The lodge is well appointed and extremely comfortable. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful, the wildlife guide was superb. Food and drink were all good, there was too much at times. Perhaps a treadmill would be a welcome extra in the spa area.

Hi Diana S Thank you for your review, we are delighted to hear you had a wonderful stay at Lions Valley Lodge. However, we are disappointed that you did not like any of the 14 red wines on our wine list, especially because we had a wine specialist recommend what wines we should make available to guests! We hope you will make a return visit and we will definitely liaise with you in advance to make sure we have stock of your wine of choice. We have also just set up a new spa area which you will be able to enjoy on a return visit.

We used Rhino transfers who drove us from Jo'burg to the gate in approx 4 hours. Very easy, good service and reasonable. rhino shuttles . co . za As per the other comments, you will see 4 of the big 5 multiple times I'm sure, but you are unlikely to see leopard (or cheetah) in this reserve as there are so few in this reserve. But I wouldn't let that stop you going!
