A comfortable place to come and catch your breath and enjoy the wonderful hospitality that the Kzn Midlands farming families are known for! Welcome to Beverley Country Cottages! We have 4 delightful, cozy cottages set in a beautiful farm setting, in the farming community of the Dargle valley in the Natal Midlands of South Africa. Get away from the hussle and bustle of city life and get into the country for some space and tranquility. Ideal for families with young children and big group get togethers. 4 different cottages, all varying in size and capacity are beautifully set up for self catering, with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside or the beautiful gardens. All cottages are provided with lovely cotton linen and towels as well as tea stations with a welcoming jug of fresh farm milk from the neighboring dairy. More delicious dairy products are on offer as well as ready made meals and home baked goodies! Enjoy freshly baked bread and chocolate brownies at your whim! With flexibility always on the cards, extra children can be accommodated on sleeper couches. For shorter stays, beautiful double rooms are available on the East Wing of the old stone homestead with your own entrance and which are offered with a hearty farm breakfast full of all the trimmings! Locally sourced Pork, beef and lamb meat are also on offer as we offer meals on request. Beautiful views, log fireplaces, spacious rooms and comfortable beds, what are you waiting for?!

We have just spent a family weekend at Beverley Cottages and felt compelled to share our lovely experience! Our host Kate, from the time of booking did not disappoint - the fabulous Thatched Cottage we stayed in has 3 beautiful, well appointed bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms, extremely comfy beds with crisp white linen. A fabulous spacious living area and verandah over looking the most spectacular valley.
Being animal lovers we loved having the family dogs making an appearance and especially loved the little shy rescue, Nala - we look forward to seeing her again with even more confidence from all the love she’s receiving!
The goats were an absolute ‘hit’ with our grandson as were the super friendly Nguni cows .
The staff were so friendly and arrive unobtrusively to do all the necessary! Ruth’s biscuits which accompany the tea coffee station are simply sublime ! Also loved the generous bottles of farm milk and spring water ! Everything was just perfect …. We would highly recommend this as a great family or couples get away ! A litte piece of heaven on earth !

I always stay here when joining our annual fishing competition in the Dargle. Even though it’s 20 minutes from the dams we fish, it the best place to stay. The rooms are homely and very well appointed for short self-catering stays and Kate and team are most helpful with advice etc. Remains my first choice for future trips.

We chose Beverley Country Cottages as a weekend getaway with our immediate family to celebrate my 50th Birthday. Kate couldn't have done more to assist us and to say that we LOVED OUT STAY is an understatement! The Cottages are delightful, comfortable and you really feel "at home". The views are gorgeous and although we only had two nights there, we felt that we belonged and we were home away from home.
We also asked Kate for assistance with my 50th Birthday Dinner, which we had up at the Main House on her lawns and veranda. Kate arranged all the food for us and the setting was magical. It was unique, personal, intimate and definitely a perfect afternoon and evening to remember. The food was also absolutely delicious and exactly what we wanted... all from local farms and delis.
We can't wait to go back and spend more time at Beverley Country Cottages... we felt a real connection with Kate and Garry, who really couldn't have been more welcoming or hospitable. THANK YOU!

We booked for three days to get peace and quiet so we'd arrive at the coast relaxed. For two and a half days our stay was very unpleasant due to very loud and drunk guests in the next cottage. A mild intervention attempt was made on our request after the first sleepless night, which resumed at 7am and only continued the whole day until late night. The tranquility and beauty of the surroundings did not make up for the behaviour of the these guests. In desperation, we requested action on day two. We were offered to "lock up our valuables and belongings in our cottage, and when we were ready to sleep, we could move to a room adjacent to the main house". It begs the question, why should well behaved guests be inconvenienced by misbehaving others?? As an alternative they offered us other accommodation at their expense in Curry's Post - which had no TV and next an open dam (our main requirements were DSTV and pet safety, as my previous pet drowned) Exhausted and desperate, we decided to suffer through the second night as the problem guests were supposed to check out by 10 am the next morning - leaving us with at least one day's peace and quiet - we hoped. They started up with their loud behaviour again early morning and only left after our final complaint at 12.22pm, when the cleaning lady was sent to ask them to leave. We demanded at least one night's re imbursement, which we received. But nothing can give us back what we lost, as we mainly booked there for peace and quiet. Clean and friendly hosts but clearly ill equipped to handle disruptive, noisy and drunk guests...or look after the kind of guests they should want to have return

Dear Elsabe and Ian Thank you for your review explaining the turn of events but I would like to correct a few facts. 1. After receiving your call complaining about the guests noise , I called them, as I had left early to watch my girls at a hockey festival, and informed them that we had had a complaint about the noise, from the night before and that morning and asked them to be more mindful of our other guests, which I believe they were as they left the premises for the day. You even mentioned that you had bumped into them at a restaurant in the area. 2. I offered you another room on my return home earlier that day, so that if they continued to sit on their veranda as they had done the night before and have a good time, you could at least get a good nights sleep with no interruptions but you turned it down with out even having a look at it! On rejection of this offer and your distain of the events, i offered to find other accommodations and to cover the costs, which you also turned down due to it overlooking a dam. I would also just like to mention that I offered to refund you in full if you decided to leave. You decided to stay. 3. On their return much later that afternoon, I went personally to go and see them to ask them to turn their music off as soon as it went on and chat to them (which really wasn't very loud) They obliged and by 9.30pm they had all gone to bed. Once again I left early for the hockey festival the following day and was unaware that the guests had not left at their check out time until you phoned. However they were not drinking or partying - only talking on their veranda. Under the circumstances I feel that we did everything in our power to alleviate your concerns and accommodate you but you weren't interested. As I said many a time to you, we apologise for the disruption to your holiday but due to its delicate nature, I believe we handled it professionally. Every guest is important to us. I do hope that you will return one day. Kindest regards Kate

We were utterly smitten by Beverley cottages. Apart from the fact that we thoroughly enjoyed the location, the rain and mist, our dog had a fabulous time playing with Major. The breakfasts were great and Anna took wonderful care of us. Logs were provided for a cosy fire and the cottage was spacious, containing all the self catering essentials which one could ask for. We WILL be back

Kate and her team of special ladies never fails to impress. The cottages are spotless and beautifully decorated. The farm milk, Ruth's delicious biscuits and flowers in your cottage make you feel so welcome. Winter is gorgeous and chilly with a lit fire on your arrival. Springs welcomed us with an absolutely beautiful display of fruit tree blossoms and gardens of magnificent flowers. We will be back again soon.

The views, the space, the cows:) Kate, Ruth and Anna provide a welcoming and restorative getaway. The thatch cottage was so spacious, the farm felt safe to walk on and explore. The meals and food bought through Kate or made by Ruth was delicious. We will definitely return

We stayed at Beverley Country Cottages over the xmas period and it far exceeded our expectations. We booked the two larger cottages, they are comfortable, clean and well equipped. They look out over the most beautiful setting and the farm life made it the best trip ever for the kids!! Our dogs, who can be pains, were also made welcome! Kate and her family were so accommodating, helpful and friendly and we cannot wait to go back.

Our family stayed at the Thatched cottage for a weekend stay. The cottage and farm are exactly as described but the small, thoughtful touches around the cottage made the stay even more special.
We loved the setting, the beautiful views over the fields from this unit and the antique furnishings around the house.
A winner!

Our host was very welcoming. The guest house was spotless and we did not need for anything. The welcome gift was very special, thank you. Our meals were of excellent standard, variation was great over the four days and portion size very generous. Ruth who serviced our guest house and saw to all our needs was an absolute delight. We highly recommend Beverley Country Cottages, and will be back.
