My god was the service excellent, mum rose was so helpful and went the extra mile, she allowed us to use the signal room and provided us with excellent service, the manager on duty was such a gentleman and allowed us to view the Mandela suit he was so accommodating, he honestly was one of the best human beings I have ever met and that includes mum rose, I will recommend this place 50/10

We were given a huge family room (more like a small apartment!) for us and our kids of 11 and 13 - their room had 2 double beds plus another single - we had two well appointed bathrooms. The food at the Snooty Fox Restaurant is EXCELLENT - absolute 5 star experience with brilliant service and wonderful staff - we would have stayed more than 1 night if we could have. It was special for us as I grew up in the area and also had our wedding reception at the hotel 20 years ago. Highly recommend!

We have been going to Snooty Fox for many years and went last night to celebrate. As we have often done before , my wife and I ordered steak tartare. It was very disappointing and rather tasteless the toast that accompanied it was not even up to standard. Our daughter ordered trout and whist she said that the sauce was very delicious she could not eat the fish as it was full of bones. We sent it back and it was replaced but there were still many bones. The poor waitress was very embarrassed but her senior did not appear to share her concern. A very disappointing visit . I hope that there was a reason for a drop in standards in the kitchen and that it will not be repeated as we have always enjoyed our meals there in the past.

Don't know how this hotel ever received 4 star grading as it was a huge disappointment. Maintenance is certainly not a priority cleaning also not. The bathroom was sickening and the carpets in the room was dirty! The food, however was great.

The hotel is in a beautiful part of the KZN Midlands, close to Midmar Dam and along the Midlands Meander. The rooms are quaint and those that are being renovated are great, while the others are charming if a bit older. The staff are sensational. Very accommodating, professional and competent. Fully recommend this hotel for an affordable but comfortable stay,

Spent a night there with a few other couples and we were extremely disappointed after the great reviews we had seen. Only one bath towel, no dstv remote, shabby bathroom and breakfast definitely nothing to write home about. What a pity.

Spent a night here while attending a wedding in the area and was disappointed by this hotel. The images and description on the website paints a far prettier picture than what we found. The hotel is dated and in need of an upgrade. We booked the luxury room, which sadly is located in a block reminiscent of dormitories and was basic. Comfortable enough for a short stay. Breakfast is basic and service was terribly slow. However staff were super friendly and obliging! It’s ok for a short stay. But I won’t recommend as a place to go to for a vacation or longer stay. The gardens are beautiful.

The venue and rooms do have character but the hotel grounds are not looked after and maintenance is needed. The veranda of our room was really dirty and the view from the window was not nice. On the Friday evening there were 2 parties where a group of people slept in rooms close to us and were talking loudly and making a noise at 11pm. Our breakfast in the morning was poor and we decided to have coffe and a muffin. The only Excellent feedback was the food at the snooty fox restaurant. It was excellent and so delicious. If this hotel took some pride in keeping the hotel looking fresh and clean it would be a winner.
