish furniture, and yet fully modern too with amazing en suite bathrooms. The standard would put many a 5 star hotel to shame. The food was exceptional, including breakfast. The grounds are beautiful with many nooks to sit in and listen to the birds, either in shade or sun. The pool is well thought out too with a wooden roof to keep the worst of the sun away. Fields and forest surround the hotel and the village is about 20 minuet walk away. This place is a best kept secret and the staff are also very kind and helpful.

Hidden jewel! Awsome building providing this place it's own personality, aided by it's location in a quiet and charming retreat creating a peaceful atmosphere. Excellent personnel working to make your stage unique (reception, restaurant and gardener). I'm surprised this place is not fully booked with time in advance. Definitely I'll be back with my family. Thank you.

We booked a suite and it was fabulous. Three rooms in all plus a large terrace looking out over a garden. The bedroom has a stained glass window which is great as the sun rises, The pool is not large, 14m but good for swimming laps. the staff is attentive and friendly. The breakfast was superb, and the dinner a marvel. Although this is a bit out of the way it is definitely worth a trip. The complex is gated, but you get a electronic key after checking in.
