Thank you for another memorable birthday lunch. The friendly and professional service from the entire team was most appreciated. The meal was delicious and the plates so beautifully decorated - all in all as good as we remember. This restaurant is our favourite in Plett for special occasions and we were made to feel so welcome.

Stayed here for a few nights to mark the end of our tour in the area. Absolutely fantastic. From the moment you arrive you realise that this is everything you could imagine. We stayed in room two and I can honestly say one of the best nights sleep ever. The room is very spacious with many little additions that make the stay much more enjoyable. The out door plunge pool is perfect to cool off in and the out door shower magical. The staff are very friendly and informative. The whole stay here was perfect and we will defo return.

Hidden in the forest and close to the beautiful coast of Plettenberg, we enjoyed a very relaxing time in a wonderfully decorated treetop chalet. The chalet is very spacious and provides an open fire place, a veranda with view over huge trees snd a little plunge pool.

Staying in Tsala Lodge was truly an incredible experience. The staff were amazing - professional and friendly. They made us feel at home. The room was comfortable and spacious with everything we needed and the views were breathtaking. The food was delicious both at breakfast and dinner. We were only there for 2 days and would have loved to stay longer. I got quite emotional when we left but we will be back!

Of all lodges we have been too in africa this is the most personalized. Your room is in a tree house, but it is like a 5 star hotel in Zürich. You can even choose after dinner when you return to your tree villa what temperature the room has and the cabin fire between the living room and main room is lit or not. Absolute luxury and the Zinis restaurant and the Tsala restaurant were both 1st class. Cannot wait to visit again!

The road to Tsala from the N2 is unpaved and quite long, however this adds to the feeling that you are tucked away in a very intimate setting. I knew we had chosen well when we were met by a member of staff as soon as we climbed out of the car. He took he car keys and said they would deal with our luggage and escorted us into a beautiful lounge where we were given a glass of wine whilst we completed the formalities. Our suite (you cannot call it a room) was gorgeous, with a small balcony at treetop level, and a small plunge pool (which is icy!) in your own courtyard. The bedroom was set on a higher level to the lounge with a log burning stove between the two. The whole feel of the place is rustic, with exposed stone walls etc, but that does not mean it isn’t luxurious. The bathroom was huge, with a large free standing bath, and a shower where you could hold a convention! The bed was very comfortable with top class bedding and lovely soft pillows. Breakfast was of a very high standard, with the usual yogurt and fruit on offer but also cold meats and cheeses, and home baked bread etc. and that was before you got on to the hot meals! Apart from the first afternoon when we arrived, the rest of our stay was blighted by terrible weather, high winds and torrential rain, so I’m glad we got to see it in the sunshine first. Our second afternoon was spent holed up in our room whilst the storm raged outside, but there are not many better places to be marooned! The staff even brought us toasted sandwiches for our lunch (through the rain) so we didn’t have to move. We ate at Zinzi the first night, which is a short walk through the grounds. Everything there was beautiful, the setting, the staff, and most importantly the food. On our second night we ate in the the hotel, and whilst the setting was beautiful, and made warm and cosy despite the weather, we felt the food was not up to the same standard as Zinzi. We both had fish, and unfortunately felt it had been over cooked, and was quite dry. Apart from that, our stay was wonderful, and I just wish we could have experienced it at it’s best. We stayed at seven different places on our road trip, and this place ranked in the top two!
