We stayed at this lodge for one night in April. It wasn’t long enough I wish we had stayed longer. We did 2 game drives which were fantastic. The food is a small buffet selection at lunch and breakfast and a choose at dinner. The food wasn’t amazing but OK. The tented lodges are great. Very well equipped. A great stay and would return.

AMAZING. We had the best time on this trip and considering my husband and I are not safari-type people, I didn't want to miss one of Bronwyn's trips! Even our kids managed to get up early and not miss one trip. Bronwyn is phenomenal, as a guide and a friend. She was kind to all the kids on the vehicle and prioritized sightings to the T (avoiding duplicate sightings to ensure we didn't miss the important ones). Her knowledge was outstanding and her sense of humour made each trip more interesting than the first. We saw lions, cheetah, rhino, elephant, and giraffe to name a few. The "tents" were such a treat, they really don't feel like tents at all. If I could put that bath in my car on departure, I would have. Just a heads up to buy some bottled water the night before the morning drive as the bar is not open at 6am. Never fear, Bronwyn made a plan for us with a flask of water. The heated beds were an added bonus for the chilly nights. Even the kids' single beds were heated. The generous-sized complimentary bottle of Sherry was also welcomed. Great choices of tea and coffee in the tents, with lovely toiletries. Just a reminder you park your car and get fetched from the pickup point. But, it is a very short drive to the Lodge. From Mzo at the main gate - to all the staff on-site, we were seriously impressed with the level of service. The food was outstanding, and the staff went out of their way for our nephew who has a dairy allergy. From lasagne to meatballs, to incredible cheeses and rusks. All of the food was amazing. We stayed in units 15 and 16 and has a slight walk up a steep hill to get to the tent. That was by choice, because you can easily ask any staff and they would give you a lift. The wifi in the lodge itself is great and it extends to tents 15 and 16 only marginally. We could receive messages etc from certain spots in the tent but any significant work or internet requirement would need to be done in the very comfortable lounge at the lodge. We would happily make that our office any day. It is very rare that I can review an establishment without a single complaint. We had the best time and will definitely return!

Staff were brilliantly helpful Accommodation was fabulously comfortable providing all amenities including welcoming notes and sherry. The restaurant served brilliant food at all times which was faultless. Our guide was very knowledgeable and showed us four out of the big five plus many other aspects of African wildlife - sadly the leopard eluded us. We will certainly be returning and recommending Springbok Lodge to all our friends and family.

From the fabulous welcome you get when you arrive the staff are amazing. You will never go hungry here with the amazing food including muffins at tea on your morning game viewing drive and snacks with your drink at sunset on your afternoon drive. All the guides are amazingly knowledgeable but I can say that Nadine our guide was out of this world. I even know how poisonous grasshoppers can be. Never knew that. Tents are great with an outdoor shower and we had sherry in our rooms, not sure if this was a special for us. Good i summer or winter. I'm going bck.

This was my first experience staying in a lodge within a reserve and what a fantastic introduction. It was top notch all the way from reception, dining, accommodations and game viewing drives. All done professionally and in a timely manner. The private luxury tent was well appointed with comfortable bedding, dual sinks and a gloriously deep bathtub to soak in after a long day of riding.

Having requested details on two lodges on the reserve, we went with Springbok and were very pleased with our 3 nights there. From helping with how to deal with forms whilst on the road for Covid measures, offering a second room free of charge, so as two friends we could have our own privacy, and brilliant guided drives, the experience went above and beyond what we may have reasonably expected. Being in the midlands of KZN, the drive from JHB is easy to do from mid morning and still get to the lodge for lunch. There were always at least 2 options for meals and all were cooked very well. We stayed in two of the newly renovated rooms and with the air conditioner that doubles as a heater, were very comfortable day and night (-1 degree Celcius outside one night but not a problem inside)! The lodge staff are very friendly and we were well looked after at the lodge. The reserve itself for driving around is something special. Probably my favorite reserve in KZN for game viewing after this second trip to it. It is not a huge reserve but there are an incredible number of roads. National reserves 5 times the size have less than half the road network for comparison. Combined with a large number of vehicles driving around at any one time from the other lodges as well, the chances of finding game on this reserve are very high! Our guide Brent was incredibly knowledgeable about the reserve, it's wildlife and it's history rich in Zulu, Boer, South African and British tales. The time we spent with a Black Rhino he found one afternoon was very special indeed. Special thanks to you and Chase for efforts and I look forward to being back again soon hopefully.

We enjoyed a memorable family reunion at the Lodge. We arrived on a wet and cold afternoon and were greeted with a cup of hot chocolate. Early the next morning dawned bright and sunny as we set off on our game drive. Over 3 days we saw plenty of animals- cheetah, lion, giraffe, buffalo, rhino and a brief sighting of an elephant. We stopped halfway into the drive and were treated to coffee and muffins while we soaked up the whole Safari experience. Each drive was unique. From the warmth of the rising sun to the magnificence of the setting sun. The hospitality, service levels and food were great. The general ambiance is relaxed and informal, making it a perfect family destination, although couples both young and old are afforded a peaceful getaway. Read the information carefully so you pack adequate warm clothing for the drives. It’s difficult to single out any particular staff member as so much is going on behind the scenes. Would we return? Absolutely.
