We stayed at Granny Mouse overnight on our route down to KZN. It is familiar to us as we have stayed there before. I have not been in a place where I felt "safer" in respect of Covid. From the little bottles of 70% sanitiser given to each guest to the knives and forks arriving in prepackaged brown bags at meals and the distancing of tables I felt protected. That said the standard of cleanliness, service and meals remained top notch.
Our trip was truly relaxing. The scenery and customer service specifically the food and beverage team were truly service orientated. The house keeping team also ensured that the place was neat and tidy specifically ensuring that COVID regulations are abided by. I would have thought that the rooms would have been renovated as they are now looking old and drab.
Great room overlooking a river gorge. Well positioned, quiet and within walking distance to spa and dining area. Great proximity to all the hidden gems that make up the midlands meander. Older establishment but with modern renovated areas.
My wife and I recently celebrated our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary at this beautiful hotel. We could have not wished for a more memorable 4 day stay. From the outset let us just say that all Covid-19 regulations were followed verbatim, and we felt completely safe in all parts of the hotel and its immaculate grounds. The staff are commendable, nothing is too much trouble for them, and they went out of their way to make sure that all our requests, were met with a smile and dealt with swiftly. We opted for the Wine and Macaroon as well as the Wine and savory pairings - these we shall never forget, what a delight especially when hosted by such a great and enthusiastic sommelier/s ! The food is glorious, the Spa Treatments were truly top of the range, and the tranquil atmosphere of this establishment bodes perfectly to help you unwind, from the moment you drive in the main gate. Activities abound in the area, or, you can simply choose to relax next to one of the two pools on site. The bedrooms are a real haven of peace and with Charlotte Rhys products in your bathroom, with supplied gown and slippers; you cant go wrong there either. All round a magnificent stay, wonderful staff; what a great property. See you soon Granny Mouse !…
Perfect weekend for the midlands. Cold and rainy. We had a beautiful room, booked a room with a balcony. Even though it was large with high ceilings, it was still very warm and cosy. Beautiful location with many cafes and restaurants close by. The spa was an amazing experience. My masseuse pampered me and the treatments were very professionally done. I felt relaxed and rejuvenated at the same time. Unfortunately the fine dining experience was not great. Definitely not for the Indian palate. The food was quite bland and since we required halal cuisine, there were only 2 options on the menu. Our waiter was also very rude and did not accept criticism very well which was rather disappointing.
