The hotel is clean, staff friendly and facilities simple, or rather what you simply need. No bells and whistles BUT very good value for what do get. You don't even get this value on some Airbnb deals. Underground parking. Breakfast area. Aircon. Hot water. Clean towels. Bar fridge to stock your own.

My partner and I booked into this hotel during the new year. It initially showed it was fully booked. On phoning the hotel made a plan to accomodare us which was awesome.

The rooms are clean, modern and there is everything you need. The fact that a fridge is not available in the rooms is not a problem as the reception has a fridge in which one can put any item that need refrigeration.

The staff are absolutely amazing, friendly and kind.
The price is also very reasonable.

There is safe parking. Across the road is a private hospital and a short walk away is every shop imaginable. The Umchlanga Gateway mall is less than 2 minutes drive.

This hotel is also in close proximity to the beach. It takes 5 minutes to drive down to the Umchlanga beach.

I stayed over at this hotel and the hotel allowed guests to party in their bedrooms till 4 am. Covid protocols was not followed and curfew was ignored by the hotel and guests. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking to sleep through the night.

Honestly, we were not surprised
Rooms are small but you get what you pay for. The restaurant was apparently closed or open during lunch (they themselves were confused!!!) and then you get the atrocious attitude of the rude rude female on the front desk.
Romaine checked us in and she was friendly, we went to the room, and came back down to try eat which was a fail as we could not hear ourselves over the construction staff drilling
Romaine managed to get them to stop drilling which we appreciated but then the rude staff member *Ayanda* added her two cents at the front desk and she firstly spoke in Zulu in front of us to another staff member (which is rude as we are fully English speakers) and then gave my partner such heavy and unnecessary attitude that we demanded to check out there and then as we would not tolerate being disrespected by a junior staff member.
Ruth (the front office manager) refunded the card and apologized for the behavior of her staff - luckily we are now checked into a much better hotel - Riverside Hotel!

Firstly I got a very unappetizing call from Ayanda because I had booked and not made the previous nights check in due to travelling and business. So she told me that I had to MAKE a payment or ELSE my booking would be cancelled and this all had to happen my 12:00..quiet annoyed at the abrasive and forceful tone I told her I would do the payment when I get a chance to which she started questioning my when I get a chance, meaning I must drop everything and make a payment..she then told me she would send me an email...alas on email my cut off becomes 6:00pm and mind U I had been given an ultimatum of 12:00...fast forward to a room with juice stains on the floor, a dirty balcony, dirt on the floor...

Correctly situated in Gateway, so you not far from the beach and shopping, Hotel rooms were clean, staff friendly, overall good experience.
Only downfall is that when someone smokes in they room, we could smell it down the passage way.

I honestly decided to go on this last minute trip, purely to refresh / reboot.

What an amazing time I had on the beach, which is at such a perfectly close distance.

Although, there is some construction work, staying over during the weekend was unperturbed.

This place has a good rate, although small, but the rooms are neat & sufficient for a short stay.

I am going back in 3weeks for another reboot / time-out.

In the pipelines is an in-house restaurant.

My only suggestion is : bring your own toiletries!

Cute little place!
