Detailed Reviews
Broadacres is our favourite place to stay when we visit Glyndebourne. Jo is an amazing host who makes you feel totally at home. Breakfast is a real treat and the rooms are designed with a real sense of style. The location also adds to the experience, afternoon tea on the veranda is a true delight.

We have stayed at Broadacres on three occasions in the last few years, and have two more visits booked. It is, in brief, a quite superb B and B. Broadacres is located in a beautiful part of East Sussex near Glyndebourne; the house stands in its own lovely spacious grounds, and is very quiet; the rooms are most comfortable, well appointed, and of high quality, displaying many thoughtful touches; the breakfasts are freshly prepared and consistently delicious; and Jo is a warm and vivacious host for whom nothing is ever too much trouble. We have no hesitation in recommending it as a wholly exceptional venue.

This was our third stay at Broadacres. After 2 fabulous visits in 2023 we made sure to book in with Jo as soon as we applied for tickets for Glyndebourne this year! Jo is an amazing host. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed, breakfasts are delicious and the whole place is absolutely spotless. Nothing is too much trouble for her. We’re booked in again for July and know we will be welcomed back like old friends. Would thoroughly recommend.

This is a very comfortable and well appointed B&B and we much enjoyed our stay. It was very convenient for Glyndbourne and we liked the early check in from 2pm which gave us plenty of time to relax before changing into our glad rags. The room was quiet and the continental breakfast was excellent. A good experience all round.

It was heaven. From the warm, friendly welcome when we drove in, with a gorgeous tea laid out on the verandah, to the complete comfort of our quirky, delightful room, set in woods and paddocks, quiet and refreshing. We enjoyed the optional delicious dinner even more than the delicious breakfast, loved being so well looked after without fuss. So easy to slide into its comfortable spaces, but it is also a very personal place, definitely not for those who prefer standard impersonal hotel rooms. The three days there were relaxing and refreshing, with easy access to Glyndebourne and a number of houses and gardens. We're going back.

Very warm welcome (and a cream tea, as well!) to a delightful room, looking out onto fields and garden, furnished in eclectic style with buckets of space. Fabulously comfortable bed, we slept like logs. We were staying before going to Glyndebourne and our room even had a sofa and chairs sufficient to entertain our 2 opera companions to a post performance discussion of The Magic Flute(also fabulous), with the tea and coffee provided.
Amazing breakfast with home made yogurt and granola, fruit and wonderful choice of cooked second course. We both had eggs, bacon and tomato and they were delicious.
Jo was outstandingly helpful, from the moment we made the booking, and made sure we had everything we wanted. We are really looking forward to going back again next month.

We stayed at Broadacres for the first time for a trip to Glyndebourne - We were warmly welcomed on a wet afternoon and much enjoyed the hospitality. Breakfast was delicious and relaxed. Made our Glyndebourne experience even better. Rooms were very comfortable and we will be back. Thank you Jo.

We were visiting the Glyndebourne Festival for the first time and were looking for suitable accommodation. On the festival website we found a reference to "Broadacres" under "Useful information". And this information was not only "useful", it was simply "perfect"! Broadacres is a beautiful country house surrounded by a large garden, perfectly run by Jo Wild and her team. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you need. Ideal for relaxing before the festival. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, and tea and scones are served in the afternoon. For dinner, Jo has tips for pubs and restaurants in the region. There are plenty of parking spaces available. The journey to the festival takes about 15 minutes. We preferred to take a taxi there (which we recommend).

We have stayed at Broadacres for many years. Jo and her team prepare wonderful picnics for taking to Glyndebourne and we always enjoy her breakfasts the following morning. We have stayed in a number of excellent rooms - elegant, clean and comfortable.

My wife and I discovered Broadacres two years ago when we made our first visit to the world famous Glyndebourne opera season
It is a wonderful place to stay Jo and her staff are so welcoming and our accommodation was superb
By making prior arrangement we were able to extend our stay and have dinner there on those nights we were not at the opera. That is when you realise just how special it is for a holiday break. Jo is an excellent cook and provides an extensive menu from which to choose your evening meals and they are quite superb as are the breakfast to start each day
It is very unusual in our experience to to have a pot of tea and freshly homemade scones on arrival What a great start!
Needless to say we have returned twice since that first visit in 2022 and we hope to continue that because it is so relaxing and we are looked after so well
