We were a family group of 10 -age range 9years to 82 years- and all our needs were fully catered for. From charming and kind Blythe and Joe at front of house , to Murcy in the kitchen(who created delicious feasts), our ranger Nic and all the staff in the restaurant and bar, they were all attentive, professional and accommodating. Nic was fantastic - relaxed, hugely knowledgable in all aspects of the farm, birds, animals, flora; and responsive to the needs of both an avid birdwatcher and an inquisitive 9 year old, keeping the crowd happy and informed…and safe from a rather “BFE” Big Friendly Elephant, who didn’t seem to some of us all that friendly!!. The rooms are beautifully appointed with wonderful views, nothing quite matches game casually walking in front of your room. Really a memorable and special time, we do hope current restrictions will be lifted soon to allow more people to experience this magical place and it’s wonderful staff

Louise C thank you for writing this review. We are so pleased that you and your family had a memorable and special time at Lions Valley Lodge. We too hope that the current restrictions get lifted soon! We are proud of all our guides who certainly are knowledgeable. BFE is rather huge and I must admit I personally prefer to see the elephants from a distance! We hope to have your family back at LVL so that you can add to your memory bank of precious family time. Take care and keep safe.

Almost three days of making special family memories. Beautifully appointed rooms, outstanding food, all rooms with a view of the dam with frequent visits by a wide variety of animals, and peace and tranquility. Nicolas our Ranger Guide and Blythe and Joe in Management and Mercy and the kitchen staff looked after us so well. Fire in the room, plus aircon for summer. Double baths and showers for extra togetherness.

Good day Blythe, I would like to thank you and your team for making our stay at Lions Valley special. The lodge is beautiful, but it’s the people that make it exceptional. The staff were fantastic, and I want to specifically comment on the interaction between the “ground crew” and our guide Cameron – the way in which they communicate makes all the difference. All staff makes a point of asking how we are doing and it is clear in the way that they do it that they are truly interested in our wellbeing. Thank you for the special dinner in front of the fire on day 1 when we were alone at the lodge – it made our weekend even more special. The balloons in our room and the birthday song at supper put the cherry on top! This type of behavior is not obviously noticeable when it is present, but it leaves a gaping hole when absent. Well done to you and your team. Many thanks for a very special and memorable time. Kind regards Francois & Anel

We have visited numerous Private Game reserves and 5 star lodges in the past but Lion's Valley in the Nambiti Private Game Reserve has been our best experience by far. From 1st contact with Blythe, the lodge manager, to the friendly staff which included Joe, Admire etc, to our field guide Nathan was nothing but top drawer. Nathan has an incredible knowledge of Fauna and Flora which he shares passionately and we learned a lot from him. We saw a once in a lifetime buffalo vs Lion encounter where the buffalo herd killed a lioness who had two male cubs of just over a year old. Very sad but incredible to witness the raw reality of nature! We will be back!( You know, just to check up on those two young males... okay and the great food and spa treatments!)

My husband and I stayed in the Nguni Suite at Lions Valley for three nights to celebrate my husbands 70th Birthday recently. We had a memorable and most enjoyable stay. The staff were friendly, caring and always willing to assist. Or suite was beautifully decorated, modern, spacious and ever so comfortable. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Our ranger, Cameron, was extremely knowledgeable and even though we have been to a number of game reserves in the past, we learnt so much from him. The full body massage in the Spa was probably the best we have had in a long time. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the lodge who joined us for a chat at breakfast. If you are looking for a little piece of paradise, this is the place for you.
