We truly regretted only spending one night during the Jazz Festival. Originally planning for just a two-night stay in the heart of Paternoster, we decided to extend our visit by another night. That's when we stumbled upon this hidden gem, nestled in a stunning location just a stone's throw away from town.

Marian, our exceptional host, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. She even allowed for an early check-in, granting us more time to savor the tranquility and beauty of the surroundings.

The room itself is a testament to meticulous attention to detail, offering everything one could need. We're eagerly anticipating our return to indulge in the hot tub and the spa treatments that this haven has to offer. Highly recommended for a truly memorable experience.

Hi Bonny and Stephen, what a pleasure it was to host you: so quirky and chirpy but like you said but far to short to enjoy each other company. And what a fantastic review you granted us, thanks so much for it. Can't wait to host you again and hopefully then with all the frills along, at least you got the taste of it now. Till next time Marion and Deon

Eleanor Selley and I stayed 3 nights at Farr Out. The beds were very comfortable with crisp cotton bedding and the perfect weight duvet. The furnishings and patio were lovely and the bathroom beautifully decorated too with perfect towels and robes also. Large efficient shower. Marion couldn’t have done more to make out stay a great success with plenty of tips and she even made restaurant bookings for us.

Farr Out is a beautiful guesthouse, beautifully situated with a view of the sea and Paternoster and a beautifully landscaped garden. We slept in the wigwam, which was a very special place to stay. We went on a beach buggy tour with Deon, which was a really great experience. In the evening we were in the hot tub under the stars, with a bottle of red wine, which was so nice. The breakfast was very lovingly prepared. We have been to Farr Out for the second time.

We had a lovely stay at Farr Out and I was very impressed with the exclusiveness of the guesthouse and with the owners as well.
Marion welcomed us and I was really impressed with the luxuriousness of the rooms, bedding, doors etc!!
The room was picture perfect with the extra touch of loose flowers on the heart folded towels....even in the bathroom basin.
Absolutely LOVED the cool sliding door and windows that can be safely opened while locked!
Breakfast was delicious; also with some exclusive foods, and breads. Just outside of Paternoster, it's quiet and peaceful, but near enough to have dinner in town.
We'll see you again!!

My partner and I recently spent two nights staying in the WigWam, and it was wonderful. Situated a couple km outside Paternoster, we were surrounded by beautiful fynbos filled with many birds (including a resident barn owl), and the sights, sounds and smells of nature. We each had a massage, one of the "add-ons" offered, and it was amazing - so relieving and relaxing. The dune buggy tour with Dion was immense fun - and yes, we did see dolphin surfing in the waves! Paternoster itself has a massive open beach which is lovely to walk on (although too cold to swim) and there are lots of restaurants, ranging from casual dining experiences to the world famous Wolfgat. Marion and Dion are excellent hosts who, along with their team of staff, go to great lengths to make guests feel at ease.

Ultimately, it was the perfect weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town, to destress and reconnect with each other and with nature.

A special surprise weekend planned and the hosts, Marion & Deon, welcomed us with such open ease & warmth, accommodating all our needs! The location is expansive, set in the perfect location to surround yourself amidst birdsong & nature. We throughly enjoyed our stay in the unique, private wigwam where the finer details did not go unnoticed. Highly recommend the hot tub & massage treatments. The beach buggy safari is a must! Such fun, entertaining and so informative!! Thank you Marion & Deon, we hope to be back soon!!

Dissapointed:My parents called me and asked if I could book accomodation for them in Paternoster. I booked them a room which was available at 9H44 yesterday. When they arrived they called me and said that they were not comfortable sleeping there due to reasons related to what they believe in. (Mother did not like the Africa intrepretations, hair, brides veil etc. in the room, not even sure what everything is called).Things I could not see on the photos.(They stay over a lot and this is the first time this happened) I asked the lady of the guesthouse if I could please get a refund 14H31 the same day. She refused saying that she runs a business. I understand if it was a day before but hours apart seriously. She even typed messages to me in capital letters which I did not appreciate. Seems like they do not have any form of understanding that a situation like this can happen. It was an unfortunate situation. I had to book them into another place which they felt comfortable in. I understand running a business and cancellation policies but I also do think that she could have tried to assist even by giving me half back. I hope that she will use the money which she refuse to give back to add value back into the community. I also stay over a lot but first time I experience something like this. She could have even offered to open (made available) the room again on the websites and provided an option that she would pay me back if someone else booked but no they were happy to keep the money. Just expected a little more understanding but clearly as long as you pay they are all good.

We are very sorry to hear that about your negative experience with us. Your mother greeted us at the front door with "she has the eery feeling" and not with ie "hello" or "good day", she also didn't introduce herself which is rather unusual. She was not able to give us the reason for her impression despite asking numerous times so that we could give her peace of mind. We left it at that as she was not prepared to discuss it at all. After showing your parents the glamping accommodation Wigwam Rising Moon she still said about the weird feeling but accepted the accommodation and checked in. Your dad kept silent. Thereafter your parents left and returned only a few hours later to say that they would not be staying with us hence the reason for cancellation policy which applied in a case of checking out again. Unfortunately, we do not always have the availability to showcase the full picture on other online portals (limited photos only allowed). If you would have done the reservation directly by us or called us , you would have had a better overview of the interior of Wigwam Rising Moon as this differs completely from our standard rooms. Having said this it surprised us that you decided to book the glamping option instead of a standard room for your parents (specifically that you know their believes as you described in your review). As it is a glamping option with the Red Indian scheme (ie shape of wigwam/tepee) away from the main house, the setting is rather unique and quirky but obviously like in your case, some guests feel offended when seeing a scull and a plastic wig as decoration. Unfortunately this was not communicated to us as we could have easily covered/taken it out for the duration of stay.

My husband, father and I had the pleasure of staying at Farr Out Guesthouse for a few days in December 2022. My husband & I stayed in the Wigwam & my father had a comfortably, spacious room to himself. Marion & Deon were very accommodating hosts with Marion making reservations for us at local restaurants (we hadn’t realised there was a public holiday & would’ve struggled to find anywhere to eat without prior reservations!) and Deon’s conviviality in the mornings at breakfast. Great location to explore local attractions & plenty of wildlife about. Watch out for the moving rocks (tortoises) and we even got to help with rescuing a baby owl.

Farr Out is on the outskirts of Paternoster. For our wedding anniversary Farr Out was the best located Guesthouse. It was peaceful and quit. Well equipped room with ensuite bathroom, comfortable bed, DSTV, bar fridge and coffee facility. The breakfast, consisting of English breakfast, cheese and cold meats platter, coffee and fruit juice was exceptional. Thank you Marion for hosting us.

Booked for two nights but actually stayed for three. Paternoster might seem out on a limb, but more than enough in surrounding area to warrant a three night stay. Marion was an excellent host and made plenty of suggestions of what to do, including some recommendations on where to eat out in the evenings. The B&B was just outside the main village with a large area of natural vegetation surrounding the property which made for a very peaceful stay. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with an outside sitting area and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely return in the future if we were back in the area and would have no hesitation in recommending this guesthouse.

Hello Richard, apologies for the late response as we got notification of it only today. Surely you have realized that you didn't pay any extra charge for accommodation. Extra charge would be applicable only if you book ie wood-fired Hot Tub, braai facilities or tailor made Beach Buggy trips. Trust you enjoyed your stay, it was nice having you as our guests and looking forward to welcoming you again in the future. Best regards Marion and Deon
