This hotel was a delightful surprise to find in a rather small city. Our room was large, fully modernized and very comfortable. The hotel is clean and quiet. Breakfast (included) was delicious and served in a beautiful room. Highly recommend this hotel.

A tired old ruin in a great location between the main square and the ADO bus station begging for a full on renovation. It had the feel of an old hospital or nursing home. Check-in was smooth enough but our spacious junior suite lacked a working air conditioner, the toilet leaked water into a drain in middle of the bathroom (making it unavoidable to get our feet wet), wifi was spotty and unreliable, the TV had very poor reception and its remote control had to be replaced. Hot water took a couple of minutes to arrive but it was plentiful. What most annoyed us was an attempt to double charge our prepaid room during checkout. We had to call Orbitz to have them convince the front desk person that we had already paid for the room online, a process that wasted 25 minutes but was resolved to our satisfaction. We do not recommend this hotel.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel in a 'junior suite', a huge room with large windows, a king sized bed, a couch and a love seat. The hotel is in a great location, 1 block from the ADO and 1 block to the zocalo. Clean, safe, good wifi. 2 bottles of water were supplied each day. We were disappointed that the pool area was closed (under construction) and that our safe did not work but overall our stay was pleasant.

We broke a Puebla - Oaxaca journey in Tehuacan overnight at the Gran Hotel (which was indeed) to see the "Helis Bravo Hollis" Gardens at Zapotitlan in the early morning. Local buses every 30 mins to Zapotitlan no longer leaves the Zocalo but 4 blocks south on "Centanario" between Calle 5 & 7. The bus passes the Cacti BioReserve and will drop off/pick up just before the village of Zapotitlan. The reserve is horticultural and visually special but does not wake up till 10! However they are well worth the great 2 hours we had before heading further south in the p.m.

We have stayed in this historic grand hotel for one night. The room we had was small but comfortable. The hotel is in walking distance of the zocalo and city. There us safe carparking. It has a lounge and bar to eat and drink. The pool looks very nice but we did not have time to use it. A great stay in a historic hotel.
