Very much enjoyed our stay at Lea House what a beautiful place full of charm, our room was comfortable and we both slept so well. Nice touches which included shampoo and conditioner not in a silly sachet either. Cooked Breakfast was excellent, homemade bread and marmalade was delicious and freshly squeezed orange juice was a welcome change to the usual one is so often given. Though we did not have our dogs with us it is nice to know that Caroline welcomes dogs to stay which is a bonus given the lovely walks on offer in the area. Would definitely recommend Lea House and will stay again when in the UK

As my birthday treat, myself and my sister booked 2 nights at Lea House. On arrival, the greeting I experienced was unbelievable! Caroline opened the door, I told her who I was, she told me to park the car "over there" as she was watching the Tennis, and shut the door! When she finally decided to let us in, we were ushered into the dining room and asked to choose breakfast and tea or coffee for the morning. We hadn't even seen the room!
At breakfast, I accidently spilt a cup of tea, over the table. I tried to mop as much up with napkins, and then went to inform Caroline. She asked me "how on earth had I done that" perhaps asking me had I scalded myself would of been the question to ask??!! I felt like a two tear old, and was very embarrased,as there was another family at the breakfast table. When she went back to the kitchen, I told my sister I was not staying another night and she agreed with me. I finished the breakfast (so tiny it wouldn't fill a baby bird) and went upstairs to pack.Caroline and another person were in the room.(we hadn't been given a key to lock the room, just 1 front door key) I was furious, and told her we were not staying any longer, that she was very patronising and rude, and that I had travelled all over the world, and had never experienced anything like it,anywhere! As she left the room, her passing comment was "we were in a bad mood when we arrived"

I am truly sorry that these ladies did not enjoy Lea House but I would like to address their complaints. When they arrived I did point out where to park their car. Not quite sure how to do that other than “over there”. Yes, I was watching Andy Murray in the Olympic tennis and I did indeed pop back while the ladies were getting stuff from their car but I never shut the door on guests, and did go straight back to see them in as soon as they walked back to the house. I was in their room in the morning, for a very good reason. I had offered to serve them breakfast late, so my housekeeper had nipped in to tidy their room while they were in the dining room. The room smelled so unpleasant that I was summoned to have a look. We found the remains of a very large take-away stuffed in the bin and empty drinks cans that turned out to be reeking of stale nicotine. They had clearly been smoking and eating in the room. Both ladies left some of their breakfasts so the comment on the size is strange. The majority of my guests have judged the food I serve on its quality rather than quantity, as other reviews will attest to. I understand that the guest was embarrased but perhaps the reason the tea was spilled was because, in their own words they "got drunk" the night before, and were undoubtedly suffering the after-effects. When I cleared the table later, I found there was orange juice spilled all over it as well. I supply bathrobes to the rooms that have a private bathroom which I expect guests to use to pop from one room to the other. I was pretty surprised to see these two ladies parading through the public areas of Lea House in my bathrobe and going out into the garden to have a smoke. Not the sort of behaviour I expect. I don’t like to carp or make excuses – they were clearly not happy and pleased to leave after one night, which was mutually satisfactory as I was going to ask them to leave anyway as they were the kind of guests most b&bs rather dread. I hope next time they will find a b&b more suited to their needs.

Lea House is a beautifully furnished, decorated, warm and comfortable bed and breakfast. We stayed in The Granary Room which was spotlessly clean. It was a pleasure to relax in the two comfortable armchairs and the bed was large and very comfy.
The breakfasts were delicious and the homemade bread was 'to die for'!
Andy and Sophie made us very welcome and we enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked to go again in 6 months time.
The location is excellent for visiting Hereford or Gloucester. Also Ross-on-Wye is a nice town to spend a few hours in.

Just spent a delightful few days at Lea House b and b.the service was first class from start to finish and Andy and Sophie are perfect hosts.Always keen to chat and share their knowledge of the area.
We had the Hayloft room which was en suite, comfortable and warm with all amenities.Lovely little touches all around the room and house in general.
The breakfasts are superb. Sophie uses all local produce and bakes her own bread.
Tastefully decorated with lots of interesting artefacts. It is a well thought through high end B and B which oozes character and charm.Well situated for exploring the Forest of Dean.
We took our Golden retriever, Dillon, and they made him most welcome.
It was sublime to sit in front of a roaring log fire in the evening, in the candle light, sipping a glass of wine.
We will be back.

My wife and I were travelling down from North Wales to attend a wedding and wanted to find a B&B close to the venue to spend the night before the event. Lea House was just about a mile from the venue. What a fantastic find, Sophie and Andy were the perfect hosts nothing was to much trouble. We stayed in the Hayloft it was absolutely fantastic with a big comfortable bed. Andy informed us that the pub next door had an Indian restaurant it was excellent. The following morning we treated to breakfast provided by Sophie which was simply the best. Since we returned home we have not stopped telling our friends about our find and I have no hesitation in recommending Lea House to anyone it's simply the best. Keith & Dorcas Jarvis.

This B & B was a true find. I can honestly say I could not fault this accommodation and owners in any way. A genuine, warm and helpful welcome on arrival. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, comfortable with lots of attention to detail. A bonus too as we were allowed to have our dog in the room.
The breakfast was nicely presented and delicious.
No hesitation in recommending this fabulous B & B.

We had a lovely stay in Lea House. The family room is large enough to acommodate a family with 3 children, beds are confortable, bathroom is great. Our children enjoyed playing with the dog in the garden. A large choice of breakfasts. Caroline gave us good pieces of advice to organize our visits. We highly recommend !

My wife and I stayed with her sister and brother in law for two nights w/end 11/12 April. Caroline greeted us on our arrival and gave us all the information we needed for our stay. Her house is really lovely and our room was excellent, comfortable and spacious. We had our dog with us and she loved it to. Our bathroom was spacious and warm. Huge bath with a great range of toiletries. Breakfast was excellent, hot, tasty and fresh. The welcome book in our room and Caroline's knowledge of the area meant we could enjoy our stay without the need to ask any questions. Overall a great stay in a lovely house, owned by a friendly lady in a beautiful part of the UK!
