I visited Umzolozolo lodge with my nephew this past month on my first safari. First of all the Nambiti reserve is absolutely beautiful - a perfect piece of South Africa. Our guide was an expert on the landscape, flora, big five, and particularly the birds on site. The days were filled with information on all things South Africa. The staff and cuisine at Umzolozolo were top notch - everyone was accommodating and they made it their mission to make sure we were happy. There are other lodges around the reserve, but I would be surprised if they were as welcoming/friendly. We were blown away by the experience and so happy that we stayed at Umzolozolo. If I am back to Africa this would be the spot that I would stay at again.

The care, consideration & pampering started the moment we were collected from the gate. Delicious, varied tasty, food, served outside when weather permitted, with care by attentive staff. The game drives were magnificent, Mother Nature helped by Nols, ensured we saw various animals, birds, plants, but all with consideration of the environment. Henry lead his team brilliantly. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the Ladysmith area.

What a memorable weekend we had with family at this wonderful lodge ! Set high on a ridge with a spectacular view over the plains below, you can sit on the verandah or lounge in the rim flow pool while the ever present Henry brings you drinks or whatever else you may require with a friendly smile !! The rooms are large and extremely comfortable, the food is excellent, and the game drives are wonderful. We saw lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, many antelope including kudu, nyala and plenty of birds. We cannot rate this place and the staff highly enough !

What a great place very luxurious, The staff are just so amazing warm friendly kind henri you are amazing how you run the ship. The game drives with promise was wow he has so much knowledge and always got us to where the animals were the best with great communication on his radio promise was there to make sure we got to see everything the big 5 and more thank you for genuinely giving us the best game drive experience. A huge thank you to all the staff at Umzolozolo Lodge at Nambiti Game Reserve. We couldn't have asked for more. The welcome was amazing from all the staff. The staff are exceptional. From Henry's warm welcome to Siya's incredible knowledge of the reserve and all its animals. Robert's attentiveness and the best frozen margarita I have ever had. The room is luxuriously equipped with amazing views over the reserve. The food is of a high quality and is plentiful. Nambiti reserve itself is beautiful from cascading waterfalls to wide open plains. Some of the best game viewing I have experienced. I highly recommend the lodge and the reserve.

We regularly visit the lodge, and this time around it failed to disappoint (as expected!) ALL staff here are attentive, and committed to providing a professional , yet personal service, even when at full capacity. Their service delivery really did feel effortless. We were fortunate enough to have a great ranger in Nols. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and her knowledge was second to none. Good luck to Joshua too! The food offering at Breakfast and Lunch was extensive , and delicious. The range at Dinner time was somewhat reduced, but still excellent. Thank you for making this feel like a 'home from home' for us .

I stayed at Umzolozolo on my first trip to Africa with a group of family and friends. The service that Angelique, Robert, and their team provide is unlike any other I've experienced. The lodge itself is situated on a hill, overlooking the beautiful Nambiti Private Game Reserve. The lodge's small size is one of its highlights as guests benefit from private cabana rooms and extremely friendly and attentive staff who know you all by name and create a wonderful home-away-from-home atmosphere. There is always someone on hand to answer any questions you may have and they always take care to cater to your individual needs. The rooms themselves are spacious and beautifully decorated with carefully curated indigenous artwork. One nice touch is that when the rooms are made up each morning, the staff put a different Zulu folktale about one of the species on the reserve for guests to enjoy. It is just one of the many ways that Umzolozolo ensures that their guests have an authentic and unforgettable experience at their lodge. I said many times on the game drives that the visit had changed my life, and that is an understatement. The game rangers at the various lodges at Nambiti are connected via radio on the drives so that they can share information on Big 5 and other animal sightings on the reserve, ensuring that guests have the best possible chances of seeing incredible wildlife on their trips. Nolene, our game driver for the duration of our visit, was outstanding. She was highly knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions about the animals in detail. Her ability to spot wildlife and tell us information about each species with passion and enthusiasm was unparalleled. With Nolene's guidance, we were able to see 4 of the Big 5 during our stay, including two lion hunts (as well as seeing lions each day of our visit).
