In July, 2009, Tokyo Family Hotel has made a great reforming and refurbished the image into a Japanese modern atmosphere of EDO, which is the old name of Tokyo. At the same time, we've changed the name of our Hotel to Ochanomizu hotel "SHORYUKAN". We appreciate that the support of our customers only has made us possible to continue our hotel for a long time since the foundation of our Hotel, almost as same as the beginning of SHOWA era, 1925. This time we have arranged many types of rooms according to the needs of our customers, such as from ordinary single, double and twin rooms to some types of Japanese style rooms. Please stay with us and feel at home. Please enjoy our hotel.

Kanda, Akihabara, Ochanomizu
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

I left my iphone under the quilt and took a taxi to the airport. Because I brought 2 phones with me so I did find i missed one until I was on the plane ready to take off. The staff told my next-door friend (Luckily she was still there and would spend another 2 days) and then she

We stayed several nights here with my family of 4. 2 teenage kids. The rates are reasonable for this expensive city. The 4 person traditional room was small, for 4, but if you roll up your bed roll, you can make do fine. We were out and about all day, so the size the the room

Ochanomizu Hotel Shoryukan offers bath on the basement level, which might be good for bath lovers, but the room was very small and uncomfortable if you have family. The pictures show very spacious, but it is not. Two-night stay was not enjoyable.

Stayed for 4 nights back in dec 2017 as a solo female traveller in the smallest single room. It was quite a squeeze with my luggage but apart from that everything else was clean and comfortable. Had a relaxing time in the public baths which were also very clean with all

Friendly staff that speaks good English. Hotel accepted to switch us to a non-smoking room although we accidentally booked a smoking one. We were asked to pay the stay at check-in. Rooms are only available from 3pm so we left our luggage at the reception. When we came back it

"Specifically ask for a non-smoking or smoking room."
"Some rooms have traditional Japanese tub/shower versus a shower. This can be physically challenging if you have bad knees."
"Quiet, accessible, private and comfortable."
"The single Japanese rooms are really small. The living area just has enough space for a futon and a low desk. Maybe 50 square feet. The rooms for multiple people are much larger."
"choose a japanese style room!"
