This past weekend was absolutely lovely ! Great location , central & great views ! Let’s talk about the bedrooms , I absolutely loved every detail of it ! From the bathroom , to the soft sheets aswell as the air conditioning! I also received Valentine gifts from the team ! The breakfast was good! Could do with more options (halaal). These weren’t even the greatest things about the hotel. The entire aesthetic of the hotel was just PERFECT! I absolutely loved it ! My words fail to express how perfect it is. But something other then perfect that made hugged my heart was the Staff! From the hotel manager who actually served me coffee! To the receptionist whose name was Patience , she definitely lives up to her name ! I probably asked her a million questions and she quite helpful! To the security guard that did my covid-19 screening (protocol). As well as the house keeping department! If there was anything that made happier then the hotel itself this weekend it was definitely the staff! The love , care and time they give to the hotel is surreal. I definitely would recommend this place to others ! I also hope the staff get a raise 😌😘😉 Thank you for having us ! 🤍

Slightly on the outskirts of Umhlanga, although close to Gateway Mall, good value if you are looking for a reliable room. I just want to salute the manager, Lizelle Henze, regarding her professional approach to a problem I raised. In the end, it had nothing to do with the hotel, but she did a full investigation and got to me comprehensively. I travel a great deal for work, and I have rarely seen such follow up.

Arrived late evening to be checked into a dirty room. They highlight and strongly publicize their rigid Covid cleaning procedures including the sanitation of the rooms but check me into a very dirty room. I was then given a clean room. Location is ideal, off the main highway, close to most malls and offices. Excellent parking facilities. Hotel in general is clean in all public areas. Housekeeping is poor- they arrive in the morning and have such loud conversations in the corridors that they wake you up. Then they didn’t replenish amenities in the room during my stay. Limited pizza menu, poor quality, at the bar otherwise a delivery service is available. I ordered Asian cuisine for dinner on one night, was told delivery would be 1 hour, and the pricing was exorbitant. Quality of the food was average if not poor. Certainly not value for money. Plenty of cheaper options within a 2kms radius of the hotel and better quality. Room does not have a bar fridge , WiFi speed is truly average for a business market focused hotel, bed is comfortable, shower is excellent and all rooms have a small balcony. My biggest criticism during these times is the lack of enough sanitiser stands in the public areas. The wrong way to save costs. I would not stay there whilst Covid continues to be a concern.

Thank you for choosing Town Lodge Umhlanga and for taking the time to review your stay. We are very sorry for the various challenges you faced during your time with us, and our hotel general manager has addressed all of the issues you raised with her team, and followed up with you, to ensure we do better. We clearly dropped the ball and wish to assure you that your feedback has been taken seriously. Our pizza menu has five different options available, as a value added extra for guests – we are sorry that you were unable to find one to your liking. Also, the prices charged by outside restaurants servicing our hotel are unfortunately out of our control. We appreciate your kind words regarding our convenient location, parking facilities and overall cleanliness. City Lodge Hotel Group has internationally-recognised Covid-19 hygiene protocols in place, and we will be sure these are more visible in future. Please accept our sincere apologies that you didn’t experience our usual high standard of service excellence. We hope you will return so that we may redeem ourselves.

Not a bad hotel. Rooms are very small similar to road lodge standards. The hotel is just A little far from all the activities and Mall in Umhlanga, but very reasonably priced with their 50% off special over December.
